Very strange they would be here at the same time as us, though their idea that our investigation interfered with their mission seems somewhat obtuse. "It seems to me that we're done here. Let's take these notes and bring them back to Mr. Dreng."

Isn't the barbarian sickened? That should be -2 to attack and damage, as well as -2 for the saving throw below. "Well, I've got one last trick up my sleeve. Here goes nothing! Jaeron nervously steps up next to the fallen Verdant and casts a spell, as a dizzying array of colors flies from his hands at the enemies! Move action: Move up 15 feet to alongside Verdant

*muttering in Varisian* Jaeron sees that the barbarian has returned and decides to make him pay for that decision. He moves over behind Falshin, whispers a few arcane words, and a black ray fires from his finger at the barbarian. Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 4 = 16 Move action: Move 30 ft. over to behind Falshin to the west

Jaeron takes a step up behind Fae and looks at the dwarf with the shortsword. "You should go check on your friend, and see how's he doing out there...." 5-foot Step Forward, behind Fae

Damn, that surprise round was ruthless. Hearing the commotion from the tunnels, Jaeron comes running out and sees the scene in front of him. "You scoundrels! GET AWAY FROM HIM!!!" Jaeron waves a hand and speaks a small incantation before staring down the barbarian, casting a spell. Move action: Move 30 ft. away from previous position down the tunnel.

Jaeron follows Kam through the cavern, to the corner room. "Hmm, it appears this cavern was shaped using magical means." At seeing the corner room with countless amounts of reports, Jaeron begins to go through the equipment. "There is a vast amount of reports here. Time is of the essence, so I strongly suggest we take these with us and return to the lodge. This gem here is also of considerable value."
Male Elf Necromancer (Thassilonian Specialist)/2nd
Jaeron follows Kam into E2f. "Hmm, wasn't the name Doulgonlir Caskmail written down in some notes at Fimbrik's house?" Jaeron begins to search around the room. He'll also make special attention to the shrine to Caskmail. Can I take 20 on a perception check to take my time with it? Otherwise, my roll is below Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 8

Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 "Good sir, I understand your position here as caretaker for this burial site, and I have the utmost respect for your position as such. But, we are simply here investigating a rather important matter, and we believe that key information may be found within the tomb of a stone-mason by the name of Arkath. We'd simply like to investigate this matter and be on our way. As for your request for 50gp, I hardly find that to be suitable. After all, this isn't a burial ground of Abadar, is it?" Jaeron reads through the letter the team found. "This all seems very weird. We researched a lead just to come up with more questions. This does also point to the Wall of Names at the Grand Lodge, however." "I would suggest we continue with our plan to head to the Crypt in Eastgate. While we have more clues directing us to the Wall of Names, I feel like we should exhaust our initial lead to the crypt first."

Jaeron seems surprised by the sudden beetles, and steps back to launch a spell at one. Ranged Touch Attack (Acid Splash): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
5 foot step away from the beetles.

Jaeron looks over the group and thinks for a moment. "Well, I have an idea. Not sure it's going to work though..." Jaeron mutters a few words while pointing his finger at the door handle and lock. A small splash of green ooze begins spraying from his hands. Just repeated acid splashes at the door handle and locking mechanism to see if it can eat through it.

Bah, posted with the wrong PvP character before. Sorry! "Ok, here goes nothing!" Jaeron takes a step up, pulls a flask from his bag, and tosses it towards the swarm. Ranged Splash Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
5-Foot step forward

Jaeron waves his arms around wildly, seemingly getting attacked by these bats. "Ugh, I'm suddenly having second thoughts about this whole 'Pathfinder' business!" Fortuitude Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 Jaeron seems to be keeping his composure together, though you think he's going to be in trouble if this swarm gets to him again. Don't count on me moving. At this rate, I'm going to be unconscious, bleeding, and below 0 HP next round

Jaeron flips through some of the paperwork. While it's not his usual field of study, he seems to recall some things. "Hmm, I've heard of this 'Selmius Foster' before. He's a Pathfinder from older history with some renown. I believe Adolphus was his assistant." Jaeron reads through a few documents of note... i.e. the handouts "Selmius mentions this gnome Fimbrik, though I wonder if he could still be alive. Adolphus also mentions the mausoleum that holds Arkath's remains may have something for us. Finally, Adolphus mentions tampering with The Wall of Names, which if I'm not mistaken, is the memorial at the Grand Lodge. "Well, where would like to go?" How intriguing! Jaeron thinks to himself, I never suspected such an investigative mystery working for the Pathfinders!

GM Nowruz wrote: "Let us talk about practical matters. Are you well prepared for your missions in the field? I mean the various threats that often hamper Pathfinder expeditions such as magical effects, swarms, traps, and other vexing obstacles? I want to ensure you and your friends are prepared for the challenges to come." Jaeron seems to have been caught off-guard. "Oh, well yes, hmm. I suppose I'm about as prepared as I could be given my skill set. I bought a dagger, although I'm not really prepared to use it. I don't unfortunately have anything for swarms, though it seems like it's something I should invest in once I have more coin. My specialty is necromancy, you see. Not a lot of elemental damage effects with what I work with."

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Jaeron continues his discussion with Mr. Kaleel "Ah, I wasn't quite aware that this was an establishment predominantly frequented by Pathfinders. I will have to make a note of that. "Well, yes I am rather new. As a matter of fact, I'm currently on my very first 'mission' for the Society; Mr. Dreng has sent me and my colleagues on an errand." Jaeron ponders the question regarding his own goals within the Society. "Hmm, my own goals? I suppose I haven't put much thought into it. I'm a Wizard who studies the ways of Thassilonian Magic, and I heard that Pathfinders love their ancient sites and relics, so I thought maybe I could learn a bit more than what I've learned from my own studies? Of course, the idea of doing some good and traveling the world is also an attractive prospect. I've spent so much of my life in Varisia studying the Thassilonians, that I'm looking forward to seeing what else this world has to offer."

GM Nowruz wrote: "Oh young man, do you care to join me discussing this book? But please sit down and let us have tea first." Jaeron seems surprised at the man's generosity. He peeks at the book cover to get an idea of the title of the book. "Oh, don't mind if I do, good sir. My name is Jaeron, and it is a pleasure to meet you. Tell me, what exactly is this book about?"

Jaeron snaps out of his haze, as he's been drifting off. Spoiler:
Somebody got distracted by GenCon and GenCon prep. Sorry about that. "Ah, yes. Bottle of wine. Of course, couldn't be simpler, right? Jaeron meanders over to the bar and has a seat next to Fae "I'll take a whiskey, neat. But only a half-pour. Don't want to distract myself from the task at hand."
Male Elf Necromancer (Thassilonian Specialist)/2nd
Jaeron turns to Fae. "Oh dear, I should hope our combats would not require me to draw my blade. I'm afraid I'm not really all that useful with a dagger, and I believe if I have to rely on it, there would definitely be a problem." Jaeron takes a seat at the large meeting table. "My name is Jaeron, and it is a pleasure to meet you all. I've spent most of my life in Varisia studying the ways of ancient Thassilonian magic. I've heard the Pathfinder Society is a good way to study some of the histories of our world and do some good for it, while we're at it. I hope my talents are of some use on our journey."

Knowledge (Local, untrained): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 A tall, robed figure enters the meeting room. His limbs seem to be usually long for his figure. He removes the hood from his robe to reveal a rather tanned elven face with long back hair. A small rat scurries from his shoulder to behind his head, hiding amongst his hair. His robes are covered in arcane markings and glyphs of an ancient language. "Oh dear, my apologies. It appears I am the last to arrive. I believe it is safe to assume you are my companions for this adventure? Of course, this is just conjecture, I've never actually done anything like this before." He looks about the room, making eye contact with everyone. "Hmm, I don't suppose one of you is Mr. Dreng?"

However, Jaeron's rather low strength means he doesn't have a lot of offensive mundane capabilities. He doesn't have the carrying capacity for a crossbow, so the best he can do is throw some daggers for rather little damage. He does have three knowledge skills (Arcana, Planes, Religion) so that will be his best non-combat contributions. Important to note that I did give up most of my base Elven racial traits, including my immunity to sleep. |
