"...Little one?" Kitai remarks, wiping the sleep from his eyes. After a moment he takes a look. "Yes, tactical retreat. We don't want them chasing us forever but a place to regroup in more favorable terrain is best."

Do I not get a save? You're throwing so many saves I can't keep up. Particularly since I'm not sure how one Sleep spell is hitting everybody.

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Shaken for sure. GM call: Can an Entangled creature scrape off a Tanglefoot bag entirely, or is that just for downgrading from "stuck" to "Entangled"?

Missed this. Kitai charges in at one of the frog men and stabs with the spear. Bronze Lancet Charge: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Bronze Lancet Charge lets me charge without provoking, and adds an extra 1d6 damage.

Kitai lets fly with his phantom spear. Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
At the point of contact a spiral of wind forms, sweeping the creature's feet out from under it. Trip: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Success or failure, Kitai moves closer to them. Standard: Attack, Swift: Wind Burst, Move action: Move 40 feet

Kitai simply starts spearing some eels with his, well, spear. It is well designed for this sort of work. Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

"I feel we are in no hurry. I could spear some unagi if this one wishes it." He pauses a moment. "And some extra for later, as well. Do any of you know how to cook?"

"Which other way do we go? And what hurry are we in?" The Drow needs to be gone before people come looking for her. Not sure why we need to be.

While still looking around: "Apologies, I am unfamiliar with this language's nuance. I did not realize you were also a follower of the kami-no-michi. I prefer our words. 'Flow' is confusing. Overlaps with another word." "At least you do not worship the strange western gods. I have heard tales of Zuus and O-din. They seem quaint deities. Strange to put all your faith in flawed humans with power." *IS SMOTE*

"You worship rivers? It seems limited." Kitai starts looking for a way forward, or anything useful. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Okay, I think I have everything back in place. Seeing how little his phantom spear did to this huge creature, he moves in and stabs it with the real thing. Bronze Lancet Charge: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Full round to use Bronze Lancet Charge, which lets me charge without provoking and adds an extra 1d6 damage to the attack.

Regardless of my order in Initiative, my action is this: Kitai does not think, he merely acts, a ghostly replica of his new spear appearing in hand. He makes a throwing motion, and though he does not release his spear the spectral version flies far and fast at the large beast. Spear: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
+1 hit/damage if I can move within 30 feet. So: Swift enter Phantom Sun Stance, Standard to attack, and a Move to move if I'm further than 30 feet.

"Underground? I thought it was just nighttime here." Kitai twirls his new spear, testing the balance, then snaps it down to point at the cave. "Nowhere to go but forward. Death or victory awaits." "Are any of you trained in the art of concealment?"

"What is a gnome?" Kitai manages to ask before she runs off. Just to be clear, is there actually nowhere to go (it's a dead end behind us or some such) or what? It seems odd that we'd immediately run in the direction of the first thing that roars.

Kitai shrugs, then eats, drinks, and is merry for a short while. "What is that drink? It closed my wounds as though I'd never been touched."

"Wataru Kitai, first son of Wataru Nishizo." he says while standing up and giving a shallow bow to Fraga. He looks somewhat confused at the offered hand. After saying something and bowing at his food, he begins poking it lightly with his boot knife. "Do you know what any of this is?"

Prologue: Kitai's day was spent in battle, the Otutzuki clan on the brink of defeat. He led one final charge, screaming a roar of challenge at the enemy samurai and ashigaru, spear charged to run through whoever was unlucky enough to be in his way. He bore down on one unlucky soldier, too slow to get out of the way, and angled his spear for the kill...and then with a swift crushing pressure and a rush of blackness, he was gone, charging confusedly into an empty desert. Dumbfounded, he collapses, spearpoint in the sand. He barely resists when strange soldiers rush out and drag him into the room with the squid-beast. As it waits patiently for him, he notices the food and eagerly digs in, famished after a long day's battle. He is especially impressed the drink healing his cuts and scrapes. Now: As Gryzzhul'Huuk explains the situation to him he simply nods in understanding, but has no real comment one way or another. While he waits with the others he finally voices a question. "Koko wa doko? Kore wa oni no tochidesu ka? Matawa watashi no sosen wa shigo seikatsu ni tsuite machigatte imashita ka?" despite the questioning tone of his words, he seems oddly nonplussed about this whole situation. Japanese:
"Where am I? Is this the land of the oni? Or were my ancestors wrong about the afterlife?" Assuming the others are uncomprehending, he grudgingly switches to the trade language and repeats his questions. |
