Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Either way works for me.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger watches impassively, observing the proceedings, but offering nothing more than his presence. He takes note of the bandaged young man, but continues to maintain his silence.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Never one to focus attention on himself and his capabilities, Jeger changes the subject a bit, "That assumes there will be tournament seasons anytime soon. Things are not looking promising that such things will be an option for the near future."

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

"As I understand it, I am the documentation. Living proof as it were of our bonds, both as a diplomat and a warrior."

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

What precisely where the tasks/documentation that Jeger was expected to do when he arrived at the Red Keep? I know he's there to confirm a past pact, but you never said what that entailed.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger just raises an eyebrow a bit at the fact that Lindynt allowed that critical detail to slip by him, but chalks it up to the confusion of the more immediate concerns he had to deal with in getting the keep back in order. The bit about the betrothal makes Jeger really glad that he is but an messenger from elsewhere and not in Lindynt's position. While he can certainly understand the woman's reaction, she did not strike him as being one that he would want to have to deal with on a daily basis.

Jeger listens to Lindynt's speech impassively, having heard most of it. The gauntlet part was new, but he doubted that by itself, it would do much. After all, many different kinds of magic allowed for flames. Still, he tries to help the new lord of the keep out a bit, even if he can't do a whole lot. "Lady Olistan, I cannot fully confirm everything he has said, as I have only arrived in the last few hours myself, after the battle was over, but I have seen nothing to make me believe that Lord Auroral is lying or trying to hide anything about his ascent to his current position. Despite the wildness in some of the bits of the story, it has borne up under the weight of my own examination of the keep and the more concerning portions of the tale."

Diplomacy (aid another) 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Jeger heads to the audience chamber, rather glad that he is on the sidelines of the bulk of this discussion, and able to act as one who listens more than one who has to talk.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Watching the scene, Jeger is glad that he isn't the one who gets to explain the situation, yet again, to yet another individual after such a long day. Silently wishing Lindynt luck, he returns to his room to get fully cleaned up. A formal audience may or may not be forthcoming, but either way, it was best to be prepared.

Knowledge (nobility) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger straightens up his clothes when he hears the royal herald, and starts to move in the direction of the gate, wondering just how much more crazy the day can get.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger continues to help clean up, focusing on tasks that require moving and/or lifting heavy objects, where his strength is most effective at freeing up other men for other tasks.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

After a bit of a break, Jeger will go out and see what he can do to help with the cleanup, both to get to know the people here better, and he's not a man to stand aside and not act.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger thanks Lindynt and follows the guard to a plain, but intact, room. While he suspects it's not the usual room used to house ambassadors, it is more than enough for Jeger, and he wonders once more at just how much damage the place sustained if this qualifies as one of the better rooms. After quickly washing himself off and changing into a different set of clothes, he nibbles on some snacks as he sits and ponders just how he is going to explain this to his chief.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

"You have to remember that not everyone is highly versed in the details and minutia of the matters this discussion has touched upon. Many of us are focused on the other areas of life that require attention. Now that you have started speaking in something other than virtual gibberish, we can start to work on a solution." Jeger tries to bring his own frustration in check as he turns to Lindynt. "Is there perhaps some place I can rest while you figure out your next move? I am weary from a long day, and it is apparent that I am going to be of little use to anyone here, myself included, until things have settled down a bit. Perhaps when we are all a bit more relaxed, we can attempt to restart this conversation in a more pleasant manner."

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

"My question is very simple. This is all well and good to know what is happening here immediately, but what precisely does it mean on the larger scale?" Jeger is completely beyond his ability to understand the situation, and is clearly not happy about it.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

I fully agree that job hunting sucks, being in the middle of it myself.

Jeger frowns as he listens. He seems to start to speak before deciding the better of it and waiting to see the response of those apparently more familiar with the situation, trying to put what he has seen and heard into a context that will help his lord understand the situation, a difficult task when he himself barely understood it after seeing it all first hand.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

I'm here. Just assume I follow since I won't have time to really type a full response out due any time today. Work battered me hard this weekend.

"While I do not doubt your words, as I have already seen much that gives me reason to believe you, I do hope you have something you can use to prove your position, otherwise my report is going to be rather difficult to swallow back home. You must admit that an alliance with beastmen and the old lord ascending to the heavens are not precisely common occurances." Jeger tries to smooth the ruffled feathers, as things are already bizarre enough without having potential allies trying to yell at each other.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger just rolls his eyes a bit at both the priest and the laughing answer to it. He's beginning to think that he's gotten himself deep in something he may come to regret; between the alliance with the beastmen, and all this talk about the gods as if they had a personal interest in what happened here, he was starting to wonder if the chief was going to believe his report. "I'm sure the priest just isn't used to the intricacies of these matters that often prohibit immediate answers."

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

I'd have to go with 7, than tactics, than all of the others, myself, as far as the overall game is concerned. The others had their strengths, but the game as whole just failed to grab me and pull me in to the same degree.

Jeger looks over the apparent new lord of the manor, trying to figure out the how best to shape his questions and business with very little to go on. Deciding to match bold for bold, as befits a proper warrior, the massive man speaks in a deep and clear voice, "I am Jeger Warstout, emissary from Chieftain [name] of the Sharanai, come to affirm our pact of alliance and friendship. If you are the lord here now instead of Reinholdt Rammsteiner, than you are indeed the man that I have come to do business with." Jeger's armor, and weapons, though simple, make it clear that he is no stranger to battle himself, though the prominence of a 3 piece staff on his back is not what many would expect for a weapon of choice.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

"This is troublesome news, and the chieftain will not be entirely pleased. Civil war is not needed in this time of trouble; of course, there really is no good time for it, but now is certainly not one of the better times." Jeger is thoughtful as he takes in the blue mage's words.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger follows the guard, taking in the full extent of the "decorations" with an ever increasing frown. "That is certainly true, though one of your background being overly secretive will end up drawing a fair amount of attention, even if the secretiveness is entirely valid." Aside from watching the scene, he seems quite relaxed, and used to having to wait.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger will take advantage of the offer of more comfortable accommodations, not wanting to be in the way of the hallway traffic while he waits. Speaking to the Tybalt, "Come, good sir, let us get out of the way of these good guards. We shall get our answers soon enough, I suspect, and will probably wish we had not, if the scene around us is any indication."

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger nods to the man as he walks by, starting to wondering if the request for aid was going to be a mutual one. Turning to the man beside him, "It's unusual to see a man of your faith here. If I may ask, what errand pulls you up here?"

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

"Jeger Warstout, humble servant of Chieftain [enter name here]. Is the current mess (indicating the recent signs of battle) one that should concern me and my lord?" Despite having a fair amount of experience in these diplomatic jobs in support roles, he still couldn't quite believe that he had been sent out on his own, and wanted to miss no important details.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger frowns as he watches the scene before him, but he knows he has a duty to fill, and a job to do, and with that in mind, he enters the keep, asking about for who is responsible for receiving diplomatic messengers, keeping an eye on the beastmen the entire while.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

You know the story up to this point and the world better than I do; I'll let you handle the entrance.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

I don't care either way, but it's probably best to at least have it generally known what role people could potentially fill. Doesn't mean they actually have to do it, but knowing what could be done is helpful.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Master-at-arms or diplomat would best fit Jeger. He is a bit of a specialist with his weapon, but he would be familiar with general training. Diplomat, he does have at least some training, even if he's never really applied it in that way.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Hello, all. Your friendly barbarian reporting for duty.

Here is Jeger in his completed form. I added the languages, a bit more description, and a sap.
