Laial hands over the coin and with a farewell turns to leave, returning to the Tavern to see how the others have fared.

Laial sits down near the others as they make introductions. Waiting patiently as Keaton finishes she speaks up.

"I am Laial, Initiate of Umberlee, as to my skillset, I can heal when required, I know how to survive in the wilds and the danger water poses to most has little effect on me, and while I'm not a professional warrior, I know my way around a blade or spear."

Laial coughs softly to clear her throat.

"Those at the shrine know little, they are seconded here from Waterdeep and have just recently arrived. They have asked to be kept updated of the goings on, and have as stock of healing potions available if we have coin to pay for them."

"I fear I know little more than I have said already, there have been three fires at the Swinging Sword in the past three months. I doubt the staff there are incompetent enough to cause them by accident. There are also reports of unusually frequent lightning, even in clear skies and persistent fogs on the Sumber Hills."
Laial pauses a moment, "We have assembled a group to investigate the problems in he area, if you would care to make any contribution..."

Laial peers tentatively through the doors, with a deep breath she enters the shrine, "I am Laial initiate of Umberlee, mistress of waves. If I can beg a moment of your time."
"The womenfolk of the Swinging Sword have beseeched us to investigate the strange fires, and they seem to think the cause flows from fell magic at Lance Rock, as pillars of the local community I seek your learned opinions upon it."
Laial ponders, Was that too much, I hate talking to other priests, why did I volunteer to come here of all places?

"Very well, I will visit the shrine, see how far the concept of 'All Faiths' stretches."

"You do not need to name everything to make it true, perhaps our companionship is but fleeting, perhaps we forge something greater... Who is to tell what the future brings.
Perhaps you could call us a spark or a glimmer of greatness to come - I'm sure you can find more poetic ways to say so, you appear to be quite the wordsmith." Laial suddenly seems to realize she has been speaking her thoughts out loud, and shrinks back a little, suddenly taking interest in her drink.

Laial orders food quietly, and tries to stay out of the way, but she can't help but overhear news of disturbances at Lance Rock.

Looking to Keaton and Cade, she coughs a little before speaking.
If you be not adverse to a little company heading out to that rock, I'd like to come along. I can assure you I won't be a bother and will put my skills to the use of the group.

Laial enters the town, barely having chance to take it in before a child presses some leaflet into her hand, and is off before she even thinks to speak.

Well my lady, I am here, what next? she thinks, hoping some inspiration strikes, when nothing does she sighs, glances over the leaflet and decides that a drink and some food is in order, she'll worry about what to do later.

A few folk seem to be heading into the 'Swinging Sword', keeping a slight distance she follows.

I've been over my character in triplicate, but can't see anything that I need to change.

Laial looks around at the inlanders she's associating with and sighs, she spares a glance west, back towards the ocean before continuing eastwards on the road to Red Larch.

Still watching, and I've expanded my Appearance and Backstory a little.

Profile is updated to match the preferred format, I've also completely re-done gear using the max gold method, rather than the background/class method I used previously - which also allows me to switch to Umberlee's favoured weapon, rather than the generic warhammer.
