An arcane caster (Arcanist or Wizard, or something like that) Kitsune looking for a home. I've always wanted to try Rise of the Runelords, but I never caught an open call for it before it filled. That said, I am willing to play other adventures.

Kiwyn follows after Khloey as the girl runs inside. She catches up as Khloey is struck with the scene of her home in ruins.
Once the girl is ready, the little wizard will help her up into the saddle before climbing up behind her. She draws Noroikawa up into the middle of the group's formation for Khloey's protection.
Kiwyn looks over at Simon at the mention of the church or an orphanage. "She still has family, we can't just drop her at an orphanage." She glances at Zhan, about to say something when Khloey speaks up. The kitsune puts her arms around the child and hugs her comfortingly. "Agreed, we can retrieve Khloey's belongings and sweep the outskirts for signs of life." After eating, Kiwyn takes Khloey back to the room to pack up and get ready to leave. They then rejoin the others.
Flex, night before:
Kiwyn quickly pulls her fingers back from the amulet. Her breathing coming it short and quick as the image lingers in her mind.
"How sad." She thinks, wiping a tear from her cheek. She carefully sets it on a scavenged piece of cloth. Focusing on the amulet as she beings a soft arcane chant her eyes seem to become unfocused, even as her sight expands to include bits of the unseen.
Setting aside her book the little wizard takes a deep, relaxing breath before moving to wake Khloey for breakfast. "Good morning little one." Kywin smiles cheerfully.

I am back online now. A shiny new laptop sitting before me. :)
Sorry, I may be a bit before I can post again. My laptop cord broke and the battery died. I borrowed the wifey's pad to post this notice. Hopefully I can replace it before Monday.
I do not believe we had the opportunity to identify anything yet.
As the group sifts through the contents of the chest Kiwyn notices what appears to be a false bottom to the chest. Making a mental note of it she decides to wait until the group secures shelter for the night before investigating further.
Once at the garrison the wizard lets Khloey help her stable Noroikawa for the night. Showing the young girl how to remove the saddle, the bags and the harness before giving the horse a proper grooming and feeding him.
Moving to the chest Kiwyn carefully begins pulling out its contents and arranging them. Once empty, she looks again and nods. "There's a hidden compartment in the bottom." She says, looking back at the men then back at the chest utters a chat and gestures with her fingers.
*sits and waits patiently, whistling cheerfully*
Kiwyn nods in agreement and helps Khloey up into the saddle before climbing up behind her. "A meal and a night rest I think will have us all feeling better come the morning I think." She tries to sound encouraging and optimistic.
Just waiting on Meridian and Silent now I guess.
It's not polite to poke a lady.
Kiwyn hugs Khloey back just as tightly. "I am so sorry that happen child. I promise to never give up on you." "I thought I had lost her for a moment. I had almost given up, but not again. She promises herself. Catching sight of the setting sun Kiwyn looks up at the others. "We should find someplace in town to to stay the night. Some place we can secure." She pauses to think a moment before offering her opinions for possible places to hole up the night.
Kiwyn shields her eyes as the stone flashes. She blinks a bit as it subsides.
I'm afraid Kiwyn may be feeling a little out of her league as well. This is looking to be beyond her abilities, but she will try to put on a strong front for the girl's sake.
Kiwyn blinks in confusion of her own when 'Simon' rushes to her and begins 'rambling'. But looking into 'his' eyes Kiwyn begins to comprehend what had happened. "Of course. Moving a soul from one vessel to another would require a powerful necromantic magic." Kiwyn places her hands on 'Simon's shoulders and smiles at the scared little girl inside. "Shh, shh.. Your body is fine little one." She puts a hand on 'his' cheek. "We will find a way to put things right." It's about then the wizard realizes the other half of the problem and looks up at the others with some concern. "Where is Simon then?"

I didn't change the spell slot yet. I wasn't sure if you meant to just pick another spell of 3rd level or lesser.
Kiwyn recites a few unlady-like words as she pants from her efforts. The magic on Khloey's body was just too powerful for her to effect. She looks back the way she had rode, back in Simon and the others' direction.
Glad to see you're back dear Silverbane.
"You are right, I am too stubborn for my own good. But perhaps I can be stubborn enough for her good." Kiwyn drops the detect magic and begins chanting a new spell. Her hand forming complex gestures and motions. Ancient arcane words flow from her lips forming unseen ribbons of magical energy the begin entwining Khloey’s still form. The kitsune’s magic attempts to pierce the magical aura surrounding the girl. Trying to disentangle it from her, pulling at it so as to unravel it.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Enjoy yourselves tomorrow.
Was really hoping to get a little more info before attempting to dispel it. But I don't think so with those rolls. :p
"Of course, of course, how could I have been so thoughtless." Kiwyn berates herself. "I let the grief blind me."
"Please, grant me the understanding. Why did you allow us to find this girl only to claim her so soon?" Kiwyn asked softly as she prayed. "Did I do something wrong? If so, I beg you why punish another?"
Trying her best to clear her mind Kiwyn takes a deep breath and exhales it slowly. Still holding Khloey's hand in one of hers, the little wizard begins casting Detect Magic on the girl.
Kiwyn carefully takes Khloey's still form back from Zhan and cradles it. As the two ride off she brushes the girls bangs aside. "I am so sorry little one." She realizes the possible danger of the girl reanimating as the others had and glances around briefly. Locating a suitable spot the kitsune carefully dismounts and carries the girl to a clear spot. Laying her down, she kneels beside the girl and draws her dagger. Setting it in her lap she takes the girl's had and holds it as she prays in her native language.
Even as Zhan attempts to help Khloey, Kiwyn knows the little girl has gone to see her ancestors. The tears have already filled her eyes and began to run down her cheeks. She hasn't even noticed the others exiting the wreckage. It is taking all of her self control not to just break into sobs as she did when she first found the girl lying in the street.
Kiwyn slows Nowa as they approach the docks, allowing Zhan to catch up. The kitsune takes a calming breath and nods. "I apologize for my outburst. I did not think of your abilities, only that what had happen to this town was unholy, and that our companion was a cleric. I suppose I thought he could help somehow." She looks down at Khloey as Zhan checks her forehead, obvious concern on the wizard's face.
Simon's reaction helped to push Kiwyn's reaction. She was so concerned with Khloey she didn't stop to think like she normally would. It was a big sisterly instinct I guess.
Kiwyn is extremely fearful that she has somehow endangered Khloey by accident. And that has made her very angry at herself.
“Hmm?” Kiwyn looks down at Khloey when she says she doesn’t feel well, drawing her attention away from Simon. But when she falls limp against her the Kitsune instantly concerned. “Khloey!” She manages to cry out before Simon nearly pulls her from the saddle by yanking off her bag.
She was about to yell at him, wondering if the human had just gone mad. "No time! Something about the stone is effecting her!" Simon snarls, running up and snatching the bag and moving away from the child. "Get her clear of it!" Kiwyn finally notices the glow coming from her pack and bites back the profanity she was about to say. ”Signal the others.” She barks at Zhan. With a stern yank she turns Noroikawa causing the horse to fuss and the suddenness of the command. She mutters in her native Tien and pushes the horse to a gallop in the direction the other group had ventured off in. She needed the aquatic cleric.
Kiwyn stops the horse and readies herself just in case something bad happens. "Only one ray left until I have a chance to rest." She worries to herself. "Need to make it count if I use it."
As the trio moves through the streets the kitsune's hopes for finding any survivors dwindles with every unanswered door. "Do you think we will find anyone?" Kiwyn tries to sound hopeful for Khloeys's sake, but Simon and Zhan's experienced ears can most likely hear the subtle despair in her tone.
Kiwyn looks down each path with equal intrest, but agrees with Simon's call to check the housing first. As they move along she watches to windows as Simon knocks and calls out, looking for movement or signs of life.
Kiwyn helps Khloey up into Noroikawa's saddle before climbing up herself. "Hold on tight."
Kiwyn gives a nod and looks between Zhan and Simon. "I didn't see if the church or the town hall were still standing, I wasn't looking for them." She admits.
Kiwyn bit her lower lip. She felt a little ashamed for not thinking the survivors could still be in peril. Slowly she nodded in agreement. "You are right. We should see about the possible survivors."

New spells... check
When would you like use to level up our sheets? Also, I was close. Zhan recovered some kind of book from the wreckage, that was what I was thinking of. It may contain some useful info.
With a little soap and water and a fresh set of clothes it was almost as if this were a different girl. Kiwyn could not help but smile at the change in her mood. She used her own brush to get Khloey's hair into some order.
Once she has gathered everything she can for the two of them she regroups with the others.
”My vote would be to head to Camden.” The wizard offers. ”We already know Khloey’s god-parents are there. Also with its size, we should be able to find more help and information on this Brotherhood or the Tear.” Kiwyn looks down at Khloey, smiles and gives her hand a little squeeze.
Taking Khloey by the hand she heads towards what is left of the market area. Kiwyn hopes to find clothing, supplies, and food for the girl. As the move along she will attempt to distract Khloey from the bodies still around.
Kiwyn hugged the sobbing little girl and stroked her hair. "I understand." She bit her lower lip as she remembered the older woman who had seemingly died to protect Khloey. She had was sure it had been her mother. Kiwyn could not, though, begin to speculate on her father's where abouts. The kitsune could only hope they did not find him in a state where they would have to defend the girl from her own father. Forcing herself not to frown or dwell on that possibility she used her sleeve to wipe Khloey's tears and give her a small smile to reassure her. "Very well then. We will simply have to find you some new clothes."
*chuckles* I suppose I did. I just have no idea how to use it, or if it's even safe. :p
I would like to echo the others in saying that a gift for our patience is a kind offer, but it is unnecessary. Life happens to the best of us and we are happy just having you back when you are able. Will I turn down something shiny or something to help the plot along? Not unless I thought it would be too much and make the game unfair. After all, I can't wait to see where things go from here. And getting there is half the fun. Also, on a side note, didn't someone pick up a a spellbook at the beached ship?
The little girl listens to Kiwyn, unaware of the man, before speaking. "My name is Khloey." "Khloey you say. Well now. isn't that a pretty name." Kiwyn smiles at the girl. "That plan makes sense, Kiwyn," Robert says. "We should also decide where we should go next." Looking up at the gillman as he speaks the kitsune nods in agreement. "I suppose that may depend on the little one here." She looks back at Khloey for a moment before the others begin discussing how best to deal with their captive. She gets a sense that they are trying to intimidate the man, but can not help frowning. Robert frowns. "If you're going to treat a man like some animal for the slaughter, please don't expect me to sit by and watch. I understand your reasoning but at least treat him without cruelty, as a being, not as a beast to put down lest we become but beasts ourselves. "I have to agree with Robert." Says as she stands up. "Besides, this should not be talked of in front of one so young." Holding Khloey's hand she takes Nowa's reigns and looks to Robert. "If you care to join us, we are going to look around for supplies." Kiwyn starts to lead the girl and horse off, leaving the others to get what information they can out of their captive with having to worry about scaring the poor girl further. She was beginning to grow fond of the little girl, but she knew that they would have to take her someplace safe to stay. As they walk she looks down at the girl and tries to think of delicate way to ask the following questions. "Khloey, you're going to need clothes and such. Where did you live? Also, do you have any family outside of town? Someone you can stay with?"
Kiwyn breathed a sigh of relief when Simon returned. "This one and his fellows are just as responsible as their leash holders. They deserve whatever happens to them. " The little wizard glared at their captive then quickly returned her attention to the girl. "If we are going to investigate the town, that could take some time. We should find what supplies we can, food and such, especially now that we a have an extra mouth to feed." Leading the girl out of the jail she whistles for her own horse. A few moments later Noroikawa trots up with Simon's horse. "I'm glad horses are herd animals. I figured they would keep each other safe." She comments as she pats the horse's neck. Kiwyn takes a moment to introduce Nowa to the girl when she realizes, in all of the confusion she had not learned the girl's name. Kiwyn crouches down and gives the girl a small friendly smile. "I think it's time we properly introduced ourselves. My name is Kiwyn and this is Noroikawa." She motions at the horse who only snorts at the sound of his name. "It means 'lazy rivier'. I call him that because he loves to just plot along slowly when he can. But he's a good horse and he can run when I ask him to." She then takes turns motioning to each of the others in the group and introducing them before finally smiling at the girl and asking her own name. "So what should we call you?"
