Half-elf Ranger 1

I have not logged into the site for about a week, and I don't think its fair to the group. I may or may not ask to come back, but I do know that right now I should not be here, and it is better if I replaced.
It is not an issue with the campaign. I will probably check in from time to time to just to read the post.

The same messages is going to my other pbp groups also.

Half-elf Ranger 1

I wish to attack a guard... I did not get updates for the pbp's I am in, sorry.

Aid another for my the flanking partner:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Feel free to shoot me a PM if I am the hold up..That is for anyone in the group.

Half-elf Ranger 1

It seems I somehow missed two days here. I only intended to miss one, but I will be making multiple post over the next few days as needed..

Half-elf Ranger 1

IIRC we are using the manacles as improvised clubs

Kyrul double moves to S13

Half-elf Ranger 1

I seem to have gotten lost due to real life events.
Is everyone free? If so I will declare combat actions.

Half-elf Ranger 1

Init:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Half-elf Ranger 1

Looks at Mordred and thinks "I hope he knows what he is doing."

Half-elf Ranger 1

I am still here, just checking in while I am freeing people in the game. :)

You are technically still in combat. You can take 10, but I need the order in which you go about freeing people.

I am going to free them according to their names in alphabetical order. Taking 10. :)

Half-elf Ranger 1

Kyrul ignores the half-breed comment, and frees everyone else.

Upon doing so he says "My name is Kyrul."

Half-elf Ranger 1

I want to move to flank the guard, and attack if possible.

attack:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
That will be +0 if he is not human.

damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
That will be +4 if he is not human.

Half-elf Ranger 1

I agree.

Half-elf Ranger 1

thanks

Half-elf Ranger 1

Good point. I thought there was a map, but not I can't find it.

Half-elf Ranger 1

We might need some flanking to hit this guy. I actually have a +2 with my favored enemy factored in. With the +2 from flanking I get a +4.

Half-elf Ranger 1

A initiative roll is dex check aka ability check so shaken would apply.

I am going to smack the guard with the manacle, or at least try.

attack roll: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9

damage:1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

edit: My favor enemy is humans so that should be a +11 to hit, and 12 damage, not that I think it matters.

Half-elf Ranger 1

I am here. I will use the manacles, and I am about to post in the other thread.

Half-elf Ranger 1

[spoiler=In Elven]"Stupid guards, if they knew we would be released from this place by tomorrow. They would be better off moving us to another prison. I might come back just to visit the head guard. I owe him."[/spoilers]

It was about this point that Treize burst out laughing. Not his usual half-hearted and oh-so insulting snickering, but a full-on hearty laugh. These people are insane, the lot of them! Treize thought as he continued laughing at the unfolding scene before him.

It was...odd to laugh like this, for Treize anyway. He was always one to control his emotions; keep up a permanent poker face. But now, he saw no reason to be anything but amused.

A manacled masochistic fetchling was making less than subtle passes at the guard who'd just delivered him a...well...dirty blow with a club; a naive half-breed who apparently dreams of martyring himself for some delusional purpose or other; and a bound vampire who just tried to goad the armed guard into coming close enough to get his throat ripped out.

In elven:
"It sounds like a plan."

Half-elf Ranger 1

It seems I have internet access for the weekend. :)

Half-elf Ranger 1

Thanks for the stealth roll.

To the guard:
"You know he will make you pay for that. It might be a good idea to apologize."

Now familiar with the lock's inner workings, Kyrul does his job on the other locks with relative ease. However he is not to enjoy the fruits of his success unspoilt. The abrupt silence which replaced the agitated talking as soon as Kyrul unlocked his chains has caught the guard's attention. As Mordred and Treize rub their free hands, you hear the guard saying "What in Mitra's name are you rascals up to again? Why wouldn't you lot just quietly wait for your gallows."
The key turns in the lock and a red-faced guard comes in, club out and ready for trouble, but without displaying undue enthusiasm. He surveys the cell, checking that everything is in order.

Kyrul, Mordred and Treize can attempt a DC14 Stealth check to quickly pretend they're still shackled before the guard comes in, and hide the Veil.

My stealth modifier is a +6, not +1.

I don't know if that would have made a difference or not.

Half-elf Ranger 1

I did not see that. If you have not made it, I will make it now.

As a reminder my last post might be tomorrow until Sunday night.

Half-elf Ranger 1

Once Kyrul is free he helps Mordred and then Treize. If no guards come he frees Shalastar, and continues until everyone is free.

Half-elf Ranger 1

That is good to know. I kept getting dots on thread with no updates. It was getting to be annoying.

Half-elf Ranger 1

Kyrul looks at Treize and in common says. "I have this."

Kyrul's eyes seem to be staring into a far away place as he focuses on the task at hand.

Taking 20 for disable device.

If someone is on a long-time planned absence (say over 3-4 days), I would like them to give me lease to DMPC their characters when needed.

When we're not in combat, I will sometimes move the events forward if one or two players did not respond and all the others have agreed on something.

When we're in combat, I plan to give 24h allowance since last post made by anyone. So that in worst case one round of combat lasts for a week before I make any remaining actions myself and start a new round. Unless a player warns about his issues and asks to wait for him.

The provisional term for seeking a replacement is two weeks of unplanned absence.

This does not account for my own issues of course. I may occasionally have to disappear for 2-3 days. Especially around weekends. If I haven't posted for two weeks without explanation, then you can start seeking a new DM.

The DMPC works for me also. My time is over a weekend so hopefully it should not be an issue.

The fool has all the grace of an intoxicated Dwarf, Treize thought to himself, cringing every time the pick clanged against the metal, and at this rate, he'll blow our best chance at getting out of here.

"Well...gentlemen...if you were free, what would you be doing right now?" Treize said in a rather...obnoxiously loud fashion. He hoped that the rest of them would pick up that the conversation would help drown out the sound of the lock picking.

** spoiler omitted ** Treize hisses to Kyrul while the others (presumably) giving their accounts of what they would be doing or quibbling over Treize's use of the word gentlemen despite their being females present.

Surprised that anyone is even questioning his expertise Kyrul responds:

disable device:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

I do accept aid another checks. :)

Half-elf Ranger 1

From the 4th to the 8th of November I may not have internet access. It depends on which hotel I get put into. I think there is a Mcdonalds nearby with internet service, if I get put into the hotel they gave us last time, so I will try to do what I can to at least get one post in a day.

Half-elf Ranger 1

Sorry fellas

Even though Kyrul just asked for the lockpicks he was not expecting them to be handed over. He almost drops them.

Once they are in hand he tries to undo his chains.

disable device:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Half-elf Ranger 1

Suddenly Kyrul comes out of his stupor. "If none of you can pick the lock let me try it."

Half-elf Ranger 1

Oh I have disable device. I forgot I had it.

Half-elf Ranger 1

"Treize I would debate the point, but I can't find any reason to defend the people who put me in this situation."

Half-elf Ranger 1

"My name is Kyrul, and I too am here for high treason, which was in the best interest of the government and the people. I am sure they will spin this to make me look like the bad guy."

Half-elf Ranger 1

"If I could get free we would all be out of here."

Half-elf Ranger 1

"Well back in my days as a college student I met a woman, who was very drawn much to me. Due to my travels I never got to get up with her though. Maybe it is her."

Half-elf Ranger 1

"So the cowards were all taken down by one man, and the court would not even let you claim self-defense? This is the type of rubbish I would have stopped had I managed to overthrow the crown."

Half-elf Ranger 1

I am guilty of high treason. I just think I was doing the right thing at the time, and should not be punished for it.:)

Half-elf Ranger 1

"My father was killed, and I was framed and the men who made this possible are walking freely. I thought to change the system, to make it one Mitra would be proud of, one of true justice, and I was rewarded with imprisonment."

Half-elf Ranger 1

"So you were framed m'lady?"

Half-elf Ranger 1

Kyrul sighs.

I can't believe it has come to this. A crime was commited against myself, and my father, and not only will I die my name will be tarnished because of it. I can't believe Mitra allows such corruption to take place while taking in the people's praise. I have never seen such a display of dishonesty before. Maybe one of these men has connections.

After looking around:

"What brings the rest of you here?"

Half-elf Ranger 1

Here is Kyrul. Now to report to the gameplay thread.
