Sorry y'all I've been absent (again! Man, I'm getting tired of this!), but I got swamped at work, plus on top of yardwork, my dad's asthma acting up (really badly I'm afraid), and looking for another job, I've been very very busy! I apologize for being absent and not giving a heads up. I hope y'all can forgive me.
If someone can give me a quick update that would be most appreciated.
"Oh bloody hell! Seems the spirits of evil pirates aren't happy about us taking over this ship, Captain! I'll stay aboard and hope I can lift the crew's spirits!
Sailor:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
She also begins singing a song that would lift the crew's spirits and aid them in fighting the storm!
Jerieth wasn't about to stop the sorcerer but she was too late. Saying that maybe they should be careful in the future when it comes to dealing with prisoners.
I like the idea of Sandara for Boatswain. As for me, I think my character would work as First Mate, given her diplomatic skills and abilities. It would help keep order as well as lift the crew's spirits. Especially since I'm trying to make Jerieth be the diplomat, backup healer, and backup arcane caster.
And what do y'all think of naming the ship Defiant Gale? Tried to come up with a name that was a compromise of mine and Sejanus's ideas.
"Hm...A bit morbid for my tastes, but I think it serves him right for what he did to so many others. But I would have turned him over to someone else. Maybe he might have ended up in a gallery. There he might have tasted the whip. Poetic justice if you ask me. But back to the topic of the ship's name: I thank you Captain Reinald for the vote of confidence in the name. I think Rising Gale would make sense since we would be the storm that would rain down upon our foes. Or...maybe a compromise."
She looked at Sejanus and said, "How about...the Defiant Gale? Catchy, shows that we and our crew won't back down, and uses both of our ideas."
While a bit annoyed she was chosen as captain she smiled at Reinald's suggestion.
"I probably would make a better First Mate than Quartermaster. Besides now that I think about it Captain Reinald has a nice ring to it. And it's...if I must admit it...quite romantic. I've always envisioned myself as a captain, but somehow I think you'll do better than me. Not sure why but something tells me that you'll do a great job as captain of the...hmm....Rising Gale?
She does a graceful bow towards Jord, while raising an eyebrow towards Morgan.
"I appreciate the praise. I've been around the seas a good bit, so I do have a lot of experience in the ways of the sea."
She then kissed Sandara on the cheek, adding, "As well as the ability to woo beautiful men and women into bed with me. And besides, if anything I say that I elect both Jord and Sandara as a ship clerics. I think both Kurgess and Besmara were looking out for us today."
I'm here as well. Been a busy few weeks for me as well but I'm still here. And yes Jerieth will toss her hat into the ring for the role as captain. Although she'll go around and call herself co-captain if she loses. ;P
I did think of a good name for our ship: Rising Gale.
I got the name from an old painting (that's the title of the painting), and I thought it would make a great name for a pirate ship. What do the rest of y'all think?
"No offense Jord but I think that I might make a better captain than you. Although depending on how the voting goes I'm happy to take the rank of co-captain!"
Tossing her long braided hair back over her shoulder, she raises her hand and yells, "One vote for Jerieth, and that's me!"
She then mentions to Sejanus, "I really need to work on my summoning spells more. I would have thought that Celestial hawk would have worked against Scourge."
Jerieth grins at the defeated Scourge and replies, "Really? You want us to trust someone like you? Why the Andoren navy would have court martialed you before you even set foot on a boat! By the Nine Hells, you would have been kicked out of their navy if you even got within a mile of a ship of any size!"
"Oh really? Let me tell you something Scourge, I've about had it with how you've been running this ship! Why you would have been court martial on your first day if you were part of the Andoran Navy, or the privateers who aid them in taking slavers! Why you're worse than the most despicable slaver! I hope Besmara, Desna, and Calistria ripe your soul three ways and send those three pieces in three different directions!"
She then addresses those who still hold loyalty to Scourge.
"And what about the rest of you? You shouldn't have to live in fear of this blackhearted bastard of a b&!$# any longer! Why with me as captain, we would all share in the bounty we gain! Slavers and those who violate the Pirate's Code will tremble in their boots at us!"
Diplomacy:1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 1 = 15
If a fight breaks out again, she'll cast another summon monster spell.
Jerieth casts a spell, while still supporting the rest of the mutineers. Suddenly, a majestic gold hawk appeared right behind the wicked Plugg, ready to sink its talons into the captain's neck, and face...and you get the idea!
She cast a spell to summon a celestial hawk right behind Plugg!
Not sure if I have to roll the hawk's attack now, or wait until when it is the hawk's turn.
"Not to mention, burning down the ship while at sea is not a good idea. I mean we could always persuade the rest of the crew to our side. I do have quite the silver tongue," the undine says with a grin before continuing, "This silver tongue of mine has gotten me out of a lot of tight spots before...not to mention into a lot of different beds before. And one of those beds I'm really enjoying."
"Aye, I agree with you, love. This ship does need new leadership," Jerieth told Sandara as she kissed her on the cheek.
"I can tell y'all that if Plugg and Scourge had served in the Andoren they would have been court-martialed before they even set foot on a boat, much less get anywhere near anything that floats in the water. By the three goddesses I worship, I bet they would get court-martialed even if they got near a toy boat."
She smirked at her jest.
"Still, I do have some spells that I can use. For one thing I can summon creatures. I've always found a fascination with celestial creatures, even though I'm not one of those holier-than-thou paladin types with a stick stuck up their arses. Never did care much for them anyhow. Too stuck up for my tastes."
You know this is ironic, since the paladin is one of my favorite classes!
Jerieth's temper is just a raging! Even though she easily performed her tasks, she felt it was wrong to punished someone who failed their tasks. Everyone was doing their best. And also threatening to punish anyone who tried to heal them! That was the last straw!
"Sandara, my love...hold me back please..." she said through clenched teeth, "because I'm about to flood those a@!$&&*s straight into a shark's jaws."
It's cool GM. Just my lost I guess. Although Paizo has been acting wonky for me lately, such as eating up my posts and stuff. But it's alright. Also, it hasn't been updating my notifications of new posts lately, and I apologize about this.
And sorry for not posting. There's been some trouble at work (no I'm not in trouble, but one of my coworkers is!), and so I had to pull double shifts yesterday and the day before so I couldn't get online. :(
I see. I didn't know he had to drop out. I'm sorry to see him go. :(
A shame though. I do hope we get a summoner or a ranger.
Jerieth can do both melee, ranged, and support roles.
Just curious here, but do y'all want me to work on good summons or something? I know we have a sorcerer who's lawful neutral and a cleric that's chaotic good, so I was just wondering.
Jerieth grins as she uses her magic to clean both her and Sandara up.
Jerieth used prestidigitation to clean themselves up.
Later that night, deep in the Man's Promise hold, Jerieth is grinning from ear to ear. She is looking forward to having a passionate night with the cleric.
"Hm...Oh this is going to be good," the undine said. She had brought a torch with her, although it was more for Sandara's benefit since undines are blessed with darkvision.
"Oh sugar, you're not the only who the heat of battle still running through them. You and I are about to make some beautiful music tonight. They say that making love is like a dance of the hearts, my darling Sandara. And this dance, is going to be quite stunning. Now, let's get started! Here, let me help ya darling out of those clothes. You should think about wearing less clothing, sugar. Makes things like this much easier to do. Now, come here..."
Fade to Black
Jerieth had a wild and intimate night with Sandara, enjoying the company of the Besmaran cleric, and Sandara's touch.
Hope I didn't go overboard. Scenes like this are real difficult since it's hard to figure out what everyone's comfort zone is.
Jerieth then asks Sandara to share a drink with her, and even going so far as to ask the cleric about her past.
"Hope ya don't think I'm prying sugar, but I'm just wanting to get know you more than just getting your clothes off. And trust me sweetie, you're quite the catch under those clothes of yours. I hope we can enjoy more nights together. You're the first person to be able to go several rounds with me in the bed, or in our case, the storage hold. Maybe next time, we can experience each other's company in the water. Trust me, it's a unique moment."
The undine winks as she flirts with Sandara, while awaiting the cleric's story of her past and how she ended up on the Wormwood.
Again I apologize for the scene there. I feel that I may have gone overboard. :(
Bardic Knowledge (Ex) You add +1 to all Knowledge checks and may make all Knowledge skill checks untrained.
Bardic Performance You are trained to use the Perform skill to create magical effects on those around you, including yourself if desired. You are trained to use the Perform skill to create magical effects on those around you, including yourself if desired. You can use this ability for 9 rounds per day. Each round, you can produce any one of the types of bardic performance that you have mastered. Starting a bardic performance is a standard action, but it can be maintained each round as a free action. Changing a bardic performance from one effect to another requires the bard to stop the previous performance and start a new one as a standard action. A bardic performance cannot be disrupted, but it ends immediately if you are killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a free action to maintain it each round. You cannot have more than one bardic performance in effect at one time.
Bardic Performance A watersinger has some unique bardic performances, which replace some of the standard bardic performances as listed in each entry. These bardic performances follow all the general rules and restrictions of a bard's bardic performances.
Cantrips You have learned a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells. These spells are cast like any other spells, but they do not consume any slots and may be used again.
Countersong (Su) You can counter magic effects that depend on sound (but not spells that have verbal components). Each round of the countersong you make a Perform (keyboard, percussion, wind, string, or sing) skill check. Any creature within 30 feet (including yourself) that is affected by a sonic or language-dependent magical attack may use your Perform check result in place of its saving throw if, after the saving throw is rolled, the Perform check result proves to be higher. If a creature within range of the countersong is already under the effect of a noninstantaneous sonic or language-dependent magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it hears the countersong, but it must use your Perform skill check result for the save. Countersong does not work on effects that don't allow saves. Countersong relies on audible components.
Darkvision (Ex) Range 60 ft.; Darkvision is the extraordinary ability to see with no light source at all, out to a range specified for the creature. Darkvision is black and white only (colors cannot be discerned). It does not allow characters to see anything that they could not see otherwise-invisible objects are still invisible, and illusions are still visible as what they seem to be. Likewise, darkvision subjects a creature to gaze attacks normally. The presence of light does not spoil darkvision.
Darkvision
Distraction (Su) You can use your performance to counter magic effects that depend on sight. Each round of the distraction, make a Perform (act, comedy, dance, or oratory) skill check. Any creature within 30 feet (including yourself) that is affected by an illusion (pattern) or illusion (figment) magical attack may use your Perform check result in place of its saving throw if, after the saving throw is rolled, the Perform skill check proves to be higher. If a creature within range of the distraction is already under the effect of a noninstantaneous illusion (pattern) or illusion (figment) magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it sees the distraction, but it must use your Perform skill check result for the save. Distraction does not work on effects that don't allow saves. Distraction relies on visual components.
Energy Resistance (Ex) Undines have cold resistance 5.
Hedonistic You are a creature of pleasure and comfort. Whenever you spend a day without gaining reward or treasure (at least 10 or more gold pieces) or spending an hour on entertainment or pleasure, attempt a DC 20 Fortitude save at the end of that day. If you fail, you begin the next day fatigued. This fatigue lasts 4 hours, or until you receive a reward or sufficient entertainment or pleasure.
Inspire Courage (Su) You can use your performance to inspire courage in your allies (including yourself), bolstering them against fear and improving their combat abilities. To be affected, an ally must be able to perceive your performance. An affected ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls. Inspire courage is a mind-affecting ability. Inspire courage can use audible or visual components. The bard must choose which component to use when starting his performance.
Reactionary You were bullied often as a child, but never quite developed an offensive response. Instead, you became adept at anticipating sudden attacks and reacting to danger quickly. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.
Resistance to Cold (Ex) You may ignore 5 points of Cold damage each time you take cold damage.
Sea-Souled (Coastline or Island) You are at home at sea. You receive a +1 trait bonus on Swim checks, and you can always take 10 while Swimming.
Swim Undines can move in water at 30' speed
Touched by the Sea You've always felt the call of the sea and your blood surges with the ebb and flow of the tides. Perhaps one of your parents was a sailor or pirate, or maybe one of your ancestors had a bit of aquatic elf or undine blood in them. Whatever the reason, you're as comfortable in the water as you are on land. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Swim checks and Swim is a class skill for you. In addition, penalties on attack rolls made underwater are lessened by 1. You came to Port Peril in search of your destiny, and after a few drinks at a tavern called the Formidably Maid, you went down to the docks to take in a view of the sea. The last thing you remember is a blow to the back of your head and the waves rushing up to meet you.
Versatile Performance (Act) (Ex) You can use your bonus in the Perform (Act) skill in place of your bonus in the Bluff or Disguise skills. When substituting in this way, you use your total Perform (Act) skill bonus, including class skill bonus, in place of your Bluff or Disguise skill bonus, whether or not you have ranks in that skill or if it is a class skill.
Water Affinity (Ex) Undine sorcerers with the elemental (water) bloodline treat their Charisma score as 2 higher for all sorcerer spells and class abilities. Undine spellcasters with the Water domain use their domain powers and spells at +1 caster level.
Watersinger Spells A watersinger adds certain waterthemed spells to his spell list. He adds these abilities to his spell list as soon as his bard level allows him to cast spells of that spell level.
Watersong (Su) A watersinger can use bardic performance to manipulate and control the shape of water within 30 feet. A successful Perform check allows the bard to animate and control 7 5-foot-cubes of water (these cubes must be adjacent to each other). The watersinger can command the water to take various forms, bend, rise, fall, or sustain a shape, and can make it support weight as if it were solid ice. For example, the watersinger could create a pillar of water (to provide cover), ladder, channel, bridge, stairs, slide, and so on. The manipulated water is as slippery as normal ice. This ability cannot create forms more fragile or complex than what could be carved in normal ice. While under the bard's control, the water has hardness 0 and 3 hit points per inch of thickness. The manipulated water retains its shape for 1 round after the bard stops spending bardic performance rounds to maintain it.
Well-Versed (Ex) You have becomes resistant to the Bardic Performance of others, and to sonic effects in general. You gain a +4 bonus on saving throws made against Bardic Performance, sonic, and language-dependent effects.
"Say Sandara, how about you and I go find some alone time? I'm sure we can find somewhere...private...I would really like to see what you look like underneath those clothes of yours. And I like those tattoos of yours. And who knows, maybe I'll give you a private dance just for you..."
Jerieth grins as she flirts with the cleric of Besmara.
Jerieth clicks her tongue on the roof of her mouth as she nodded at Kunala after he has shot the man who tried to take up arms.
"Hope you didn't shoot him too badly Kunala. Not that I'm complaining that he got what he deserved for being stupid, but still in my experience, even idiots have a right to live, even though it would be better for everyone if they didn't."
She laughs a bit before continuing, "Oh I just sound like my old Andoren captain! I always did find that raiding slaver ships to be quite...lucrative."
Jerieth, despite keeping an eye on the captured sailors, fails to overhear the captured prisoners' talk.
"Well, hopefully, these sailors will be glad that we spared them. I don't think the captain would be happy if some of them misbehaved. He most likely would toss you overboard to fend off the sharks, and having some aquatic elven blood in me, I don't like doing that, but I'm not the captain, so I don't have any say in what happens, but I can vouch to the captain for you that y'all surrendered even after putting up a decent resistance, so he most likely will let you live and sail with him," the undine said to the captured prisoners.
Please note, she probably fails to overhear the prisoners talking because she's busy talking to them!
I'm still here y'all. I'll have a post up tomorrow. Things are settling down now well they were but seems that we will get some snow this weekend but I'll post something tomorrow.
Not sure if I can use a spell while staggered and since casting a spell would cause me to suffer an AOO I rolled a concentration check. Now off to bed!
