So I haven't been playing in a loooooong time due to my group having dissipated on account of mixed schedules. I'm trying to get back into writing and a lot of my inspiration comes from D&d/Pathfinder. I have a character concept in mind for someone whose essentially a guardian of a forest. I'm thinking ranger/arcane archer; ranger/arcane trickster; or something along those lines.

He basically guides the PC/Main party towards a rare interaction with the "Dryad Queen" who delivers information on what the PC's mission entails, where to journey to, and prepares them with an unexpected surprise.

This character is high level with connections across the continent, though he's but a young prodigy. Hope to see some creative builds that'll inspire me to take this character to the next level :)

So I'll be starting a 5th lvl nightblade-path of the bloodied chain.
Have not received info on how much gold etc we are starting with.

Nightblade - https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/ascension-games-llc/nigh tblade/

Specific Path - https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/ascension-games-llc/nigh tblade/paths/path-of-the-bloodied-chain/

Looks to me to be a control/fear build concept but I have no idea how to make it efficient.

Race: Kitsune

Rolls (not adjusted by class):

16
12
13
10
17
12

If I'm forgetting any info please let me know as I am quite a bit rusty XD

Alright so I haven't played in FOREVER and finally found a campaign. Desperately need help optimizing a build as this class isn't common enough class for me to look up builds for.

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/ascension-games-llc/night blade/paths/path-of-the-bloodied-chain/

Only stipulation is the character has to be Kitsune. It's a 21 point buy. The character's concept is to become fear incarnate and take down those who abuse their power to bring suffering to the weak and less fortunate.

I have 5. I'm about to buy 4 and 3. What is everyone's favorite? I have to buy 4 hands down. 3 is up for debate. I don't have them to look over to see which I prefer as I am purchasing through Amazon.

So I went to my first PFS session in person (second pfs session in general). I would have loved it if not for two seven year old kids joining in and simply being beyond annoying and having little attention span or respect for other players.

From the sounds of it they will start showing up at all of the local events... Awesome. Where can I get info on how/when to play through roll20? I know I've joined a pfs through there a loooooooong time ago.

Trying to build a half-elf Oradin (paladin oracle)

What class should I take first level? I'll have to take Fey Foundling as my first feat. Stats expected to look like:
STR 16
DEX 10
CON 14
INT 9
WIS 7
CHA 16 (with the +2 racial bonus)

Basically gonna weild a 2 handed weapon plus armor. If not familiar with concept of the Oradin basically creates a life-link that takes damage done to allies on to myself instead then uses lay on hands as swift action to heal myself instead of chasing them around the map, allowing me to still fight in the same round.

Also I know nothing of religion so recommendations on what god to follow?

So my pathfinder group is falling apart due to time conflicts. I have only played home brew campaigns in the past and definitely prefer the availability of 3rd party options but right now I just want to play... If anybody could give me tips on what they would recommend to play in pfs or how to start it up it would be greatly appreciated!

So I am going to be creating some new characters and doing some home roleplays with my fiance. I am looking for interesting ideas and to see what class/concepts people most enjoyed playing.

Currently I have only played three characters but my newest is quickly beginning to be my favorite. He is a Kitsune Nightblade, Path of the Bloodied Chain (yes it's 3rd party). Basically his goal is to assassinate his ancestor (my first character who was a badass ninja consumed by a demonic blade).

My goal with him as a character is to become a vigilante that personifies fear incarnate. He is very wicked in his ploys to punish those who cause suffering to others. He has abilities that are shadow-based which allow him to alter the level of darkness, trap people in an area of altered darkness, and scare the living s@+@ out of them while wielding a scythe and casting shadow magic for dmg.

Basically as a child his family was outcast due to their infamous ancestor bringing them disgrace in the community. Him and his sister were constantly bullied and roughed up by the other kids. One day they were chased deep into the forest to an area that is forbidden. He had distracted the attention from his sister to save her and after being caught the other kids went to far this time, beating him to the brink of death. From that state he is contacted by a demon offering to grant him powers simply for bringing others suffering.

The children began freaking out and gathered in a circle talking about how they had gone too far this time and didn't know what to do with this body. As this was happening Hisoka (my character) began to raise back up overcome with a maddness and newfound power. Shadow-like chains formed from the ground as the area grew darker. The chains shot out at the other children, dragging them, constricting, and sufficating them to a slow death.

Upon waking from this maddness, Hisoka realized what he'd done and that this place was no longer home for him. He ran as far as he could, finding himself in a rundown suburb and began to learn more about life and the suffering of others. From here he decided that it would be his life's mission to bring justice to those who cause suffering as well as his ambition to assassinate his grandfather.

(The demon he spoke with happened to be his grandmother's father as his grandmother is tiefling)

But yeah he has been a complete badass to play ^_^

Alright so I believe the route I was advised a long time ago had to do with cornegun smash or something. Here is a link to my character currently.

http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=919003

Note, I have a teammate that can cast darkness and my entire team has darkvision. I was looking at a spell that traps people in an area of low light or darker vision as well to go along with my Umbral Shackles ability.

Any advice on how I can make my character more useful would be great!

Alright, so I am creating a character who I want to maximize my intimidate potential with. I am currently writing down every feat that interests me, although I am a pretty inexperienced player so I am asking for personal feedback. The race and class are set in stone and I'm using a third party class called Nightblade (Path of bloodied chains) just in case you would like to briefly look over it to get a feel for the characters play style.

Also, here is the character sheet.
http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=919003

As for where I need help, please read below and offer any suggestions you may have.

I apologize that this is going to be a pretty extensive list... It's my first time going through the feat list a-z
Potential Feats:

Acrobatics Spellcaster
Agile Maneuvers
Arcane strike
Armor focus
Combat Reflexes
Cornugon shield
Critical Improved
Dazzling Display
Demoralizing Lash
Combat Patrol
Disheartening Display
Dodge
Fury's Fall
Fury's snare
Gloom Strike
Killing Flourish
Frightening Ambush
Gory finish
Gruesom Slaughter
Mobility
Moonlight Stalker
Piranha Strike
Quick draw
Weapon specialization - Scythe or bladed whip
Whip mastery - if using whip

Note: This character is a Dex build. The GM has allowed me to have weapon finess to my scythe or bladed whip whichever I end up using without expending a feat.

Magical Items:
Have yet to research this for intimidation purposes so please let me know if you know of anything good :)

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/ascension-games-llc/night blade#TOC-Spells

So this appears to be a crowd control oriented class to me. I'm not entirely sure how to build him to fight though as I have very limited experience in pathfinder/d&d with only having played up to level 3 barbarian and level 12 Ninja.

Here is my current character sheet for the character:
http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=919003

I do not know whether to make the character melee, ranged, both, or how exactly to play him in combat.

The concept is that he is a very dark individual whose grandfather (my previous character) has become a ridiculously powerful possessed son of a b@!@* that he wants to seal away/defeat. He has since spent his life sifting through the darkness to learn techniques to help defeat his grandfather (who is a ninja and very hard to pinpoint).

Any tips on combat building would be greatly appreciated. Any flavor ideas are welcomed as well.
Note: I'm wanting to create an intimidate-oriented build.

So I had a lvl 12 kitsune ninja that I fell in love with in my first campaign. The GM is re-starting our campaign but 200 years in advance. I am not sure I want to play.

Part of me wants to do a decedent of my original character and part of me wants to try something else.

Rolled stats are....
17, 17, 13, 12, 12, 8

I was looking at prestige classes but am unsure if they are worth using or not. I was considering arcane trickster, dragon disciple, and shadow dancer.

Sooooo give me cool ideas?

Ok, so I am running my first campaign. There is a character (the prince of the starting kingdom) who was framed for his sisters murder and forced to escape the kingdom. I am thinking ninja based because he is going to become a key ally to the PC's and he will be stealthy to spy, gather info, and elude capture through disguises.

His weapons will have the Merciful ability as he is a chaotic good character. That along with a ninja's vanishing trick/sneak attack would probably go along with his concept. Seeing as he is the prince of a kingdom though, he will have access to crazy magical items. What would you guys suggest as far as build and items?

As stated in the topic, my character is a Kitsune Ninja. I have about 6,000 gold and I was wondering what magical item are great with ninjas. Does anyone have any recommendations?

So my girl is multi-classing into hunter and she will gain an animal companion. She is wanting the tiger. Is there any guidance on what we can do, how to optimize it, etc? One thing we were wondering is how you can raise it's int and what that would do. If there is any other wisdom on the matter out there it would be greatly appreciated.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Ok, so I'm creating characters of classes I've never played as I am very new to this. I'm creating my own world/campaign slowly and I need some characters to test run things and to broaden my knowledge to prepare to eventually one day become a GM. Right now I'm wanting to build a druid, but I'm not sure what exactly to do with this one.

I initially started with a concept of that guy from mortal kombat that shape shifts to a wolf; aka transforming into a badass wolf. But in all honesty I'm open to anything. If I could get a few different concepts/ideas from more experienced players on what the routes are I can take with a druid as well as strats on how to play them etc I would love you guys.

Each of these characters will become a special npc during the actual campaign :D

Ok, so I'm playing a ninja with 8 wisdom... SAVE ME! Granted I'm being allowed to use a feat that lets me use cha mod for will saves rather than my wis mod. But what is the best will save trait and or other things to help out? My GM created a cursed weapon I have to use that has a will save every attack to prevent from attacking teammates :/

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Ok, so I am in the process of creating my own fantasy world for my girl and I to eventually GM. However, I'm looking for ways to make this a much different and surreal experience for our future players. I have watched a lot of video's in which I'm incorporating a much of the information/ideas from so here is my question to you guys: What are your favorite non-conventional monsters, tasks, quests, etc that you have experienced as a player or used as a GM?

I refuse to have the stereotypical "Oh, you're level one... Goblins!" mentality. That's like listening to the same song every day for a year on the radio. I am still very inexperienced even as a player so if at all possible please keep the CR relatively low for low-mid lvl.

I would love some quality missions that aren't necessarily go, kill, find stuff, get reward. I'm not much on puzzles so the more help I can get on my weakness the better.

Here is the link to my character:
http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=183988

I am extremely new Pathfinder. I decided to choose a Spiritualist Investigator as my class and my race is a Tielfing. I need some advice in regarding what feats I should select next and also what skills I need to build. I will greatly appreciate any equipment and item suggestions as well.

In addition, what investigator talent should I consider learning?

Thank you.

Ok, so I made a post previously and have taken a lot of the info into consideration. I'm trying to fine-tune my gameplan so here is what I'm thinking so far...

I mostly need help with what feats to take. I'm pretty sure what ninja tricks I'm interested in but absolutely clueless on feats. Also, I would like to know what magical items you guys would recommend. We will be involved in a lot of shady things.

Character Sheet: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=1064815

lvl 1: Weapon Finesse
2: Combat trick: TWF
3: Realistic Likeness (Kitsune feat: allows to disguise as anyone I've seen)
4: Vanishing Trick
5: ?
6: Fast stealth trick
(Kitsune favored class for rogue gives 1/6th rogue talent, so I'm going to see if DM will allow ninja trick as it is an archtype)
6-2: Shadow Clone
7: ?
8: Sudden disguise?
9: ?
10: Invisible Blade

Soooooo yeah I have no clue what I'm doing lol. Basically just looking off of what sounds fun.

Ok, so my girl is playing pathfinder with me for the first time. We are both very new at this. Her character is a tiefling and her ultimate goal is to take over territory through politics and or deadly means in order to create a country that welcomes people of all heritages.

Sooooo.... How does one even begin/do such a thing?

So my girl and I are trying our hand in a campaign as a ninja and an investigator. So far it's just the two of us although a third friend is joining next weekend (we don't know his class yet). We are a chaotic/neutral aligned group and make some very poor decisions so far. At the moment I'm considering a disguise based ninja (leveling up to 2 for next week) and because of my lack of experience I'm looking for help with build and ideas that may prolong our longevity lol.

My character is a Kitsune so disguise is already a great idea for it. I'm just trying to find out what to do to build a ninja and what I can do in order to elude notice or send skeptics misdirections?

Here is a link to my lvl 1 character so far: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=1064815

Ok, I'm very inexperienced with the roleplaying world. I want to play a Kitsune ninja that is a disguise based assassin who impersonates people's appearance in order to frame or to simply elude suspicion.

He has to be very charismatic as I am going to play him as someone who likes to be the center of attention and extremely friendly in public so that others have no clue as to his darker nature.

Alright, so my buddy and I are both making our first ninja's for a campaign starting today. I'm very inexperienced at rping and am looking for some advice on what items would be the most useful.

My ninja is going to be a disguise based assassin since he's a Kitsune, probably duel wielding either wakizashi or kukri. Haven't decided on a backup/ranged weapon as of yet so any ideas on that would be appreciated as well.

Ok, so I'm going to try out my first ninja ever. I want to NOT go the ooooh duel weild the same weapon as every other freakin ninja route, without sacrificing my combat prowess too much.

What I know so far:
Race: Kitsune
Archtype: Scout + Kitsune Trickster?
Note: Going to ask dm if I can take Kitsune's Guile and have it replace ninja's poison at first lvl rather than a rogue's trapfinding (which I won't have as a ninja)

Going Dex build then cha and haven't rolled stats yet.
(I will be the face and will be utilizing diplomacy/bluff/disguises quite a bit)

Kitsune Feats of Interest: *'s = Highly Prefered
-*Realistic Likeness* (will be disguising as/impersonating ppl)
-*Magical Tail*: Disguise Self, charm person, invisibility (will try to convince DM to allow me to be selective rather than have to learn them all)

Feats of Interest:
-Dodge
-Improved Initiative
-Extra ki
-Iron Will
-Point blank shot
-Rapid Shot
-Weapon Finesse & Focus
-Combat Reflexes
-Agile Manuevers (if using the kusarigama)
-*Quickdraw*

Ninja Tricks of interest:
-Combat Trick
-Flurry of Stars
-Shadow Clone
-Weapon Training
-Rogue Talent: Offensive Defence, False Friend
-Vanishing Trick

Master Tricks of Interest:
-*Invisible Blade*
-Feat
-Advanced Talents
--crippling strike
--*opportunist*
-Assassinate
-Ghost Step
-Evasion

Weapon Idea: Shuriken/Kusarigama? (note, I will have another ninja in the party to flank with constantly) Not sure about other member(s) classes. Not sure if this is a viable combo.

Ok, now that things that sound fun for me are out on the plate, please organize my dreams into something realistic! Keep in mind I'm constantly flanking with another ninja, intend to do a lot of disguise/info gathering/potential assassinations/political bs etc ;)

I would like to play a Kitsune ninja, who focuses on disguise and trickery/manipulation/charisma. I have until Saturday to have something set in stone so I'm looking for more knowledgeable experts to help me make my concept a viable character as I have only played pathfinder twice to level 3.

I would like to be somewhat useful in battle, but strengths in charisma, spying, etc. Any thoughts?

I would also like to utilize one or more unique ninja weapons, aside from the stereo-typical katana (although I'm not opposed to it either).

Some possible interests: The weapon that's attatched on both ends to a chain (not sure what it's called) And another oriental weapon similar to a polearm.
