As far as posting in combat goes, I have the same problem as Jesari. I can't exactly post two or three rounds in a row, so I have to wait on the others to get in their round as well. When that happens, I have to depend on timing to let me post more than once. Outside of combat, however, I don't have those same round/turn order restrictions. But I guess even out of combat I might end up have the same issues. Because if I get a short break to make a quick post in the morning, then another quick break an hour after that and no one has posted in that window, then I might not get another chance to post until late in the evening. As much as I wish that I could be on the forums all hours of the day, I just can't.

Well first off, thank you for taking the time to lay out your concerns and bring this up, rather than just leaving and never returning (which seems to be a popular thing to do here in PBP). Part of the reason I can't really post more than once a day is because of how much each post seems to require. Your posts often cover a full day (some times more) worth of things to respond to all at once, meaning that making a short post from my phone isn't going to cut it. It'd be basically pointless and not actually help move the story in the least. I just can't commit to making these lengthy posts that are required to properly respond to the situation throughout the day. It's just not practical when I have things I need to be doing during the day! So no, sadly, with how much each posts requires to respond and react to the story, there's no way I can manage more than one a day.

Kali'da let go of the rope once Ishirou was safely out of the pit and drew her staff. She moved towards the edge of the pit, ready to beat back any of the creature's who may manage to make their way out and up to the surface. "Are ya hurt, Ishirou?" she asked, giving him a quick look up and down. We don't need to be losing any more folks to the jungles...

Round 1 "Don't drop de rope, girl!" Kali'da shouts as she's suddenly left as the only one holding on to it. Not wanting Ishirou to lose his only life line by dropping the rope herself in favor of aiding the battle, she clings to the rope and braces herself, hoping someone else helps her, or that Ishirou doesn't start climbing too quick. Strength: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Since Kali'da's turn came before Alexite's, she'll hold the rope as if she's the only one doing so. It'll take her full turn.

We ought to go on a scavanga' hunt foa dis. If for no oda' reason den to give us a direction and goal!" =========================

Might as well explore dis one. No swimmin'. Just your type, eh Jesari?" Kali'da says in the form of a good natured joke. ~ ~ ~ Once in the shipwreck, Kali'da spends most of her time holding a light for the others. Not that she minds, the others seem to be more competent at the search. "I bet he'd be happy to see somet'ing like that," Kail'da notes, peeking over some shoulder to glimpse the documents herself.

I can probably do two posts a day so long as no one minds one of them being fairly low on length (and probably quality) as it'd probably have to be from my phone. I usually sit down and do all my campaign posts in one big lump before bed, but I can definitely say I'll try to do my best, especially in combat. I'd not mind picking up another player. I personally think four is the sweet spot for speed and player interactions.

Kali'da finally regains consciousness at the camp under the care of Jask and the others. She awake with a killer headache, but holds her complaints to herself. She looks quite downtrodden about his death, but not as much so as others maybe. To her, death was just the next part of the cycle; it was only sad for the people left behind. When Alexit approaches them later about moving the camp, Kali'da thinks over the other's behaviors. "I'll talk to Gelik about makin' sure he's really carryin' his weight, not jus' talkin' about it," she says. "I t'ink we'll find Ishirou will cooperate a bit betta' in de meantime. He's comin' around at his own pace." ~ ~ ~ When she gets the chance, she'll take a moment to speak one on one with Gelik. "Tell me, Gelik, about yaself. I heard ya stories and such, but what is it that ya good at? What are de t'ings Gelik really does? I wanna hear de real adventcha's of Gelik." Kali'da tries to appeal to his sense of self and (in her opinion) over inflated ego to gauge what it is he might be real good at around the camp. Of course, her jolly mood was cut short by the lack of food brought in from the hunt. "Rations are runnin' low," she noted solemnly. The second shipwreck of the day Alexite had also vetoed for exploration, and again Kali'da made no argument other than to say that they ought to mark it on the map should they choose to check it out at a later date. =========================
"Did he say anyt'ing befoa' he left? Was he goin' to hunt? Oa was he jus' gone when ya blinked?" she asked Jask and Gelik. "We should start lookin' now. No time to waste in de jungle. It can be dangerous togetha', twice as bad alone."

I mean, it's your character. Maybe she's got personal boundaries issues. Weird for an elf but w/e. Your character. Play her how you want, just don't be offended because people think your toon is creepy. As for topics, that's the point of starting small. You'll have to discuss things IC to learn about peoples characters and what topics are appropriate. No need to metagame relationships.

Well, lets be honest. Kali'da thinks Sizara is creepy too for being so touchy feely with who are essentially strangers. It's abnormal behavior, nothing to do with dry skin, having something that half the population was diagnosed with for a few years while I was in primary school, or having normal hobbies and respecting ones parents. If you're looking to improve relationship building in the game, think of what that looks like in real life. Which is chatting and not touching people or kissing them w/o permission. That'll get you slapped, or some times jailed, in real life. It's not exactly getting a better reaction here. For example, chatting about generic topics like maybe pointing out something interesting you see like an exotic flower, then move into a funny story about how you once sniffed a flower you were gifted, only to sneeze and get a huge booger on it. That'd make Kali'da laugh, anyways.

Apologies for the quick and dirty post; doing it from mobile between point a and b before I get busy this afternoon and evening! I don't have access to roll20 at the moment to see where my character is in relation to anything or to move her. Kali'da sees her companions struggling with the nimble creature and shakes her head. She positions herself so she's out of the reach of the lizard, not wanting it to take advantage of her lowered defenses while she prepares her spell. Once she's sure she's at a safe distance, she'll utter a foreboding curse as she casts doom. If she's already 15ft or more out of the lizards range, she won't move. If she's less than 15ft out of its range, she'll move back to 15ft or 20ft away. If she's in melee range of it, she will 5ft step back.

"I don't suggest de coast again," she says with a frown to the others once they gather. "At least not unless we get some cloud cova' to ward off de burnin' sun. Kali'da keeps a careful eye out for danger, hoping they don't run into any more trouble that is going to delay them. She occasionally turns an eye to Jesari and Sizara to ensure they haven't suddenly relapsed into their sickness again. She frequently asks the others how they are feeling, just to be sure no one else is going to get sick either. Later that evening, she tries to recall what sorts of things Jask had mentioned cause such illnesses and ensure they are removed from their campsite, and at least partially protected from other risk factors.

Assuming that with me and Alexite both saying to stay, that we do indeed stay Kali'da approaches Jask while he's tending to the sick, leaning over him curiously. "I know a bit of healin' to patch up de wounded, but nothin' like treatin' disease and sickness. It's a skill my teacha' neva' taught me befoa' he fled. Not a good teacha' in de end. Ya mind if I watch ya, maybe pick up a few t'ings as you work?" she asked him. It was a hole in her education, one she had hoped to remedy at some point. Now was better than never. If he says yes...
When not doing that, she busies herself with filling the water, helping keep the camp tidy and organized, and in general trying to do something to ease the tensions in the camp. Her first target? Ishirou. He seems to be causing some problems within the camp, and it would be better to get him on the right side before more issues cropped up. "Hard to not know where ya goin'. Even harda' when life t'rows t'ings like dis at ya," she starts, gesturing out at the jungle. "I don't want to be here. I don't even want to be wit' dese people. But I got to get back to what I was doin', so I do my best to work wit' de od'as. Better dat den to die here. It's be shameful to die here lyin' down jus' because I didn't want to help de od'as, I t'ink. We need ya. Hopefully we can count on ya." She gives Ishirou a maternal pat/rub on the back. Once things had settled in at the camp, Kali'da approached Hakeem and Alexite to plan their next course of action. "What do ya t'ink we should do? Wait fa' de oda's to recova', oa head out again wit' someone else. I'm okay wit' waitin' on Jesari and Sizara to get dere wits back about 'em, but I didn't know how ya all felt about it," she asked, glancing about at the others around the camp as they went about their business. "I t'ink Jask said it should only be a couple days befoa' dey up on dere feet. But a couple days can make a big difference in a situation like dis." Her mind briefly wandered to the ship that held the remainder of her tribe in its cargo holds, drifting ever further away the longer they were here.

I think you're making too many assumptions. I do plan on going into the Heal skill, I just get very limited skill points so I hadn't taken it at level 1 Kali'da watched Sizara fall over and shook her head before stepping over her, ignoring her dramatics. I personally prefer campaigns that don't involve romantic relationships. I begrudgingly tolerate it in my own game because one of the characters knows exactly how I feel about kissy face in my campaign so I know she'll keep the lid on tight and respect my limits on public displays of affection. In my experience, they tend to be forced and distract from the main plot lines and often the people and players involved in the relationship end up ignoring others in the group. Plus, I still cringe when I have to watch make out scenes at the end of romantic comedies. TL;DR

Like the others, I'm assuming to make the current night's rest action Kali'da follows along with the group's exploration of the island, doing her usual job of lecturing about morals, ethics, and in general being the group mother. When they finally stop to make camp, she helps, more like hinders, Jesari in setting up the camp. She finds herself too distracted with examining the local flora to really bother with doing much at all. After everyone had regathered for the night, she looks to Hakeem who had so far lead the direction of their exploration. "Did ya have a plan on where to go tomorrow? Might work to travel up de coast line. Neva' know what might have washed up on de shore. Can be some value found in de flotsam." ~ ~ ~ Date - 28 Sarenith 4710 AR

Kali'da's going to offer to patch her up, so we can save that potion Kali'da watches from the shore as the others make their way behind her. She cringes at every flailing splash from Jesari. When the lot of them finally make it, she cups Jesari's chin in her hand and gives her a quick once over. "Ya gonna get ya self killed on de rocks. Best to avoid de open wata' fo' a bit, eh?" she says with a maternal concern. I'm Canadian. It's snowed here a few times already for this winter season. Anyways, we left ten rations with the monkeys so they left us alone. That's what happens when you offer one bit of food to an animal, you have to offer a bunch more to the others. I had thought of doing that with my post before Sizara had (which is why I asked after the rations thing again), but rethought it for that reason. C'est la vie. Basically we have enough for four rations per person left. It's a clean split.

Kali'da shrugged, mildly disappointed at the lack of, well, anything on the ship. At least she'd expect some danger and excitement. Oh well, plenty of that elsewhere on the island, she thought as she grabbed back onto her log and waded back into the water. Swim: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 1 + 2 = 19

I've been enjoying the game so far. The rules about which materials and books were available were clear, though having to check sources probably tripled the amount of time I spent building the character. But, I can totally see why you'd do something like that. The AP was balanced around what existed prior to its release. Other than that, you seem quite prepared which is something I envy. I'm not nearly that organized in my DMing. I kind of fly by the seat of my pants >.< I think it's great that you are making some of these checks for us and narrating the results (such as the swimming or our exploration actions). Is there a specific character (or characters) of yours that didn't get accepted that I could look at? I might be able to give some feedback on the characters or how you present them a little better that way.

Kali'da surprises herself at her own swimming skill, and wonders if she'll be able to pull that same stunt on the way back. Unlikely, but she'll focus on the positives for now. She considered offering Jesari a heal, but Sizara beats her to it with a potion. Not that she minds. More juju for her to use later. Like after they have to make the swim back. "I'll follow behind ya, Alexite. Watch ya step. Last t'ing we need is to run into somet'ing lurking in here." Ready to go down!

Kali'da raises an eyebrow at the kiss. Whatever, none of her business if the elf was trying to get affection and attention from almost everyone. She'd just silently judge the other woman. Maybe tell a story about a woman who caught her death from too many partners. Yes, that would be an excellent fireside tale.
