I'll probably readjust this guy for whatever specifications get specified. Imma play a melee kobold. 1 Inspired Blade Swashbuckler/ Daring Champion x. Turn's out you can really pile on the hurt without so much from stat's when you have x2 level to damage.

Unless I come up with something else I like, but I already have so many Lizardfolk.

Si. Im a fan because it gives the swashbuckler a real ability to compete with Bards and Paladins as team talky-man. And it replaces charmed life with a weaker, but more reliable will bonus. I guess we can wait to see if one of us needs to pick up the role more anyway.

Yeah, kinda surprised he hasn't jumped in yet.

So, If I go with Noble Fencer (still perfectly in character, imo) and give him one racial trait that I think Ill go with anyway, Laknir will be able to pull anywhere from a +8 +20 diplomacy modifier. Plus extra if the GM chooses to use the Verbal Duels for any reason.


Well, we got Laknir, an Occultist/Swashbuckler and cavalier. And a Wizard/undecided.

So, we still need folks for: Stealth/traps, sneaky stuff. Party face optional. Divine casting. Probably something else Im forgetting.

Sounds pretty nifty. Remember that the morale bonuses from banner and inspire won't stack for the fear and saving throw bonus though. If I keep leveling the way I originally intended, Ill be adding another teamwork feat on top of the other two with Daring Champion as well. But Im currently wieghing the benefits of DC Cavalier over the Noble Fencer swashbuckler. Noble fencer will make Laknir a real good face if we end up not getting one. But without cavalier his saves, and damage will suffer. Ill probably only use Noble Fencer if we dont get a diplomacy guy/gal.

That does sound pretty cool. Course, I can't speak for the GM.

Edit: As for the class, Im not sure. I'd suggest Daring Champion Cavalier, but Im a bit biased. And Amby would come out really similarly to Laknir.

I'm choosing between the Nemesis, or Overachiever story feats to replace Rival with. I'd prefer Nemesis because it's closer to Rival, but I figured I'd run it by you again just in case.

Speaking of finishing touches, Laknir is complete for anybody to look over, comment, subscribe save for the story feat question.


Nearly done. I just need to pick my two spells out, ask a couple questions and this kobold will be ready to beat face. Still not tired of that sentence. I'd like him to pick up Profession: Sailor for two reasons. One, useful, even as a back-up to another PC. Two, I can imagine he'd have to learn for himself to get around. Most people don't want to give rides to a kobold regardless of how well-groomed he may be.

If ya want, I can give another profession a look.

Second, I'd like to pick the rival story feat, but do I have to make the quest roll, or does the GM?

Yes. However, if you have two classes with the same ability (Sneak attack is a common one) You only get one progression, the better one.

In that case, I'll start re-stating this fella. He'll be progressing as a Daring Champion Cavalier in place of swashbuckler past level 1. Occultist gets handy defense bonuses and fits his cavalier order well.

Edit: His history and personality will be the same though, please give it a look and let me know what you think.

I felt the same way you do, but I made it a challenge to myself to build a melee Kobold (a Stabold, if you will) and I think this guy holds up pretty well. Could he be better? Mechanically sure, but the character wouldn't be the same.

I'm surprised these boats are still in such good condition. Plant matter typically degrades after such a long time. He ponders how these plants he's never seen before in his life work.

Is the map updated? If so, I thought we wanted to let creatures out of 5 ft hallways? It doesn't sound like I'm in melee range from the description here.

Korim, are you alright? What just happened? Laknir breathes out raggedly. He's lost a fair bit of his knightly composure, but regains it to the best of his ability.

*ahem* Regardless. We have to decide whether pressing on here will be worthwhile. I would argue to continue as I've given my word to our benefactor Gej. But that would be foolhardy if we die in the process.

except that I just remembered I have 2 alchemist fires on my lvl 3 version of this guy.

Laknir will continue to maintain distance betweeen himself and the swarm, attacking the swarm by throwing his second and last Alchemist Fire as Korim puts space between himself and it.

Assuming this is the part where I roll. Do splash weapons add or subtract damage due to the strength of the thrower? If so, -2 to that.
