So last week I ran one of the recent One-Shot adventures at my local lodge in Adventure Mode. It ended in a TPK. Does that mean that the character the players assigned the scenario to died?
If you're a Field Commissioned agent and you pick Underworld as your bonus Lore, and you have a background that gives you Underworld Lore, can you then pick another skill instead? Or do you have to pick one of the other options (Engineering, Legal, Mercantile) as your bonus Lore?
Here's another question: Can you select this ability for a spellcasting class that you're multiclassing into? It says that the spells have to be chosen at 1st level, that's referring to character level presumably?

Steven Schopmeyer wrote: So since I managed to score two Expanded Narrative boons in the same season, the second one that was used in the following season is invalid? Because it was not that seasons boon? I should have traded it to someone else or taken the race boon instead? We're talking about the more recent version that is available to every GM, not the previous scarce one that could be won at conventions etc.
So anyway, as someone who has used up the all the replays I got from the Season 8 Expanded Narrative boon, we're thinking that I'm good to go if I just print off the Season 8 one, cross out 8 and write in 9, is that correct? If someone from Paizo could confirm this that would be great.
Yeah, it would be nice to get confirmation from the Paizo team that you can just cross out 8 and write in 9.
Any word on whether this is going to happen?
Any word on when they might release the Season 9 Expanded Narrative boon?
This order is asking me for credit card details to complete, but I was just wanting to use store credit.
Hi there, I put this order through on 19 November, it was supposed to ship in 1 to 7 business days but it still pending?
In the 6-7 tier, the haunt triggers every round. Given it's based on proximity, does that mean it goes off every round as long as someone is in that room?

GM: I only hit AC10.
New Player (running Kyra): That gets me.
GM: Aren't you wearing armour?
New Player: I took it off.
GM: Why did you do that?
New Player: It was uncomfortable.
None of the product descriptions of the first 3 season 7 scenarios mention which factions they grant boons for / advance the storylines of. Is that no longer a thing in season 7, or has that information been left out by mistake?

Hmmmm. Is this opening to door to kobolds as a playable race in Season 7?
So the painful stare only does an extra 1d6 damage when you get to 3rd level? Or should it be 1d6 for every 3 levels (minimum 1d6)?

A guy named Crowe with anger issues - is his first name Russell?
Please cancel order #2885606. Thanks.
So the players in my campaign have purchased a galley to sail round in, which is not normally used on the open sea...
What would be the consequences of trying?
I'd be up for more time-focussed classes, and mor Anachronistic Adventurers.
Would also like to see a supers book and if that meant buying a modern book then so be it.
During the fight with the Rahadoumi captain, the rogue Gilderoy had been taken down after being hit with by the captain with her pike and then one of the sailors. Wesley the bard was standing behind Gilderoy and the captain attacked him on the next round, getting him down to about half his hit points. Rather than retreating he steps forward and makes a disarm attempt on the captain (who doesn't threaten adjacent squares with the pike), using his Inexplicable Luck feat to add +8 to the roll and succeeding. With nothing in his hands he ends up holding the pike, The captain draws her short sword and attacks. On his turn, Wesley steps back and attacks the captain with her own weapon, rolling... a 20! With a 19 on the confirmation roll he deals a total of 34 damage, killing the captain instantly. She had already been wounded by Gilderoy so it wasn't a solo, but still pretty impressive for a 2nd level bard.

I am playing in a Kingmaker campaign at the moment without xp awards and I find it quite frustrating. Definitely prefer the sense of achievement as mentioned above.
The rogue in my group, Gilderoy von Bismarck, has been nothing but (hilarious) trouble right from the start. When ambushed by the 4 pirates, he pulled out his weapon. 3 of the pirates backed off and fled but Phipps (I think his name is) pulled out a short sword and went in for the attack. The minotaur barbarian did some non-lethal damage on Phipps and then Gilderoy took him down with a sneak attack. Everyone else went upstairs to start work, but Master Scourge came down to the cabins to find Gildreoy had stripped Phipps naked, thrown away his clothes and suspended him upside down from the ceiling. He spent the next day (day 3) in the sweatbox for that and was pulled out at -8hp on a con of 10...

Can the Horn of the Deep Ones be used an unlimited number of times, or is it supposed t be 1/day, 3/day or something similar?
In my campaign Father Grimburrow took a stromg dislike to the gnome rogue Knickabocka who made a 'donation' to the church of Pharasma of some rocks made to look like gold ingots via prestidigitation.
After he cast zone of truth on the party, the Father was able to get two of the members (including the rogue) to admit to stealing church property (from the Restlands).
Knickabocka became convinced that the priest was out to get them and at the end of the last session of HoH I had Father Grimburrow disappear from town. Next session the party will discover that the real Grimburrow is dead in the cellar of his residence. His throat was slit only recently, but there is evidence that he had been held captive there for quite some time... So who was pretending to be him?
The players have no way of finding out that it was Adivion Adrissant at this stage, but it should make for a nice surprise at the end of the campaign.
I like how the APs have new creatures in the Bestiary and use monsters from the Tome of Horrors etc., keeps the PCs on their toes!
Yay for surprises to throw at jaded players!
I'd like to try the Time Warden from Super Genius Games, but it's probably a bit out there for my DM :(
Another vote for the Lost City - make mine Moldvay!

I was running a campaign where the players were fighting to stop a hobgoblin army. They had to destroy a small fort that the enemy had built over a trade road.
One of the players was running a gnome ninja who had died and been reincarnated as a goblin, but didn't, at that point, speak goblin. He decided to try and infiltrate the fort. When the hobgoblin guard challenged him, he replied in common. The guard asked him in common "Why don't you speak goblin?" His reply - "I'm from the south, it's a different dialect." I get him to roll a bluff with a total of 21, and rule that his story is unlikely it incurs a -20 penalty. The guard has no ranks in sense motive, but rolls a natural 1. With his wisdom of 8 that takes him down to 0 so he believes the ruse, opens the gate and lets the goblin in!
Now all you need to do is get those scenarios out and you could have 4 products in the top 10. Just sayin'.

Apparently no reply is required to this question. What does that mean? Can we get some official clarification on whether multiple Weird Words can be used against against a single target or not please?

Thinking up a pun shouldn't take more than a minute or two.

Name: Jason
Race: Human
Classes/levels: Cleric 4 / Paladin 2 / Holy Vindicator 2 (of Iomedae)
Adventure: City of Seven Spears
Location: The Farming District
Catalyst: The Green God
The Gory Details: Decided to use his ring of water walking to go investigate that little island with the pile of treasure on it by himself, while the rest of the gropoup waited on the boggard oracle's island.
When the froghemoth came out of the water, Jason was gone in 6 seconds.
Name: Melkesideck
Race: Dwarf
Classes/levels: Skirmisher Rogue 9
Adventure: City of Seven Spears
Location: The Farming District
Catalyst: The Green God
The Gory Details: The surviving members of the party engaged the monster. Two were swallowed but managed to cut their way out. When Melkesideck was bitten and caught in the froghemoth's mouth, it couldn't swallow him due to the muscular damage. He decided to climb down into the stomach anyway, reasoning that would be the safest place as he wouldn't have to worry about all the tentacles etc. His hypothesis was disproved.

Name: Edward McGinty-Armstrong
Race: Half-Orc
Classes/levels: Zen Archer Monk 7
Adventure: City of Seven Spears
Location: The Government District
Catalyst: Yog'Oltha
Name: Davrosk
Race: Half-Orc
Classes/levels: Ranger 7
Adventure: City of Seven Spears
Location: The Government District
Catalyst: Yog'Oltha
The Gory Details: While the group was exploring the Government District, I rolled a random encounter with the aboleth. I had the person who rolled the highest Perception check spot it while it swam past in the lake, this seemed like a good opportunity to introduce Yog'Oltha as a recurring villain without having him attack the PCs directly. This was the ranger who was able to identify it and got everyone to hide.
The next day, the party announced the were 'Going hunting for the aboleth' and returned to the same district. I rolled another random encounter occurring and the result was... again the aboleth. Yog'Oltha first appeared as a projected image of a serpentfolk wizard and started casting spells he was able to dominate a couple of members of the group, including Davrosk. Edward, meanwhile, came around the side of the ruined building and started shooting at the aboleth. Davrosk came after him and took him down in a couple of rounds and he bled out shotly after. The party cleric was able to use one of his domain powers to free Davrosk, who went and engaged Yog'Oltha in combat, only to be slain by his tentacles.
Funny thing is, Edward had once (purely for out-of-character reasons) untied a rope that Davrosk was climbing up, and it seemed that Davrosk just ignored the slight. But he got his revenge in the end...
Yes, although the paladin will only use the weapon when it has been blessed in order to avoid the negative levels.
By RAW Bless weapon makes the affected weapon good-aligned, which overrides and suppresses any alignment the weapon might have.
My group has obtained an intelligent LE sword and the paladin is thinking of applying bless weapon to use it.
This sword is a minor artifact. By RAW it is automatically affected, but I'm thinking that bless weapon only changes the alignment for combat purposes. The sword will still be LE and want to carry out its purposes of slay all, leading to a personality conflict at the end of the fight.
And should the sword be allowed a will save, even though the spell doesn't normally allow it?
Any thoughts appreciated.
So Clark, any word on when The Murmuring Fountain will be out? With a character who likes to sneak out at night to paint red letters on buildings in Ravengro, the group I run can probably use all the Trust they can get!
So, here's the party I'm running:
Nikaboka Tinkerknot - M CN Gnome Rogue 1.
Lune - F NG Gnome Barbarian 1.
Rustleshrub - M N Gnome Druid 1.
Raerrun "Tubbs" Tuddles - M LN Gnome Bard 1.
Generalissimo Qwertypugnacious of the Glorious Tenth Highland Legion of the Charitable Order of Most Exalted Torag's Volunteer Dragoon Militia - M LG Paladin 1.
By the time we actually got to playing tonight, we only got through the fight at the cemetery. And guess what, the group is now down 7 trust points, as one of the farmhands bled out before anyone could stabilise him, and I deducted another trust for when Tubbs opened up the coffin and suggested sticking the dead farmhand inside. Just lucky that Father Grimburrow and the gravediggers didn't see Nikaboka rifling through the pockets of an unconscious farmhand....
So looks like the matter of there not being enough trust in the adventure isn't going to be an issue in this game.
We'll be starting this AP next week or the week after that. Don't know the classes yet, but it's going to be an all-gnome party.
Yes, but if someone had 12 doses of opium in the real world, what would they look like?
The 12 doses of opium that the party can loot from one of the bad guys - what would they look like? A liquid, or a solid?
Are these going to be collected in a print product at some point?
I would greatly appreciate the puzzles too thanks dwtempest.

So I'm trying to figure out some series of linked areas that all give the PCs a piece of a phrase to translate, and getting all (or most) of them is nessecary to find then open a sealed door somewhere. Maybe this gimmic will replace the Juliver thing. (As it's a total bummer to learn that she & Eando got there first.)
Perhaps the door to the Vault of the Boday Thief is sealed and needs a phrase to open? This would prevent the players from entering it before the Gorilla King arrives.
Also, if you want to take a break from all the ruined city stuff, you could run your group through a home game version of PFS Scenario 34 - Encounter at the Drowning Stones. It's set in another part of the Mwangi Expanse, possibly giving opportunities to use material from Heart of the Jungle. One of the villains in it could even be substituted for a rematch with one of the villains from earlier in the AP (assuming they got away).
Pendagast wrote: City of seven spears even lacks good treasure and the stuff that is there is highly unlikely to be used by your party....
But in general, you're right.
For example, if you cast a Fireball and an ally with SR is within the blast radius, can you voluntarily fail the caster level check to overcome their Spell Resistance?
Just thought I'd mention here a sidequest I'm going to be running in the next session or so, while the characters are still in Eleder preparing to leave. I've taken the Freeport adventure 'Holiday in the Sun' (which can be downloaded for free from the Green Ronin website) and adapted it thus:
If an intelligent weapon bestows a negative level on any wielder with an alignment different from its own (say LG for the sake of argument), will a ring of mind shielding protect a non-LG wielder from this?
I'm thinking it wouldn't, as the weapon not being able to know someone's alignment, is not the same as them having the same alignment as the weapon. But would like to know what others think.
