I actually really like that idea. I think I'm going to make all of my characters dwarves from the same clan vying to be the first one to clear out Rappan Athuk.
So my group is playing Rappan Athuk and we're in dire need of some front line beef. We currently have:
We rolled our abilities and I ended up with the absurdly high (can be arranged in any order): 15 15 16 17 17 18 My first character is probably going to be a Drunken Master Monk, but I'm looking for ideas on other front liners. With these stats I feel like I can make almost any build work
First off, there's some serious emotional issues attached to alcohol/substance use in this thread. People who choose to get drunk or high are not "disgusting," "pathetic" or any other negative word. They are simply making different choices than people who choose not to imbibe. It doesn't change the type of person they are. Some of the nicest people I know use different substances. Some of the biggest jerks I know are straightedge. That being said, I've had some of the best gaming moments in my career when the table was drunk or otherwise intoxicated. Not everyone is a sloppy angry bastard when they choose to drink. Don't even get me started on why i'd rather play with someone who is stoned than most sober people... It's all really a matter of personal choice. You shouldn't judge someone or shun someone based on how they choose to live. It ends up stifling your own life and making you look like a jerk.
My last giveaway gathered a lot of interest, but some of the people who won did not contact me back. So, I'm starting over and adding some new stuff to the list. I have Masks of the Living God, We Be Goblins Too and Dawn of the Scarlet Sun. They're all in good shape, but We Be Goblins Too is slightly used (it's provided my tables with tons of fun, so know I'm passing it on). I have randomly generated 3 different numbers between 1-30 for each book. To enter, say what book you want, and pick a number. Whoever guesses the number will get the book. Please only pick one book that you want. Example: Quote: I want Blood of the Moon. 16681264901646. Number not actually between 1 and 30. If no one has this by the end of the day, I'll give away one random prize to a random poster. I'll continue like this for the next three days. I'll be mailing them to whoever wins. If you win, I'll say it here in the thread, then PM you. If you do not respond within two days, I'll send a PM to a random contestant. Due to cost, I cannot ship out of the U.S. I apologize if anyone has posted from other countries. Pass on the holiday cheer!
We've got our final winner! Congratulations to Krail Stromquism on winning Blood of the Moon! Thanks for all of the encouragement guys. Just looking to spread some holiday cheer. Maybe this will get some other people to do the same. If you're looking for more l00t I'm doing a little dice giveaway over on Reddit. Fat l00t
In the spirit of holiday giving (and stealing ideas from fellow gamers ) I'll be giving away my hard copies of Blood of the Moon, We Be Goblins Too and Masks of The Living God. They're all in good shape, but We Be Goblins Too is slightly used (it's provided my tables with tons of fun, so know I'm passing it on). I have randomly generated 3 different numbers between 1-50 for each book. To enter, say what book you want, and pick a number. Whoever guesses the number will get the book. Please only pick one book that you want. Example: Quote:

Thus, I am likely going to throw other critters are the PCs (since it is not dictated what she summons)... stuff like Fiendish Dire Lions. She can cast these from while invisible, and as a standard action. She can't summon anything Fiendish as a standard. Sacred summons only applies to creatures who start out as the subtype. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/sacred-summons
About Summon Monster IX, it seems Krune does know it, but doesn't have it prepared. In hard mode it seems to state he doesn't know Wish, but does know SMIX. Quote:
Am I correct in interpreting it like this? SMIX seems to be a better and more logical choice, due to him being a conjurer, use of his Arcane Bond than something like another Horrid Wilting.
Pirate Rob wrote: Krune does not have a normal spellbook, it's all in his tattoos. For the purposes of the scenario I would only use it to cast things that he has prepared. (Or wish on hard mode) There are plenty of cool options without looking for other spells. I'm thinking SMIX should do the trick. Ice Devil with at will Cone of Cold (13d6) and Walls of Ice or Astral Deva with at will Plane Shift, Holy Word, invisibility and a badass hammer. Both sound good!
I'm seriously confused as to why we don't get a spellbook for Krune. How are we supposed to know what spells he can recall with his arcane bond? As far as I can tell, the only level 9 spells he knows are: Foresight, Summon Monster IX and Wish. His level 8 spells are only Horrid Wilting. This can't be right. What should we do when he wants to arcane bond a spell?
Shfish wrote: Chris, did you not read my line about that? I bluff the heck out of it as their sins convicting them....that is why they feel evil... :) Just because you lie to your party, it doesn't make it any better. I'm sure there are plenty of characters, a few of mine included, who would rather die than be anointed in devil's blood. "You anoint a wounded creature with devil’s blood or unholy water, giving it fast healing 1."
Conning commoners out of a few copper for some snake oil, sure. Conning a high intelligence wizard out of his livelyhood, nope. It all comes down to the PCs not being mindless chumps. You assume that just because the GM can crank hit point doesn't mean he can crank diplomacy checks. Have you thought maybe GMs don't want their players to have ridiculous wealth because they have a +20 diplomacy at level 2? Its not lazy gaming, its rational gaming.

This was my line of though too. I'm thinking of just dropping the armor and getting more offense. I have an Ioun Stone of CON. I have fiend totem and an Amulet of Mighty Fists, which I'd like to keep. I'm going Dex belt because I need more AOO's for CAGM.

I forgot to mention I am an Invulnerable Rager, and I have CAGM.
My Barbarian just hit level 12, and I'm looking to play him in Eyes of the Ten (PFS level 12 scenarios). As of right now, my primary concern is his lack of defense (stats below). I'm looking for advice on how to boost this. I'm half tempted to just go armor-less and just rely on my HP and healing. Spoiler: Hit Points: 179 / 227 Raging AC: 19 (6 armor, 2 Dex, 1 deflection) / 14 Raging Important items: +2 Chain Shirt, Ring of Protection +1, Belt of Str +2, Amulet of Mighty Fists Important class info: Invulnerable Rager (DR6/-), Come and Get Me rage power, Raging Vitality feat 27148 gold after selling +2 Chain Shirt and Ring of Protection +1 Possible AC

You can buy any Always Available item, any legal item whose cost you qualify for based on your Fame (Fame 0-4 doesn't allow you to buy any extra items - it didn't before, but the text was ambiguous and has been clarified), any item on one of your Chronicle Sheets, or spend PA for any legal item up to 750 gp. Starglim is correct.
Looking for some ideas of some rooms in the "home" of an insane wizard. Basically, this wizard lives in a giant snake-like aquatic machine and has done so for nearly a hundred years. In this time he only has a small group of adventurers that he sees once a month. Other than that he is in complete solitude. I'm looking for ideas on rooms that may have come out of his experiments and research. Pretty much anything is possible as the amount of magic at his disposal is vast. The campaign is heavily into planar travel, evil entities (Devils, Demons, Daemons, Crime lords, etc.) and the "fall" of the gods. I've already got a few rooms going, but any ideas or advice would be great.

Having pockets just falls back on my assumption that it is item retrieval. That's how I've seen any non-weapon item GMed as, and that's how I GM it. My apologies for assuming you were being snarky (too much time on forums I guess). I just thought you meant it was obvious because you could do it in real life.

Really? I always thought people just walked around without pants... Hmm. Seriously though, I'm just giving my opinion on how something would work due to their not actually being a rule. Just because it would work in real life, doesn't mean it applies to PF. I think it's going to be a standard action to draw as I see it as item retrieval, but I may be wrong. There's no reason to be snarky.

I'm just looking at RAW not RAI. Sure you could fit plenty of items into a belt, boots, pockets, etc. but there's no actual ruling on whether or not you can actually do this. By the same logic, I could just tie several bands around me in a tight manner to create as much holding as I want. Again, correct me if I'm wrong.
" If your weapon or weapon-like object is stored in a pack or otherwise out of easy reach, treat this action as retrieving a stored item." This is why I mentioned the Haversack and Wrist Sheath. As far as I know there is no "wand holster" so, I always assume its in a bag or something like a wrist sheath. I may eb wrong on this, as I don't have my UE on hand. |
