His life as a soldier has not given him much practice making friends and influencing people. Probably best to have strong skills in both athletics and acrobatics. Looks like Jock and Mimzalee have the strongest bonuses in these two skills.

Jock whoops as the results are made known, pumping his fist and jumping up and down. Then he calms down as the blueprints are presented.

Jock doesn't have a clue about what the blueprint is showing, so he does what he knows best, checks social media for people posting about the race to see if he can glean something from their posts.

Feel free to look at Jock's profile for the skills he is trained in and any other abilities that might prove useful. In general, he is better at physical tasks then tasks that require knowledge or social skills. He is good at performance (plays the sax and acts) and knows a bit about religion.

Jock leaps high, grabs a portion of the stage holding lights, does a series of fast pull-ups, drops to the ground and does a series of one arm push-ups, alternating right and left. He finishes with a snarl.

In addition to his music videos as part of the duo Syzygy with Hoshi Izarra, he starred in a minor movie franchise of action adventure plots set during the recent Pahtra/Vesk wars, of which he is a veteran on behalf of his home world.

Jock, seeing the livestream and observing Willow Warbles photobombing it, starts playing a bubbly jazz line on his synth-sax until the live stream ends. He switches off the holosuit pirate image to reveal his normal appearance, a tall, strong, pahtra soldier with freebooter armor and several impressive weapons, including a stellar canon, a fangblade, and the hilt of a plasma sword. His fur is a ginger color with dark and light stripes, with eyes of vibrant orange.

He appears as a stereotypical pirate of romantic holovids, with a three-cornered hat, complete with a big curving feather, an ornate coat (modifying his freebooter armor appearance), a colorful sash and bandana, an earing, eyepatch (non-functional), and a peg-leg. His stellar canon looks like a blunderbuss, his plasma sword, a flintlock pistol, and his fangblade, a greatsword. Looking out of place, he also has a synth-sax at the ready.

Okay. I was confused because the weapon has an area trait which normally doesn't require a strike roll.

I'm still not clear on how the saves apply. If the Primary Target strike hits, does that damage apply entirely, just like any attack vs. AC? Or does the target get a reflex save and if so, do they have to make two reflex saves, one for each rolled damage amount, or just one save for the combined amounts?

I made the primary target roll and got an 18. Then I rolled damage. It is my understanding you don't make a strike roll for an area attack. Enemies just roll saves.

Is the control room on our map in the bottom left corner? Do we need to move our tokens? If so, I'm not quite sure from the posts above exactly where we go to get to the control room and whether we will still be on this map when we get there.

"How about we get to the munitions room and offer to help fix the missile launcher in exchange for getting this Brie to switch sides?" Jock suggests. He moves to the animal head.

When Captain Concierge said he would have to crawl through the alien head, at first he though it was a bathroom for non-humanoids. He also thought there was cheese in the munitions room until he remembered some humanoids name their children after foodstuff.

He stows his cannon so his entrance does not make the crew in there assume he's there to attack.

Repair rolls are probably crafting, which Jock is not trained in. We'll need someone with some skill if we intend to attempt repair tasks.

That's what I was looking at. It has since occurred to me that this adventure was using the playtest rules, so the update to all grenades having range 70' was probably a change from the playtest.

Does throwing a grenade require a d20 roll to place it where you want to explode or is it like other area weapons where you can position the center of the burst anywhere within the first range increment without a strike roll?

Also, the adventure lists the frag grenades as having a 30' range, but p. 280 of the Starfinder Core Rules lists grenades as having a range of 70'. None of the grenade descriptions mention any other range values for individual grenades. It probably won't matter in this adventure, but which range is correct?

We've had some bad news at home that's making it a bit of a struggle to get in the right frame of mind to post. (Our 12 year old tom cat has cancer; he's not suffering bad effects yet, but we don't want to put him through chemotherapy or surgery, so we're going to give him a steroid that may help slow the progression and make the most of the time we have left with him.)
