This was a lot of fun. I'm probably going to use the credit towards building my own bard. This was my first core game, my first time playing a bard, and my first special, and I enjoyed it a lot.

The wand is of the minimum caster level unless stated otherwise. In the case of the wand that is level 5. Since you are targeting his Fly spell you just roll a d20 and add 5. The DC is 11 + Cherivon's caster level.

Ah, OK, I knew it worked that way for things like the duration of a spell, but I didn't realize that was also for caster level check.

dispel caster level check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

If Charivon survives Ragnar's attack, Lem sends a Dispel Magic at him from his wand. He also continues to sing.

I'm not sure how to do the caster level check for a wand, can someone please walk me through this?

Lem moves over to Kyra. He also gets out his wands of dispel magic and cure light wounds, holding one in each hand.

reflex save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Then Lem digs in his bag and gets out a potion which he drinks.
cure serious wounds: 3d8 + 5 ⇒ (1, 5, 1) + 5 = 12

Really, dice, do you hate me that much... :)

Lem considers moving closer:
will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Lem does move closer, and casts a spell to make Charvion sleep.
casting deep slumber, DC 18

edit: forgot to say kept bardic performance going...[/ooc]

Lem moves closer to Chavion. Then he sees if he can get Chavion to go to sleep. casts deep slumber, DC 18, maintains bardic performance

reflex save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Lem ducks away from the wave of fire, reducing how much it hurts him.

I plan to have Lem move closer and use a spell, but I'm waiting to hear the answer about if a will save is needed, and if it's fear or charm related if so.

I can't see the circle of how close Lem can get without a save. He wants to try to get within 40 ft for spell range purposes. Also, is the thing keeping us back fear or charm based?

haste is the better spell, but isn't it level 3?

Yep, but Lem still has at least one spell slot left at both levels. Because he has so few spells, I've kept many of them for this, which appears to be the adventure's climax. Also see Kyra's comment about haste already being cast. Does Thorn want the invisibility?

Lem starts singing. Inspire courage started.

Lem calls out to Thorn, offering him help. I can use the last level 2 spell slot for invisibility.
If Thorn doesn't want invisibility, Lem uses haste on several friends. The haste is up for grabs, available to 3 characters, whoever can best use it.

I'm currently traveling and having to use a tiny device to post. Please assume that Lem uses his two actions to heal people with his wand. Whoever wants the heals can claim them and roll for them.

Lem waits until he thinks the other groups of Pathfinders are about ready to go on. Then Lem gathers Ragnar and Thorn over in a corner. He holds his metamagic wand, and speaks magic words twice, touching each of them on the shoulder.

Casting heroism on each, using a lesser extend metamagic rod.

How does the lesser extend metamagic wand work? It looks like it doubles the duration of the spell. Does the spell still use up a slot one higher?

By the way, thanks for helping me through some of this. My experience is almost all below level 5, so many of the rules and objects that don't come into play until higher level are unfamiliar.

Lem looks at Ragnar and Thorn. "I can't take away the life that that thing stole from you guys, but I can help reduce the effects for a little while. Do you guys want that?"

I have three level 2 spells left, so I would be happy to use one on each of those who have been negative levelled. I'll go ask in character in gameplay.

While we are at a lull, does anyone have ideas as to useful things Lem can do beyond Inspire during combat? He doesn't have many spells, so I usually can't use those, and his swordplay feels pretty useless. This is a new character class to me, so I could use ideas.

Lem uses his heal wand on himself, and looks around to see if anyone needs help. Not rolling because only need 1 hp back.

Lem helps anyone who has a wand and wants healing to use their wand, and uses his wand on anyone who asks who doesn't have one.

Lem chuckles again at Riddy, and grins at Alvin's look of concern. He moves closer to the party leaders.

When Lem gets to the point of having used up 20 rounds of inspire, I will start being a bit more cautious about using them up.

Lem comes and joins the others. He tries to cheer up those who the spectres got, even though he can't do much to help.

As soon as he is up, Lem begins to sing and moves closer to the fight. not moving on map until Lem is up

As usual, Riddy makes Lem smile.

Lem looks carefully around the room, looking for anything unusual.

perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Lem uses his standard action to move towards the others so he is close if needed. Moved on map.

For some reason, I'm not able to work with the current map. Can someone please move Lem inside a little? He tries to stay not in the front lines, but where he can help those who are on the front lines. He also likes to hang out with Alvin and Riddy.

Lem smiles at Alvin. If you want to use illusions, I can help a little.

Lem knows both silent image and invisibility. He has several spells per day left at the level of each.

Lem just shakes his head. He wishes he were surprised at this new revelation of badness, but he's not.

Lem keeps up his music, and walks over to Hugsy and taps him with a wand.

cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Lem begins to sing to inspire his friends. Then he weaves magic into his song, and points at the goblin in a turquiose hat.

Casts hideous laughter, DC 16

While singing, Lem assists pushing on the door.

strength assist: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7

I don't know if Lem's singing adds to all the assist attempts or not. If it does, the +3 makes Lem able to help.

Lem prepares to sing. He will use whichever form of inspire helps everyone else.

Lem looks around for anyone who needs help (party, enemy, or civilian)

I'm going to be without internet for the day, so please bot Lem if needed to keep things moving.

Lem begins to make music to inspire his comrades.

will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Lem points at the enemy caster and speaks a few words woven into his song. She finds it difficult to speak.

Casts silence, 20 ft radius centered on her. DC 17

Lem sees the snake is still wounded. He cautiously approaches, holding his cure wand in his hand. He gently taps the snake on the side of his coils.

cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

2 charges used so far

Lem moves closer to the goblins, wiggles his hands, and then points at a goblin

casts hideous laughter on green

I think you missed Lem's heal between waves of goblins...

Lem healed himself with a wand between waves.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Lem continues to inspire the others, but otherwise stays out of the way.

Lem steps back slightly out of reach of the goblins.

He continues to make music to inspire his allies.

He then casts a spell, ready to send it at the purple goblin as soon as it comes close enough.

Casts Hideous Laughter, range is 40 feet.

I'm fine with autostart to Lem's bardic performance. If his remaining rounds get too few and I want to save them, I'll let you know. Also, as I said in my preparations, Lem started his performance just before the goblins came close.

Also, I believe that bless does not stack with inspire courage; is this correct?

Lem continues to make music, and also attacks with his sword.
attack, inspire courage: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 2 = 17
damage, inspire courage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Lem stops his performance when the last nearby goblin drops. He will restart just before the goblins return. No other preparations.

Just to be clear, it's 3 rounds of performance used up, correct?

Lem casts invisibility on Thorne and haste on someone who wants it. He also moves closer to the goblins

Last pre-combat round Lem starts a performance of inspire courage.

First combat round Lem attacks one of the goblins.
attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 2 = 14
damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Lem quietly enjoys the show, whispering a few sarcastic remarks to Alvin and Riddywipple. When the artifact appears, he is curious, but cautious.

I've never played this or any other special. I'm new enough to PFS that I don't know who the candy head person was.

Lem smiles in amusement at the little dragon's antics.

Lem happily settles in next to his new friend.

Alvin, why don't you and I find seats together so we can see.

Lem looks sad that poor Hugsy is being rejected because of his size.

"I'm sure the snake will not cause trouble."

Diplomacy, aid another at +15 automatically passes, so add another +2 to Sir Godfrey's roll.

Lem chuckles gently at the spirited little dragon. As he prepares to go see the reenactment, he thinks about any songs he knows that tell the story of what happened.

Lem scratches the little dragon on the back of the head. He watches Sir Godfrey's shadow in concern. I'm not sure what's going on there thinks Lem.
