Jerex nods at the hostess and then to everyone else, "We should probably look for him if we do not hear from him today? He may have ran into trouble and is hiding out. This mission he has challenged us with will be in jeopardy if he is taken out of the equation too early and I believe he knows this so he is taking extra precautions, and making allies."

Jerex looks to Bathus and the group, "My past dealings with Paladins is that they do not take bribes or tithes unless they are falling or fallen Paladins. I am guessing the only way into the courthouse is through cloak and dagger unless someone here can influence one of the judges or politician admittance into the courthouse?"

Jerex shakes his head in failure, "Bathus and I were unsuccessful gaining access into the courthouse. They have it locked down because of both the murder and they want the investigation to remain internal. We have three choices, let it go, have someone who has better diplomatic skills attempt to gain access, or one of our more clandestine type members gain access in less than legal ways to ascertain what we seek?" Jerex clasps his hands on the table.

Team 3: "Come along Bathus, I do not think we are going to get much done this way." After walking far enough away, Jerex turns to Bathus, "We either need to sneak in there at night or perhaps ask our more stealthy party members to sneak in the courthouse to ascertain the information we seek?"

On the way out the door "Sounds good Mr Bathus, let's proceed to this courthouse place. If I remember correctly ..." The Safe House door shuts behind them. Investigative Team 3: "... the court house is a place where they determine innocence and guilt of a suspect?" Both Bathus and Jerex continue to walk to the Court house and enter looking for someone to request permission to check out the judges quarters.

Jerex retires or goes to sleep about the same time as everyone does. "Goodnight everyone and pleasant dreams!" However unlike most humanoids, Jerex does not lay down to sleep. He sits down with his legs crossed and his eyes wide open, then his eyes begin to glow a brighter blue. He is awake long before anyone else is and is found reading the books that Bathus gave him. He greets everyone as they wake up from their nightly slumber, "Good Morning, I hope you slept well last night! Ready for today? After Bathus leaves the pastries and coffee on the table, Jerex goes to get a cup and (1) pastry, "Thank you Mr. Bathus for breakfast!" After breakfast, Jerex responds to Bathus' comments, "Yes indeed, games are afoot! I am ready to head out when you are." Today, Jerex looks more like a monk and he has his backpack nearby which he will take with them when Bathus is ready. In the past, he learned to take all his gear with him just in case he finds himself elsewhere and not having a chance to prepare.

Jerex nods in agreement with Brie and looks at her, "I agree with her, we should wait until the morning. Not only do we need our rest but we are more vulnerable to the same attacks at night. As for pairing up, I don't mind who it is but we should not pair up two or more party members who have problems relating in a social setting such as myself. And further more, do you think the Shire Reeves or Sleuths or whatever they are called in this city would notice any similarities between the less fortunate versus the wealthy victims?"

Skills:
Jerex looks at Karson with an inquisitive look since he has not come across "gangs" in his reading, "Karson, what is a gang and do they have a pattern like cults and religious groups appear to have? Gang is a new word to me and it is probably covered later in the Tome of On Crime?"

Skills:
Jerex nods at Eran's comment, then looks to Bathus, and then to the group, "I also was reading in the Tomes of On Crime and Tales of an Urban Sleuth that Bathus gave me and the Sleuth or Shire Reeve talked to the neighbors and friends about the people who were murdered to also help solve the case. Perhaps this is what we should do too? In the Tome of On Crime, it stated that serial killers go after generally weaker people than them to avoid injury. So unless the Paladin or Cleric was ill or crippled, according to the Tome, it wouldn't be a serial killer."

Skills:
Jerex rubs his chin some more, "Can we tell from what we have who can possibly be murdered in the months of Rova and then Lamashan Are there any recorded rituals that demon worshipers or cultist be following each month until final one for something to happen?" ... Jerex looks at Bathus, "Mr Bathus have you read anything about any sort of rituals for the pattern we have now?" ... Jerex looks at Ethan, "Yes, yes, what about you Ethan since you are closer to religion than most of us?"

Before dinner, Jerex reads the Tomes that Bathus has given him. At the dinner table, "I am finding murder mysteries to be interesting but I understand that real murder isn't. I read that most Shire Reeves (which later became Sheriff) use the the method of the (5) Ws plus H, or the who, what, where, when, why, and how to help the Shire Reeve to reveal the murder mystery. For that reason, I would like to take a look at this dossier and perhaps we should write down the (5) Ws and the How?"

@Brie - Technically, I like to be geeking out but the budget has been limited lately to purchase $800+ network devices for the home. I imagine there will be no time for you play MMO even when you start private practice. You may have to wait until retirement. As for LARPing, it's ok but I prefer the SCA, our the Roman equivalent of the SCA, and/or real Medieval Martial Arts which do actually exist in Europe. I watched a special on it one day and it is totally different, deadly, and it makes sense from what we have seen or read about in the modern era regarding medieval fighting. In other words, how they fought back then is a lost art. I think the only sword fighting that is preserved is out of Japan and China. Right now, I am taking Krav Maga and my studio is very into all aspects of Krav Maga including survival and firearms. @Tenro - I agree I hate X grinding and one of the main reasons why I no longer play LOTRO. In my opinion, DDO is getting better especially since we have moved to the Forgotten Realms which is by far my most favorite Campaign Setting pre-DnD 4.0.

Hmm, it appears that Bathus is busy. Moving along Jerex and Bathus arrive back at the safehouse, and Jerex organizes his gear and space. Once finished, he joins the group, So what did I miss while Bathus and I were transferring gear and preparing for a long stay here are the safe house?"

Skills:
I am starting to like DDO again. The main beef I had with DDO is you needed someone to adventure with to play and sometimes it was real difficult to find people. They kind of fixed that with NPCS but it can still get dicey even with NPCs. I only play DDO maybe once a week or more if I get bored or enticed to play with our very small guild. As for SWTOR, I like it a lot, the combat is faster but it can get grindy like many MMOs. However, SWTOR is far less grindy than LOTRO - The One Ring of Grinding. Maybe one day, they can create dynamic content that will make the MMO feel more like a single player computer game such as the Fallout genre than the traditional grindy MMO to keep players busy as they develop more content. Perhaps with the next expansion, soon to be released, SWTOR will pick up. The next expansion has free form space dog fighting. I do not know if it was because the ESO was in beta or because it is an MMO, but the graphics does not seem as good as Skyrim using mods from the Nexus and ENB Series.

Jerex laughs, "Not all would agree with you Mr. Bathus that my manners are impeccable. Perhaps it is because we are the same in our own way? And yes, I feel sorry for those who make an attempt on us when we or all of us are teamed up. Perhaps that is why they tried to turn us into a barbecue instead of running into the inn to fight us as a whole? Anyway, thank you for the escort and yes we are now friends!" ... Jerex extends his hand to Bathus to shake. Jerex and Bathus head out to Jerex's rented cottage to gather his things, change outfits, and leave a note for the land lord with the key. Basically the note reads, "I needed to leave, all caught up on rent, and here is the key." Then they head back to the safe house with his gear.
**WIP** | Forgeborn | Male Form Adult
Skills:
GM Jen - Bathus and Jerex can role play a little more while getting Jerex's stuff. In the past, my PnP/PbP GM/DMs usually did not like it when the party splits or side quests take too long and they would do things to "quickly" end it. However, if you are encouraging it now, I am sure both of us would like to role play it out more.

Jerex is amazed that the little creature can carry all of those books and takes them all from him! "Thank you Mr. Bathus, do you have anything on our city as well? I guess we will be making two trips? All these books, the gear you are going to use for our arrangements with Mr Samuel, and plus what I have at my house." Jerex waits for Bathus to gather his things and the book(s) about Magnimar, then head out to safe house to drop everything off. "Mr Bathus you can stay here at the safe house or come with me to get my gear and give up my cottage rental since I will move to the safe house." Just speeding things up along so we can be with the group, be thorough, and have some role playing in the fast forwarding.
