My last attempt at posting in Gameplay never showed up. Just checking that I'm not in some parallel universe where this table is posting but I can't see it.

I doubt it will matter, but if arc pistols have stun, you don't take the -4 to hit if you spend the action to switch to stun mode.

"That is certainly not how organized society functions," Laniakea shouts. "You have behaved recklessly, and your actions directly resulted in the death of several citizens. If you desire leniency, begin with the location of this corrupted assembly ooze."

"Yes," he answers Rocky.

"We should let Philt know what we found, also," he says to Chk'tarlsh.

Laniakea provides S9 with a few tips from his basic hacking class during Steward training.

"That was an expected result, but I still find it disappointing," Laniakea morosely states. He turns on his environmental protections to save himself from the smell as he enters to investigate the gore-splattered apartment.

He piles the credsticks that he finds tucked behind cushions and under books onto the desk. "Look here," he says and pulls the desk away from the wall. Reaching back with his lanky arm, he fishes out an oculocloak processor and a high-density datajack.

"A shame," he murmurs, looking at the market-level datajack.

Laniakea draws his pulsecaster and fires into the small apartment.

Laniakea comes around to look through the doorway. "We are far too late for Shenge," he says, pointing at the covered lump.

Hearing no answer to Chk'tarlsh's nock, Laniakea texts the shirren.

"I doubt that he is alive, but no reason not to knock," Laniakea says.

Laniakea waits for S9 to scout the interior.

"Thank you for your help," the woioko says. "We will bring him here if he is ill."

Housing Complex

"One of the local residents, a halfling named Shenge, received a bio-augment from the same distributor that released the corrupt augments," he adds in hopes of clarification.

Sounds good.

"Greetings," Laniakea says. "Someone may be or may have been in need of medical assistance. We are investigating a series of disappearances that may be related to a lot of corrupted biochain augmentations. The augmentations cause a cancer like illness that relatively quickly sickens the recipient and ultimate will kill them. Has anyone presented with such symptoms or with a severe illness of uncertain origin who recently had a bio-augmentation installed?"

"Yes, of course," the woioko's blue stripes flush a deeper blue as the halflings' emotions swell. "It is not right what happened to your family."

Laniakea will pay for it, it was his idea. Although, I'll use those magic scenario credits in gemstone form to defray the cost, if that's all right.

Scanning the run down neighborhood, his black eyes settle on the clinic. "If Shenge received the same corrupt biochains, then at best he will be in the clinic," he suggests. "If he is dead, he probably visited there at least once before his demise."

Laniakea activates his environmental protections prior to the surgery and leaves them engaged during his inspection of the malfunctioning augment. "It looks like the adaptive biochains they used in growing the augment were mutated," Laniakea says. "The mutations created an effect like cancerous tissue."

Medicine: 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 4 = 16

"This sort of unauthorized product should not have found its way to Absalom Station," the woioko says to the halfling family. "Do you need assistance purchasing a replacement?"

Realizing that he is one of very few with any medical training among his associates, Laniakea follows Tanit to visit with Maija. He listens to her tale.

"We have field medicine training," the woioko says. "I can examine it for you."

He squars down on his gangly legs and inspects Maija's operative site. "Does anyone have a medical kit?"

"We would still like to try to help," Laniakea says, "If you would allow us to speak with and examine Maija. Do you know the name and address of her co-worker who received the datajack?"

"Yes. It is no trouble for us, and you might actually be helping us by letting us help," Laniakea says. "Several people frequenting the Freemarket have gone missing. If there is a connection between your wife's illness and the other patrons' disappearance, it could be a great help to us and to the other people's families."

"Senndi said that his mother was sick and asked us for help," Laniakea answers the halfling father, intentionally slow to broach the subject of the augmentation clinic. "How can we help?"

"We will do our best," he answers.

I meant: no need to roll, Laniakea fully trusts this innocent looking child.

"FBI Steward, diplomatic and investigative corp," the woioko says to the exceedingly small child. "Please, lead the way. We would be happy to help."

No Sense Motive. Full trust!

”I suspect that they are working out of some place else,” Laniakea says. ”Or whoever is claiming to be Renew-You.”

Laniakea enters to search for clues related to their investigation.
