"Yeah, sure. Grab the captain and his stuff and let's hightail it outta here. That creature..." Kai shuddered. "I don't ever want to see anything like that again." Kai helped everyone get back to their ship, and socketed himself into the computer station, ready to get back to Absalom Station.

@GM - Unfortuantely, that would put me at -6 to hit, basically fishing for a crit. I at least have a chance to hit the harrying or covering fire DC "Suppressing fire!!!!!" shouts Kai and he closes his eyes and holds the firing stud down. A hiss of frustration caused him to open one eye and see that his fire had opened the creature up to an unexpected attack. will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Kai grimaced as the apparition's wail cut into his mind. Concentrating on ignoring it, he leveled the artillery laser as best he could, then fired. As he suspected, it was difficult to aim the weapon and pull the firing stud, and balance the whole thing. Patterson made it look so easy. Kai dropped into a command seat and pulled out his datapad and a memory module. no way was he going to let whatever was in this databank get away, but he wasn't foolish enough to load it directly into his own rig. @GM - luck had nothing to do with it. Kai was just very observant (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) Kai stood up, shaking just a little. It took two tries just to holster his pistol, and those close enough could hear him muttering "I can't believe I just did that. I can't believe I just did that." Kai doesn't wait to see what the others plan. All he can see is that electronic eye. "I can't believe I am doing this, but I sure hope it works." Kai put a small bit of code into the electrical system to cause the lights to flash and small puffs of coolant to float through the intersection where the turret was. As soon as his code started to go into effect, Kai threw himself down the corridor, sliding to a stop on his back with his pistol pointed almost straight up at the turret. He couldn't imagine after what they had seen on this ship so far why anyone in their right mind would open a new door while they were still dealing with another dangerous situation.
