Kolgun reaches into his pack and hands Thel a spike. "See if you can wedge this in to hold the door, or just place it to keep from closing." He then approaches Bengal, closes his eyes and a wave of healing passes through him . . . . "If you can stay on your feet a bit longer, I'll take your position at the front."

I will delay my move until after the beast Due to the crampted quarters Kolgun will leave the hand to hand combat to those better suited. But he does not under-estimate the beast's danger, and thus calls upon his faith to help heal injuries it causes . . . Channel Positive Energy 30' rad: (1d6=1) Bah!

In the cramped quarters Kolgun unleashes his Acid Dartat the beast . . .

Prior to moving from the room Kolgun considered the magical circle and the beast's effect on Bengal. Alas, his study leaves some to be desired . . . Know - Religion (x2) (1d20+5,1d20+5=[7, 5] 12, [3, 5] 8) He readies himself by the door for whatever may be waiting on the other side.
Male Dwarven Cleric / 1st Level
Kolgun joins Thel at the door, and nods that he's ready to move on the foul being in the room. Can Kolgun get another knowledge check on the type of being in the previous room based on the effect of its attack and the nature of the circle? If not, no worries. Off to work so I'll post my initiative.

Kolgun delicately sweeps the dust off the symbol. He takes a moment to examine it, but finds that beyond the religious significance of the symbol of the moon goddess Galarias, he is unable to glean any other potent or power from it. He shakes his head, and looks to the others. Perhaps their training will provide some answers . . ..
Male Dwarven Cleric / 1st Level
Although far from nimble, Kolgun steps forward as the door begins to swing shut to prevent the room from being sealed again. He sets his shield down, using it to keep the door from completely closing, then turns his attentions to his friend who was injured in the short, but nasty brawl. Reflex / Heal Check (1d20+1,1d20+7=[14, 1] 15, [12, 7] 19) "The foul beast's touch seems to have paralyzed Bengal. But she seems to be recovering, even now. I don't believe the effects will last long." Kolgun searches through his healing kit to see if there's a salve or ointment that will shorten the duration of the paralysis or ease any discomfort.

I'm heading off to work now so I'll post my 1st round attack
For Tarlane Spoiler: If anyone is inured by my turn in the 2nd round I'll use Channel Energy for my turn. Not sure if I'll be able to check in after I head off to work, so feel free to make my rolls.

Kolgun gazes at the attrocity in front of him, but his training and study does not seem to answer the questions that pose in his mind . . .
Regardless, he knows danger when he sees it. He readies to strike the creature -

Kolgun follows Thel and fails to see anything new in the area . . .
He inspects the walls and what used to be the paintings . . .

I'm off to work in a few and don't know if I'll be in the field or not, so I'll post my actions now Kolgun steps into the room and attempts to grab Bengal to pull her back out, giving a shout to provide her with a sense of direction . .
If he's unable to bring her to safety he'll try to drive the wicked beasts off with his hammer:
if he can in this turn, if not, no worries, I know I'm posting a lot As the bats close on him Kolgun tries to remain focused on the job at hand, no easy task as they surround and engulf him . . .

Kolgun snarls as he sees the swarm descend on Belgan . . . Torag tells that among the hideous creatures that live under the earth, bats are the most fiercly hated. He steps in to defend the tibbit . . .

After placing the broken glass on the trap door Kolgun returns to next to Bengal. He nods that he's ready, the carefully opens the door a crack to see if any light seeps into the room they occupy. Absent any light, he opens it farther alowing Bengal to slip into the room in her stealthy, noiseless manner.
Male Dwarven Cleric / 1st Level
Whispering "Aye,let's try the door, then. Bengal, do you feel up to scouting? I'll keep an eye out if we move the light back enough . . ." While the group prepares to open the door, Kolgun places a broken glass from a wine bottle on the trap door, explaining that it might indicate whether the door's been used.
Male Dwarven Cleric / 1st Level
Kolgun lets the group know that he hears the sound of a bat beyond the door. Whispering "Could mean another way into this place. And another way out. Good to know if we have to leave in a hurry. Might be worth investigating." With that, he looks to the others to see what they have in mind. . . Spoiler: No worries about the rolls, Tar. I know you're on top things.

Kolgun considers what he knows of Rivenyk and relates it to his companions, unconsciously holding his holy symbol as he speaks. "No being to be trifled with. I suggest we seek to learn more of the knife and tower mentioned on the page before we venture deeper into these ruins."
Male Dwarven Cleric / 1st Level
Kolgun examines the diary page and considers the words so carefully scribed there.
Rivenyk . . . . He searches his memory and schooling for anything he may have learned of this creature, or the knife that seems connected to it: Knowledge Religion - (1d20+5=25) I KNOW I'm going to be wishing for that in combat!

Kolgun joins Thel near the entrance to the wine cellar. "I'd expect something nasty indeed if there's a single bottle left un-touched by the goblins or their kin," he whispers. He moves in a little farther, out of the circle of torch light to allow his darkvision to work. His warhammer clinched in his right fist, his iron shield ready.

Kolgun joins Bengal in the aftermath. He nods in admiration. Wet-work isn't for the faint hearted. He works his way carefully along the corridor adjacent to the stairs, examining the stonework for any secret passages or strange construction that might indicate a trap . . . +5 with Stonecunning, should probably be a secret roll by the DM He'll return to report his findings, or lack thereof.

IF Kolgun's darkvision allows him to see the goblin fall in slumber. He chuckles to himself; the elf may be slight, but he seems to know when action is needed. He draws his dagger and motions for Thel and Aldrin to move up an join Bengal and the mage. Time to dispatch these minions of evil. EDIT: the avatar, again

Kolgun waits until the group is ready to head in. He examins the flight of steps to the first landing, looking for any signs of passage; a footprint or ash from a torch on the wall, any sound from within . . .
When the group is ready he'll fall in behind Bengal, next to Thel.
Male Dwarven Cleric / 1st Level
Kolgun's finished eating. He's ready with his pack loaded and his overcoat and apron on. He offers to loan Thel his bull's eye lantern. He'd brought it to examine the details of stone structure or any runes discovered, but doubts that need will arise soon. "Ready when you are" he says.

I don't have any points in profession atm. I was planning on it at level two to RP with his work with Whedon. If someone feels a silver dagger is necessary I'd have to say Faschers would be the way to go atm. As for errands . . . Kolgun wakes early and heads to the logging camp to sharpen axes, straighten saws, or any other items that may need mending.
Afterward he’ll return to the Lost Shepherd and have breakfast with Judello and any of his friends that are there. He expects to be packed and ready when the others are.

Kolgun chuckles again . . . "Loren, your intellect is unquestioned, but don't frighten the locals with stories meant to keep children from misbehaving." He taps out the ashes from his pipe, then stands up gently, allowing Bengal-cat the chance to hop down safely. "I shall turn in. Let's rise early, then venture back and see for ourselves what might be lurking below. What do you say?" He gives Loren a friendly clap on the shoulder and a knowing look, then nods to the halfling as he turns and heads to his room.
Male Dwarven Cleric / 1st Level
Kolgun puffs on his pipe, then blows a lazy smoke ring . . . "I'll wake early and go to the logging guild. Whedon might be able tell me a thing or two about the foul incident." Another puff from the pipe, another smoke ring, and finally a long pull from the mug in front of him . . . "Should we meet in front of the tavern before heading back to the Delve? Perhaps Judello might consider preparing breakfast for us before we set off?" He raises a questioning eyebrow to the halfing, then chuckles and finishes the ale from his mug. EDIT: the correct Avatar, doh!

Kolgun continues takes out his pipe and begins to pack it with some tobacco. "The best place to find a clue to the lad's disappearance might be back in the Delve itself. I'd say we take a look around before we raise the poor woman's hopes needlessly." He looks around for something to light his pipe with. He doesn't want to disturb the creature that's sitting in his lap. He's seen how sharp her 'claws' are . . .

Kolgun listens to Thel's rendition of the battle and chuckles. "Sounds exciting, he thinks, sorry I missed it. He examines the last of the yellowing bruise under his workshirt that did't quite heal up. A little reminder, he supposes, that he'll need to step lively on the next jaunt. The Halfling's tale almost seems to be a plea. He seems sincere . .
but of course, there's more to the story. I have to get these 18's and 20's out of the way so there's room for 5's & 6's when we're in combat!
Male Dwarven Cleric / 1st Level
That's cool with me. Kolgun will give Aldrin his CLW potion in repayment for reviving him. In the morning Kolgun wakes early and returns to the mining guild to repair any tools the workers might need before their shift begins. As he swings his hammer he thinks about the trials he and his companions will face in the up coming day. He knows the pinging of his hammer on the anvil will reach Torag's ears. Afterward he returns to the inn for a warm meal, and waits for his friends to rise so they can plan their next step. They'll find him outside with a hot cup in one hand and his pipe in the other. |
