The plains between Oleg's and Renault's

Illthir Winlowe wrote:
"Ah, places to be and all that. Oh, you might want to know that the Magistrate are briefly visiting Oleg's trading post. I bet he or his entourage might have some coin to spend? And they should still be there if you are heading that way." Illthir offered and blew a few more notes. Then she threw a quick glance at her two companions. "As for special interests ..."

The merchants look at one another meaningfully.

"Good to know, friend. Anyhow, I happen to know that there is a magical flute currently in the possession of some little blue people who live in the region. If I can get them to relinquish it, you might see us again." Leishan says with a wink and a smile.

Illthir Winlowe wrote:
"Oh I'm sorry! My sorcerous friend can be a bit dull and technical in his questions." Illthir smiles disarmingly at the woman and lowers her flute. "Say, you don't happen to have any instruments or playbooks? Then we could see that all magic isn't about glowing swords!"

"No." Redcrow snaps.

Kephac kicks her in the boot and mutters an apology, his eyebrows waggling.

innuendo: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

"Alas, I do not." Redcrow replies softer this time. "I'm sorry but we have an urgent appointment and must be on our way. Perhaps we might have something for you upon our return? Was there anything specific you were looking for?"

The plains between Oleg's and Renault's

"Please, there is nothing mundane about our wares!" Leishan says her smile a bit forced now. "Did you have anything specific in mind?"

The plains between Oleg's and Renault's

"So do we have a deal?"

The plains between Oleg's and Renault's

"Excuse us."

The two merchants confer... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..!

dice:
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 2 = 27

"Tell you what, since this is obviously a historical artifact of no small note, we'll make you a one time deal 1,160 in gold sovereigns worth of store credit toward the longsword plus we will throw in the seashell armor your lady friend likes so much for free as an added bonus! What do you say, friends?"

"Do you have any enchanted arrows?"

"Alas, not at this time. However we are visiting Brevoy and who knows what treasures we might find there for our return!"

Numalar Auritonius wrote:
"Would you accept something in trade? My friend here has a magical rapier, but I believe he would prefer to be using a longsword like this one."

"Perhaps. Might we see the article in question?"

dice:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

If 'yes':
The two merchants huddle over the rapier for a moment inspecting it in exacting detail. We're sorry but magic blades are a silver a dozen in Restov and this one is worn. Perhaps we could give you a thousand gold sovereigns credit for it. A sort of pre-Oathday special."[/b] Leishan says while Kephac nods sagely.

Illthir, usually it is a DC 20+ to figure out the true worth of an item. That said, Illthir is pretty sure she's getting a good deal on the expensive pieces.

"Ah you like the seashell armor? It was once owned by the Merqueen of Outsea in the River Kingdoms."

You may roll 1 Knowledge (history or geography) check and/or 1 Knowledge (arcana) check. Open all the spoilers that apply.

Outsea Knowledge (History) DC 15+, or (Geography) DC 20+, and/or Knowledge (arcana) DC 20+:
Outsea is a town in the River Kingdoms containing farmland, swampland, rivers, and canals. Its citizens include both aquatic species as well as air-breathers.

Outsea Knowledge (History) DC 20+, or (Geography) DC 25+, and/or Knowledge (arcana) DC 20+:
Outsea was created when a force of sahuagin mercenaries traveled through the Sellen to make war on enemy merfolk they were hoping to outflank. However, they were discovered and in the midst of battle with the merfolk their magic failed. They and other saltwater races were trapped in an area of magical brine, deep in the center of the River Kingdoms, seemingly never to find their way back to the ocean again.

Outsea Knowledge (History) DC 25+, or (Geography) DC 30+:
Outsea is ruled by a council of generals representing the various people who make up its underwater population.

Yes, those are the correct DCs. The Knowledge (arcana) check (roll that one second if you make 2 rolls), relates to Outsea's arcane origins and is a "most or nothing" sort of thing.

Numalar takes out his monocle and polishes it for a moment.

While doing so he mutters a few words and holds his symbol between his fingers. Then he pops the monocle back in, squints for a moment, and looks at the display of wares.

"Well, let's see what we have here. Quite a collection! Can you tell me anything about them?"

Examining the items with detect magic. I'm guessing the smaller-ticket items are not magical. I'm sure Zokon can identify masterwork items.

If I am allowed I will Take 10 on the spellcraft check to get a result of 20 on each.

"Of course friend have a look!"

"Druma, eh? You're a long way from home."

"I doubt you'll find much of a market for art objects here in the Stolen Lands, but your 'unusual armaments' sounds intriguing. What have you got?"

"We travel throughout the region." Leishan undoes a few buckles on one of the horse's packs and pulls down a long section of tarp that covers an "inside pocket" of the pack's frame. Stowed inside in a way that nonetheless showcases the individual items is a small armory of weapons.

The Katapeshite does likewise on another pack animal revealing some rather unique bits of armor.

"Greetings fellow travelers! I am Leishan and this is Kephac of Katheer. We are merchants out of Kerse in Druma, with a shipment of rare valuables and unusual armaments bound for Winterbreak on the shores of the Lake of Mists and Veils. What are you in the market for? We carry art items and jewels from Kephac's home Qadira, and the highest quality weapons and armor from around the whole Inner Sea!"

Leishan is human woman perhaps in her thirties, with brown hair, and tanned skin.

"Hey there strangers! You folks in need of supplies?" Shouts the woman a fair distance off still. She's waving and indicating her pack animals.
