Kirin rolls her eyes again at Lander.

"Leave the eggs." Kirin says simply before moving along, fully expecting to be obeyed.

Kirin shrugs "You charge me, I'll singe you."

"But sure. Heal them if you want."

Kirin casts prestidigitation to get the bird blood and burnt feathers off her nice silks.

Kirin rolls her eyes at Lander but steps back all the same. But rather than act like a defenseless princess she goes to singe the birds with an electric burning hands.

I'm not sure how much in game time has passed since my last mage armor, but if it's up I'll cast that on myself.

"A sword? Against that thing? A flyswatter more likely." Kirin stands, her hands on her hips "Good luck."

Kirin steps back, disgusted at Lander's exclamation to kill the already subdued bandits outright.

"Slow us down? Where are we headed in such haste? If you think this is what adventuring is about then you have much to learn, young man. Edward. Would you kindly talk some sense into this kid?" Kirin says crossing her arms over her chest and standing back frustratedly.

Kirin keeps her arm wrapped around his as she talks. "Not so fast there, friend. Let's clean up this mess and have a chat first."

Kirin casts prestigitation on the young man, then gives him a quick look. "Much better." She takes his arm in hers. "So, Lander Lebeda Sir. What brings an attractive young man such as yourself to this" Kirin pauses indicating the trunk "humble abode?"

Kirin starts, jolted from her internal reverie she had been allowing herself to indulge in as others navigated the wilderness in search for clues.

Seeing a lousy lout harm her friends she frustratedly storms up and grabs the man by the arm.

"Dame Sarrona Lebeda. May I ask more about the bandit attacks in the area? I have caravans that traverse these lands and I like to stay abreast of current activity. Do these bandits and wolves appear to be targeting anything in particular?"

Kirin smiles politely at Anya, furrowing her brow in confusion at the question about camels before preferring to respond to Lya instead.

"Lya! Yes. The trade business is going swimmingly. I've negotiated several new arrangements with interested clients recently." Kirin pauses a moment as if reminding herself of something. "I should check if that Lucious fellow needs transportation for his most recent acquisitions.."

"I sure hope this next expedition is warmer than Irrisen was..." Kirin shivers at the memory.

Kirin looks over at Blue, concerned. "Doing okay there Blue, my friend?"

"Hey Lya!"

Kirin places her hands on Ehr'Lynd's shoulders shaking him lightly. "Wake up...". Looking to the right and left as the crowd tramples around them Kirin curses herself under her breath. "Why the hell didn't I buy anything to heal with ...

Determined, Kirin shoulders the brunt of the crowd while giving Ehr'Lynd a quick patdown - finding a healing potion on him. She quickly helps him drink it.

I can't tell for sure if Kirin is still frightened - but I'll post as if not as the condition is crossed off on the top block

Kirin grabs the potion from Ehr'Lynd and assists him in its consumption.

Kirin runs screaming from the small green flying creature.

"I talked with the owner of the general store the other day when I was in getting my hair done, and the next for my nails. Nice guy - Orug. He mentioned that he witnessed the second murder - outside his store front. He described the suspect as tall (maybe even taller than him). He said that he went out to confront the person but got taken down."

"And people keep mentioning a guy asking questions around town. A "tall, thin Chelaxian man, with short trimmed hair, and a small patch of beard on his chin."

All diplomatic like

"We received a note indicating someone was in danger, and came to investigate." Kirin says, handing over the note. If she was the one that ended up with it. I don't remember, actually.

"Do you mind if we have a look around? With your supervision of course." If no one stops her she'll begin confidently investigating, signalling her party to aid with their keen eyes.

"Great. Not this again..."

Frustrated, Kirin moves down the stairs closer to her and casts Daze DC14 on the rogue.

does Kirin have line of sight? Is Ehr'Lynd still in the square by the door? - I'm going to imagine he's up a square since he slipped in blood. If I can be right where Ehr'Lynd is right now, that'd be great :) Line of sight, without being adjacent to the guy - your call GM.

either way Kirin maneuvers to see the suspicious looking character with a fallen comrade at his feet in a pool of blood. A scowl appears on her face as she casts Electricity ray.

Kirin shrugs, then follows the group. Still doing what she can to see if there is anything magical inside.

Kirin walks around the house coming back around to all-costumed-up Rafael and whispers "I don't see anyone in the first level, but let's try this." Kirin stands in position around the corner and waits for Rafael to knock on the door.

Kirin walks around the house while Rafael is preparing - continuing to focus on detect magic. Once finished walking around the house she'll stand opposite Kali and wait.

Kirin acknowledges Kali then begins murmuring similar words. casts mage armor on self

Kirin then casts Detect Magic and walks around the house, seeing if she can catch a subtle glimpse into any of the windows. starting at bottom of map, going CCW until she gets to a window she can see in - or until something else happens

"I was just asking before. Personally I'm leaning investigate the house ourselves."

"Whoever wrote this note wrote the one we initially received back at the lodge - calling for another team of Pathfinders for aid. Also. It matches the anonymous note sent to Erika and then given to the Sheriff before our arrival - the one saying Pathfinders did it." did I get that right?

"So. Go to the sheriff now, with this note? Or investigate the building ourselves? Trap or not - we need the info. Time's running out."

Kirin takes in the crowd - seeing if there is anyone she recognizes - or if anyone looks out of place or suspicious.

How far away did this happen from the general store? Could Orug have seen anything from his window? Is he on the streets? Does anyone match the description of the 'tall, thin Chelaxian man with short trimmed hair, and a small patch of beard on his chin'

Kirin tries to calm the crowd - calling for an honest investigation by the proper authorities.

Kirin watches Erika's reaction, as she was looking that direction anyway. Then stands up immediately and heads towards the scream trying to figure out what is going on.

"I'm quite enjoying these luxuries of yours. Not too often I can indulge myself in this kind of treatment." Kirin says with a smile.

"How'd you end up settin' up shop this far north anyway? Business good up here? Might extend my caravan's reach if there's enough business in it."

Once he responds to that and they're all settled down and into the nail painting she'll continue with 'tasty bits', pausing appropriately between each bit for conversation.

"So, I heard the Pathfinders were arrested in bed. At the Inn. But someone else said that the accused halfling had blood all over his hands and clothes when he was arrested. Now. That's just strange to me. Who goes to sleep with blood all over themselves. Gross." Leaving time for a response before next tidbit.

"Ohhh. And. I heard that someone sent an anonymous letter tipping off the authorities to the Pathfinders after the first murder. Wonder who sent that.."

"I'm still worried about those poor kids. They must have seen the first murder then - since you saw the second and didn't see them. I heard the first one was over by Otto's farm."

"What other bits have you discovered?"

"Why yes" Kirin says, looking at her nails. "The color of an autumn sunset you say? Sounds perfect." Kirin smiles, walking towards Orug.

"Oh, where are my manners. This is Idris." Kirin says waving towards the man standing next to her. "Protection during these dangerous times. You understand."

"How's the missus?" Kirin says genially as she approaches the store, thinking to their last conversations end.

"I am going to check around town here, by the inn and general store. Someone good with tracking want to come with me? Check out the second murder scene in front of the general store for clues as I chat with people on the streets. Also, I might go back to the general store later - the owner seemed like he might have more to say when he's not being ushered away by his woman."

Kirin shares all the details she learned in the general store/barbershop. do I put that on the slide or do you?

"Yes, I think some perusing around town is in order. I think I'll mosey about around the area here and see what general information I can collect, unless anyone has any better ideas? I want to see if I can find this tall, thin Chelaxian man the barber described. With short trimmed hair, and a small patch of beard on his chin. Barber seemed to think this was a kind of guy I might know. Whatever that means.

And where does this Erika spend her time? I feel like we should just.. know where she is. Keep an eye on her, as it were."

Kirin takes a quick soak then heads to the meeting spot.

"Well, that was quite fruitful. Wonder what everyone else discovered."

how are we at for time? we said meet at ~noon, for lunch. got time for more perusing town before that?

Kirin shows him exactly what she wants done with her hair and delves right into the gossip, loving it. She feels right at home remembering juicy palace gossip amongst servants and her many brothers and sisters.

”Oh my! You saw the second murder – how terrible. And you tried to abduct him. How brave!! Did you get a good look at the man? I heard some poor children saw one of the murders – poor things. I hope they’re doing okay.

”Wait. So there were how many murders?” Kirin pauses for his answer – clearly trying to get her gossip all straight before continuing. trying to establish a more clear timeline

”Are these kinds of murders common around here? I own a caravan and am considering expanding trade to the region. I would want to know my workers are safe though – well, as safe as the open road ever is at least.”

”Speaking of the open road. What do you think of this Erika character? Soon as we settled into the inn she comes and gets up in our face all righteous like. How long she been around?”

”Tall, thin Chelaxian man? No, doesn’t ring a bell. How long he been around? You know where he’s staying?”

”Wonderful job on the hair – I love it. Thank you! This is a very fine place you have here” Kirin says, handing him a generous tip. ”Reminds me of home”

At the mention of more Pathfinders ”More killing? You stay safe now – don’t be goin and getting all brave on me now. Wouldn’t want you getting hurt. What if I want another bath before I leave? Kirin adds playfully. ”How’d you hear about that? They in town yet? Thanks for the heads up. Wouldn’t want to get near them.”

It has been a while since I've had a bath..

"Orug, I presume?" Kirin says, looking around the barbershop. "Been on the road for a while. Could do with some pampering. Hot bath, hair cut. Got any space?"

For a place this far north they sure do have the amenities...

Kirin crosses her arms and listens to her comrades speak.

"Well. Whoever goes to talk to the sheriff. We have a good pretext under verifying Ericka's position - as we were all verbally accosted by her. We deserve to know more as to why.

Does that work for everybody?"

Kirin turns and heads inside. "Shall we convene in my room momentarily, before heading off to sleep? Share notes. the ones on the slide.

"I plan to head to the general store. Gather information. Arrange trade. Somebody should talk to the Sheriff too. Though I think we need a better pretext for why we'd engage in that conversation... Any ideas on that one?"

giving people time to respond between questions. just seemed more efficient to post them together.

As Erika departs, Kirin will smile, returning politely. "Pleasure making your acquaintance" Kirin's eyes will follow her as she re-enters the inn.

" 'Appointed by Iomedae herself', seriously? Overly religious freak.

"I am glad we are on the same page." Kirin smiles amiably.

"Perhaps we could be of some mutual assistance?

Have there been other incidents relating to the Worldwound spreading corruption in nearby towns? Were they similar to the horrible events I've heard that transpired here?"

"Greetings Erika Corum. My name is Kirin Quetzal. I am owner and leader of the great Quetzal caravan. I heard there was an influx of traffic to the area and we came to investigate, yes. More people usually means opportunity for trade. Especially when juicy drama is involved. You see, individuals in distress often part more easily with their coin when faced with a potential deal. So yes. In this front we have been investigating the recent going ons of Dawnton.
