Mal gave the Doctor a blank look and then nodded, accepting the assistance to get out of the dangerous situation. "Thank you."
Having brought a lot of attention to himself and getting shot in his secret identity and made a fool of himself, Mal saw a bunch of others (some in costume) seeming to handle the villains somewhat handily. So he decided to stay down and pretend to be an idiot innocent bystander that had gotten himself shot, and stays down along with all the other non-heroes and villains in the crowd.
Dr. Icarus...to be clear, Mal has his gear on him, but is in his secret identity and didn't want to just armor up in public since there are cameras that would record his secret identity. Don't worry about Mal. I'm not sure he's going to be grouping up with you all.
Whatever's whatever, but next time please describe the crowd better if you could. I would have thought that an armored truck crashing in to the room should have had everyone on their feet and backpedaling at the very least. But I didn't realize they weren't so that's my bad. =P
Uh not really since I got shot before I got my armor on, which means unless I roll a nat 20 I can't make it, but even with a Hero Point still pretty hurt, lol.
Mal doesn't make it to the bathroom, but instead drops like a sack of potatoes when shot.

Mal was on the edge of his seat, practically brimming with excitement, having to force himself to sit still during the presentation, force himself not to bounce his legs or tap his fingers or anything. He bit his lip to keep a big smile off of his face...which quickly turned in to shock and surprise as the armored truck literally crashed in to the meeting! He stood up quickly and then looked down and realized he wasn't in his armor! He frowned and looked around for a place to change, hurrying towards the nearest non-secured door he could see, ducking in to the bathroom and triggering his armor once out of sight of people.
Knack was so excited! Oracle was releasing the biggest 'new thing' today and he was going to be there for it, come hell or high water! It had taken some saving and scrimping but he'd manage to get enough money together to buy his way in to the release. The company's products relied a bit too much on the whole 'Greek' naming themes for his taste, but it made it a bit more exotic and certainly wasn't a deal-breaker by any means. And they were usually pretty wiz, even if most of the time he had to get used or second-hand goods himself. He smiled as he looked around, pack on his back. He wasn't expecting any trouble but he almost never left the house without his gear anymore. What if he saw a crime being committed on his way to the store, for instance? And, hell, half the time he flew most places anyway just to get more practice on the hoverboard. He rubbed his hands together and then tried to still himself and exert patience as he waited for the unveiling.

Also, for those not Batman (since it's been too long since they posted I believe), you can dot in the gameplay thread and then delete it and it will still count as being added to your Campaigns. And that way we don't have a bunch of "dot" posts in the beginning of the gameplay thread.
Doctor Icarus, I think you are missing a skill rank for Craft Chemical by the way. 1. Where do you character live? Mal has basement-level apartment in Brooklyn where he is also the handyman for the apartment building, and technically stays at his folks' home near Jamaica Bay a lot as well. 2. Where do you character work? Mainly he works as a handyman at his apartment building, but he also helps with the family's auto-garage and junkyard business, Bertram's Repair and Salvage. 3. What villain (established or new creation) could be a great nemesis for you? Oooh. That's tough. Maybe we could get a Kingpin-type character with powers and/or powered lieutenants. "The Albino" in the Underground, never seen by those who work for him, except his trusted upper echelon, but all pay tribute to him (or so they say). His real identity is that of rich entrepreneur and philanthropist Harold Whitehead (who is not in fact an Albino, but merely playing off his last name for a creepy nom de guerre, even going so far as to wear a white mask and white suit when he must appear as the Albino). Just throwing out ideas, and if no one likes the above I won't be offended. For Knack more personally, I don't know there are tons of good villains, Spidey villains especially, in New York! Hm. Maybe someday his older brother will go mad and become his nemesis lol. 4. What are your Complications? Arachnaphobia, Responsibility (Family Obligations and Handyman at his Apartment Building), and Secret Identity 5. Let's look for some connections between characters? Is there one of us who can serve as the Daredevil (who assembled the first Marvel Knights group)/Nick Fury (who assembled the movie Avengers)? Or do we need an NPC to do that? Does anyone know each other in Secret ID but not in Hero ID? (That could be fun). Well, I'm happy to have connections with other PCs, but looking over them briefly I don't know that there would be an easy way around just getting together for their first adventure or being brought together by an NPC. 6. What do you want out of your character development? (broad strokes are fine) Knack is a raw rookie still, so I think it will be fun to see him stumble and eventually come in to his own as a super-hero. I want to occasionally dip in to the family of his - they know his secret identity so one day they may get pulled in to that world. Of course, he eventually wants to meet a great woman and fall in love, but fears he won't get the chance.
