"I... That's what happened?? He was just trying to prove himself?"

Releasing the arms and rising to his feet before turning and stepping away, Justin covers his mouth, biting in his index finger to maintain himself further.

"..Dmitri is right. You have no restraint - you killed the very man you looked up to just to try and impress him.. I'm sure he's really impressed right now, isn't he?" The rogues voice falls cold and heavy and he speaks, "You have no idea the amount of restraint I'm using right now."

Feeling the young man being without resistance, he pulls him to the ground and lays him on his stomach, holding the young one's arms behind his back before glancing back over to Jerimiah. Quickly looking away, Justin clenches his teeth and holding back tears. He cannot even discribe how he's feeling right now other than an emotional monk is hitting him with flurry of feels and critting every hit.

Hopelessly desperate, the rogue asks the arcanist in a shaky, clearly distraught voice, "H... Hey, buddy... Y-you alright?"

Though he doesn't expect a response, he's maintaining denial at what he has assumed just happened.

Hearing Dmitri's call, Justin rises to his feet and returns the journal to his pack before walking the short distance back to the others.

"What's going," he begins to ask, but as his eyes survey the scene before them he can feel the colour being drained from his face. "What?? Jerimiah!!!" Justin calls out as he notices the body and the child beside it. With heat burning in his cheeks and his blooding boiling, the rogue drops his backpack before rushing towards the kid - aiming to subdue him.

"I knew it was a trap!!"

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Grapple: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Well... Managed to nat1 and nat20 right next to each other.. Not even going to question it. His grapple will provoke an AoO as well for lacking the Improved version, but hey - at least he auto-succeeds it though xD

"Get the rope from my backpack and help me restrain this one!!" He calls out to the others, frantic and hysterical from seeing his fallen comrade in such a state.

Looks like Toby found some butterflies too xD

Having sat down and retrieving the blank book from the start of their adventure, Justin proceeds to begin to sketch the insects and their grace as best he can.

Just wait until the others see this! They'll be so impressed!

Labeling the top of the page 'The Wonderflies,' the rogue smiles in awe at how even his horrible, crude sketch of the butterflies seems to be infinitely profound and gorgeous by sheer association with their majesty.

Justin is currently blissfully unaware of the boy's sudden state of awake and continues monitoring the butterflies, fairly certain that he was assigned no other duty than to make sure these insects continue being awesome!

"...You thought I wanted you to kill him, Jerimiah? What part of," he pauses to repeat the hand gestures before continuing, "...could have possibly implied that? We're going to have to work on our silent message-sending, but Dmitri's got the right idea. Posting look-outs while investigating the lad was what I was aiming for. You never know - it could be a trap."

Turning to face the horizons as he quickly glances around, Justin finishes with, "I'm flattered that you think I can handle scouting, Wonder Sword~ I won't let you down!" Flashing a thumbs up, he crouches down and waddles off to watch down the roads, keenly keeping an eye open for danger.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

...but those damn butterflies are just too majestic! Man, would you just look at those things? How could anyone focus on being a look-out when these things are around? Talk about eye candy!

Man, I can't wait to tell the others about these things! These are just simply amazing! It's like they just keep bouncing all on their own!

Ohh, I don't know if Brian told you, but he's on vacation right now - he should be back in a few days xD

Placing his hand against Brian and Jerimiah's chest, indicting to halt their movement, Justin taps an index finger against his mouth with a grin before making more hand gestures to communicate. He points to the others before placing his index and middle finger under his eyes and then makes an air-circle in a general sweep of the surrounding area before placing a thumb to his chest, and flicks his hand to point at the sleeping bandit-man with his index and middle fingers.

Feeling that he should have clearly been understood, he nods his head and gives a thumbs-up and awaits their reaction before moving forward with his plan.

Justin scans the woods like a less keen-eyed pet bird in a store.

"Talk about eye candy," he says as he takes in the sight he sees.

Giving Brian a thumbs up, the rogue smiles and chimes, [b]"That's the spirit!" With his head turned to face the horizon, he await the rest of the group before heading out.

"Brian," Justin finds himself saying in a tone akin to Big Boss addressing Quiet. "You know I love flexing my muscles as much as any other man, but let's not take the prison yard rush tactic just yet.. We haven't learned of the enemies defenses nor of their offensive capabilities just yet. Even the entire sect are mere elf-loving imposters, they may prove to be martial masters."

Thinking himself briefly 'Martial Masters?' ...Sounds like a famous rapper's name..

With his hand raised towards the East, he smiles and says, "Let's not risk our heads until we know and understand our enemy. Hell, it may turn out that the truest enemy is actually the one posed as our ally! If we jump the gun, history may label us as the fiends. I propose our original idea: we came here for druids - let us seek out these druids. One or two are better than none, right? And it's far better than you risking that pretty, chiseled jaw you got. What say you to this, my friend?"

Snickering with a mischeivous smile, Justin sticks his tongue out to Dmitri before saying, "Pragmatism, my friend! As long as the desired goal is accomplished, I honestly don't mind how it's achieved.. Save for a few exceptions, of course. Looks like we're off to a good start with our reputation too, right? Surely word will spread about the 'magnificent strangers that bested the guard's captain in combat!' They'll probably write books about us eventually!" With a hearty laugh, the rogue continues along with the others.

Saluting the captain with a grin, the rogue says, "We'll definitely be back. Maybe next time you can teach us a thing or two about parrying! Glad sparring with you, sir."

Turning back to face his friends, he is practically hopping as he returns, announcing to Dmitri, "Wonder Sword's honour has been restored!! We did it! Jerimiah was right too - we should always focus our might together. If we act as one, we're unstoppable!"

@Rando Oh my God, it's universal xD It's as if I'm just a singularity of poor rolls. @Brain Right? Honestly would rather be maxing everything though xD Fumbles add for entertain and suspense at least.

Stepping towards the captain, he tries another slash at the captain as he moves from Jerimiah's shot.

Keenly keeping his eye on the fencer, Justin slowly circles around to come from behind Lithganar before adjusting his grip on his dagger. Stepping in to strike, the rogue takes a deep breath and tries for the most practiced strike he can against the flanked foe.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage: 1d4 + 2d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + (1, 3) + 1 = 6

Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Low damage, no crit. Falls to knees. Weeps. Doesn't matter, still hit. Weak hit, but at least hit xD Bah, I forgot the +2 for flanking too, but it really won't change anything xD

Let me be the first to say that I literally threw my arms into the air when I saw that Power Captain didn't intercept the message xD

Seeing Brian readying himself for another duel, TD rises to his feet and readies his dagger-knife. Giving his comrade a knowing-nod, he says loudly enough that the captain can hear him, "What do you say we give this'un the old 'wang-dang, playah makah', eh? I'm going to try and disarm him!"

Bluff to pass secret message: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Truth: I'm actually just going to go for sneak attacks and stay flanked against him.

Justin steps to the right of Brian and stares at the captain with steady, unblinking eyes as he adjusts his grip on the dagger. "We'll move on Brian's mark," he speaks in a low, calm voice before breathing in a deep breath and letting it out as a calming sigh. "This one's for Dmitri..."

Throwing his hands into the before latching them around the backs of his comrades, Justin begins whooping and hollering with glee as he shouts, "HE HIT!! HE HIT!!! DMITRI CONNECTED!!"

With a wide grin, the rogue rushes over to his comrade and makes sure he's okay, reaffirming to the samurai, "You fought splendidly, buddy! You actually managed to get a hit in! Are you okay though - did the stick heal you right? You're not going blind are you? We gotta make sure Brian's okay too - he got the short end of that dagger, if you know what I mean.." Stepping over to the summoner, he nudges the unconscious player's chest and energetically says, "Dude, Brian! Wake up - you totally missed it!"

Satisfied that his friends weren't killed in the ordeal, he looks to the captain and asks, "I do have a question.. Do you know if there have ever been any druids in these parts? I have heard rumour that some used to be settled around here.."

With his free hand, he reaches back and searches for another arm to latch on to and finds Toby. Pulling her into their cling-fest, he feels as if they are watching their favourite sports team going into Overtime at a championship game as he whispers, "Indeed... The only thing we're missing now is chips..."

Reeling with tension, Justin grabs onto Jerimiah's arm and watches the combatants as if everything was in slo-motion, and says, "Oh my God, he may actually get him!"

Leaning forward as he sees Brian fall, Justin's eyes widen as he realizes just how powerfully graceful this man is. Cupping his hands to his mouth, the rogue calls out encouragement to Dmitri, "C'mon, Kendo-sensei!! Give this guy the what-for!! Show him why you're called Wonder Sword!!"

Clenching his fists and biting his lip, he finds himself anxious as the samurai makes his attack. Yeah - get him! You can do it!!

As they follow Jaarn along, Justin whispers to Brian, "Your game worked too well - you even got the guard winking at you!"

Eager to see how this captain is, the rogue sticks close to the their companion though he fears the worst for what becomes of those deemed unworthy to live here.

Clinging to the samurai as they walk to his armour, Justin still snickers and laughs softly as he tells him, "I couldn't let that opportunity pass by! I had to take it!"

Arriving by the set, the rogue manages to collect himself well-enough to begin properly connecting the plates over Dmitri, though his grin would be visible from miles away.

"I won't joke like this at the temple - I swear! Else I may end up being removed from town!... Though... That may not be a bad idea - allow myself to be captured so that I can see first-hand what happens and where they are taken.. Perhaps that sort of infiltration will just have to wait until I'm more confident in my abilities!"

Through tears and a flushed face, Justin leans forward on the table as he tries to compose himself. Holding his hands up to Jerimiah, he barely manages to speak out between laughs in a way that he know Jerimiah can understand - Elven.

Covering his face again, he begins cracking up again as he leans back in his chair, struggling out, "Isn't it grand? Oh my God! My stomach is getting sore!" With a few deep, controlled breaths, he manages to calm down enough, but still finds himself grinning and on the verge of bursting out again.

I believe it goes without saying that Justin obviously found a seat next to Toby on the floor too - can never let drunken antics be alone!! xD

Humming to himself as he joins up with the others - having slept in a little later than the others. Mid-morning Justin is caught off-guard as he sees Toby and cocks his head for a moment before saying, "Make-up? How random! You're just like my mother - always had to put on make-up before going to church!" With a slight laugh, he steps over to their table and takes a seat. "Speaking of church.." the rogue pauses as he cautiously looks around to make sure no one is eavesdropping before continuing. "...Looks like Brian's going to need to head to Confession this morning after last night! Oooh, man - we need to start warning people about this guy! 'Wanna know why they call him White-Angel?' Too bad your name doesn't start with a 'C,' because then I'd start calling you 'C-man!' Get it?!"

Justin rolls with laughter in between remarks and cannot stop giggling to himself after he's finished, quickly finding himself unable to speak and struggling to breathe for a bit as he just cannot get over how funny of a situation just presented itself in front of him.

"Mmmmm, and what could might possibly boost our reputations more than liberating a land from a tyrant order?" A devious grin spreads across the rogue's flushed face as he considers such a mutually beneficial proposal. "Alas - we must choose our battles very wisely. To declare war on a ruling power right now may be... Well, let's just say we'll need more information before we finalize our decision. Perhaps our Brian here could even simply woo them with his words alone!"

Thinking back for a moment as he takes more wine from his mug, TD asks, "You said we'd know more about this order tomorrow when we visit this temple.. Are they planning something that we should know about? Or will we just get to witness their usual antics? I find it odd too that an order of elves would trust humans impersonating them to enact their bidding here.. You'd think they'd want their ambassadors to be elves, or at least half-elves."

As the rogue thinks more about the order and their trip to the temple tomorrow, he turns to Jerimiah and asks, "My friend, a moment please.." He then proceeds to finish his question in elvish, trusting Jaarn's words that none around should know the language fluently enough to eavesdrop.

I took Elven at level 2 ^^ Figured it'd come in handy!

Meeting Dmitri's glance, the rogue beams a smile that can only be described as trolling, whatever that means! Looking back to the guard, he awaits his response, eager to learn more about this mysterious order, and hoping that the guard believes Jerimiah and his lies enough to open up more about it.

Taking a couple of large swigs from his mug before setting it down, he answers the guard's question, while trying to sound as dry and serious as possible, though unable to deny the alcohol in his system.

"Aye, he is truly a wonder with a sword.. That's why they call him Wonder Sword back home. This man has felled more bandits than the likes of an entire army could ever in their entire career! If there has ever been a man to trust with your life, it's this man right here!" Justin chimes as he pats the samurai vigorously on the back.

"The question that lies on my mind the most though, is why would you assume they do it? Impersonating elves, I mean. You'll also have to excuse my under-education, but why was such an order even founded to begin with? Had something caused these elf-imposters to covet the race, or did they rise in order to meet a specific need the people required?"

Lol It has been a fun ride thus far, full of frustratingly low-rolls and shenanigans xD Maybe you're interested and beg enough Rando will let you join sometime~

I've enjoyed it though, and I've enjoyed this campaign as well ^^ What has really made it enjoyable is all of you grand folk and your keen RP techniques x3 Definitely love seeing the characters interacting with each other in all their hilariously and often asinine ways!

The rogue shoots glancing eyes between his friends as they speak to the guard, listening attentively and choosing to reserve his question as to not over-whelm the guard with an interrogation. Drinking more of his wine, he idly looks around the tavern from time to time, making sure they're not in any immediate danger - a nervous tick he developed when he was young and never quite grew out of. The merry atmosphere had seemed to confirm to the rogue that it was safe to continue drinking and to enjoy good company, though gathering information was always his primary agenda.

He mentioned the "capital" and "church of the golden hand" too, earlier... Gonna have to find out more about it without disturbing the locals like we did in that mining town... But for now: we listen to the guard's stories and drink the winez.

Lol I feel like you're saying you would like more NPC interaction but sound like you're saying you want to move things along quicker xD I'll agree with you and say that I definitely wouldn't mind getting to see deeper into the minds of these NPCs :) You spent a lot of time on this campaign, and I'd love to see the amount of depth you put into it. Seeing the bar scene get pushed like that kind of felt like it took away from a good opportunity for our characters to see what NPCs are like in this town and how our characters will react given the context (if any shady folk are watching them, does Brian get-some from the well-dressed lady, will Toby get drunk and start dancing on tables, et cetera).

So I'm with Brian on this one: don't be afraid to throw some depth at us :)

Also - as a side note - Brian: nothing you can say will ever convince me that Brian isn't Isagoras' ancestor!!

1) They're both summoners, with a preference towards Eagles. (Clearly a lineage trait)
2) They both have a complex method of communicating. (For keeping only those worthy close)
3) They're both players. (I saw the way Isagoras was looking at that receptionist!)
4) They both have a love for alcohol. (Joey + Isagoras = Tequila)
5) They are both set in the same "world," Brian is just in the past now.

If Brian ever goes to Arzata, New Mexico - I'm sure he'd hear about some strange events that have happened. He may even bump into someone that seems to bear a strange semblance to him.

Conclusion: Brian's pre-history f+%~ery has created Isagoras' lineage. Without that busty bar NPC vs. Brian's nat20 Diplo, Stacey and Joey may have never made it out alive! Dave may have succumbed to the shredder as well! ARZATA MAY HAVE FALLEN TO FIRE CULTISTS!

The two campaigns have officially been connected. xD

Upon hearing Sweet Red Wine, nothing else seems relevant to Justin anymore as he slides on over besides Brian to help himself to a glass of his favourite alcohol. With seeing the Summoner's antics, he can't help but find himself taken aback by such a blatant display of Game. I never would've guessed Brian was a PUA! He thinks with a smile as he finds even himself beginning to swoon for the angel-blooded man.

Shaking his head to snap-back to reality, he clears his throat and suppresses such lewd notions before flashing a smirk and whispering, "Damn. You're actually rather good at that!"

The rogue raises his cup towards the rest of their group and says, "To Brian Puzzle-Tongue! Our esoterically-gifted, charismatic gamer! Cheers!" Ending with a long swig from his mug, he studies the patrons reactions and inevitable attraction to Brian's godly magnetism.

Justin wouldn't be opposed to taking a brief walk about the city, to familiarize their selves with it. He'll voice this too the others too in the form of the question...

"What do you guys think? Wanna take a look around town? Get a feel for the area - know our exits and potential threats. That sort of thing could save our lives, eh?"

Glancing around the city, Justin just smiles contently as the others talk before adding, "Oh, what's so wrong with a village being well off? I think it's a pleasant change, especially considering that mining town that Dmitri and I have been to. Maybe the folk here are doing so good because they like to help each other out? Or they avoid shady dealings with shady folk? I'd certainly love to find out more about why this town is doing good - seems like other towns could really follow this example!"

Hearing Toby's whisper makes the rogue remember reading about incidents like that before, but he brushes it off and responds in a whisper as well, "I really hope that isn't the case here.. But I guess there's only one way to find out, right?"

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

With a little laugh, he finds himself quickly wondering if Jerimiah's rat might actually evolve due to magic or something of the effect.

As Brian finishes, Justin laxly smiles and takes a step toward them, gesturing to Lanx as he speaks, "We are merely a simple travelling band seeking out some old friends of his - we don't mean any harm." Curiosity creeps its way into the rogue's mind as he wonders about their aggressive behaviour, prompting him to ask, "Has everything been alright in the city lately? We were just attacked in the night about a day ago by some wandering undead - have you been threatened by something lately?"

Aid Another (Diplomacy): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

As the arcanist leaves his company, Justin cannot help but find himself doing his excited victory dance, though something about Jerimiah seemed off.

Aww, he seemed unhappy.. I don't think he's fully adjusted yet.. Hell, I don't think any of us ever really will be. Have to do something nice for him later on. Let him know that we do appreciate his company, and not just for magical trinkets.. And Speckles too, or whatever his rat's name was again.

Trailing his thoughts away from the matter, Justin gave another excited leap before skipping off to see his specialist self and to learn more that there is to be taught.

Justin throws his hands into the air and whoops in victorious excitement before taking the list heading towards their local caravan dealer of sorts. "WOO-HOO! You got it! I'll be back before you can even realize I was gone!"

Upon arrival at the pseudo shop, he hands over the list to the owner, collects the material, and purchases the required components plus one pair of fingerless leather gloves. Paying the 1000 gold, he swiftly rushes back to where Jerimiah was and presents he bag full of all the necessary items.

"Back! Here you go! I really appreciate it! I'll get you something nice too whenever I can!"

"Hai! It would be my honour, Kendo Sensei." The rogue speaks and offers a stiff, exaggerated bow to Dmitri with a smile.

HeroLab is being buggy right now on Windows, so it'll be a little bit before I update my character sheet. I'll have to do it on my Mac side of this device later on xD I'll post the updated one when I switch.

Seeing Jerimiah essentially create new life, the rogue has to investigate. "You created... an enchanted a necklace? Fascinating! Can you do more? What about..." Leaning forward to cram himself next to the arcanist, Justin begins flipping through the book and trying to find something of use to him. Quickly reading about one item in particular, he points his finger to it and finishes his question with, "..that? Can you make that? I will pay for the components, of course. Is this within your capabilities?"

Showing Jerimiah the section he's interested in, he can see the rogue has his sights on some Gloves of Reconnaissance.

Standing beside Dmitri, TD has a hand placed to his mouth as he contemplates their options.

"By now, I wonder exactly how far ahead of us that wolf-corrupter is... They could be long gone. They may have hidden their tracks, or become obscure from others travelling along a path with them... Druids, on the other hand? They're stationery - and they can probably teach us a lot of good things about the 'ways of this world' too. I wouldn't mind meeting these people - maybe the incident with the wolves is just one of many that they have had?"

As he begins thinking about the coast, he is reminded of his trip to the Gulf of Mexico back home and begins daydreaming of how beautiful it was there. "...Though, if we're due for a beach party at the coast, I'm game for that too! What do y'all think?"

Shuffling the weight of his backpack across his shoulders, Justin lets out a sigh in agreement.

"That's the truth.. Well, at least we're getting exercise.. Right? And hell, we get to sleep in a 'home' instead of the 'outside,' so that'll be a plus, at least."

As he begins walking with the others, he gives Jerimiah a slap on the back as he passes.

Replacing his potion and sheathing his weapon, TD gives Brian a rallying fist pump and calls out, "Onwards then! Let's see just what may be going on in this East that you speak so fondly of!"

Slinging his backpack over his shoulders again, he prepares to embark with the others.

Jerimiah waves his magical hands about in a detecting manner.

Clearly he's attempting a Disable Device check! :P

Perception Assist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

The rogue stands near Dmitri, trying his best to help him spot anything that stands out.

Sorry! Lost Internet for a few days! Everything's back to brass now though! inb4 Loses electricity next Really feel like I've been tempting the fates here lately or something xD

Rushing to stand next to Dmitri, he offers him a CLW potion, saying, "Here! Take this and step back - we'll cover you while you drink it!" Standing readied as he faces the zombie, the rogue nods his head hoping that his comrade will receive ample healing from the potion.

Move action to move and move action to give Dmitri the potion

Crunching together a paladin for an upcoming campaign and I had a thought.

I'm planning on going plain and simple halfling mounted charger. Sort of. Three celestial bond mount, being intelligent, cab take any feat they're eligible for. So, I figured have a boar go down the overrun tree for added punch on the charge.

Then I remembered that when mounted, a lance can be used in one hand. Leaving the other free.

So. Sequence of events that I've got a question on. Combat opens. I charge, astride my APC (angry paladin carrier). Ten foot reach, I attack with the lance. Adjacent, nothing happens, thanks to spirited charge, ride-by attack, e.t.c. APC succeeds with the overrun, provoking an attack of opportunity because greater is used. If I've got a scimitar, spiked gauntlet, whatever in my offhand, I can make the AoO too. Does this trigger Two weapon penalties, perhaps retroactively making my lance miss? My mount gets an AoO, but does it have the charging bonuses? Do I, in mine?

Not sure where the first iteration of this question ended up, so let's try again.

Is there any guidelines, limits, definition, or other indication what a "small, stowed object" actually is? My GM has ruled it to be one pound, to make my tail usele- I mean weaker than quick draw, but he's willing to change that. Willing if, and only if, there's any indication of its actual limitations.
