Indeed...

Can't wait till the 11th. Just curious to see the pair that gets picked almost more than anything...

Think I forgot to mention that my character sheet is all set.

does this remind anyone else of the 'Gentleman Bastards'?

You wanna be Locke or Jean cuz I certainly thought of that too!

Very cool, I like it so far. May I ask why a kitsune? As far as I can tell the story would have been the same had they been human or half-elf or something. It doesn't count against you or anything, just asking.

Sure. It actually started with the idea of wanting some thief rooted in some sort of Japanese lore. I had an idea that i scrapped but the character was named Jade Fox so i thought why not make her an actual Fox. Then i thought the daring bravado seemed swashbucklery and when i thought about it the mechanics really made the idea shine. I don't have a problem having her be human. Just envisioned the disguise thing. Plus she probably spends more time in some fox form.

The Black Whale huh? The worst part about it, is I didn't even commit a crime for this one. Sure, I've pulled off my fair share of robberies. But it feels wrong being arrested for a crime I didn't even do. Worse yet, I was framed. That spiteful tiefling Jerrux - sellout. And all because he didn't get the Blackrose job, so he set me up on some fake score. He'll get his - when I get out of here, that is. I've never killed anyone on purpose before. He might be the first.

Guess, since I have time, I could tell you how this all started.
My brother was sick. Real sick. Like deadly sick. Some super plague or something. Not sure what it was. I'll leave that to the medics. Couldn't afford a doctor. Needed some money quick, so I decided the only way to come by some coins that fast was to take it. Slippery slope, this thought process is. The doctor was good. He was doing a good job, but my brother, Heihachi, couldn't quite shake it, so the doctor kept visiting, and the bills kept coming in. So it was back to the proverbial well. One thing I learned. Once you're ok with doing a thing once, doing it again ain't so hard.

Since then, Heihachi's gotten better, but now it's too hard to keep looking him in the eye, day after day. He'd be ashamed of me. Worse yet he'd speak some shame about dishonoring the family and whatnot. He's a good man, but sometimes he get's real self-righteous, ya know? So I had to leave.

It wasn't too long before I got "employed" on a job-to-job basis, after I arrived in Varisia. Once I proved my worth, I got involded in an unsanctioned "guild" (calling it that would be glorifying it greatly). I got a lead on a big one. A merchant in Korvosa was transporting some jewels from the bank of Abadar to a ship for transport. After weeks of planning, I made off with the jewels and the ship to go along with it. I thought I had done it all unseen, but some begger saw the whole thing go down on the docks. Said it was a fox-folk who done it. They started calling me the Jade Fox. I bet they thought they were cute, with me being Kitsune, and us coming from Tian Xia and all. Trouble was, the jewels were emeralds. Witless racists. Jade indeed!

So now my ship's brought me to Absalom, only I had to sell it to score a flat here. And now I've lost that too. Probably the rest of the load as well. Talk about some bad luck! From my own ship to sitting imprisoned here in the Black Whale.

First thing I do when I get out of this cell is hit the flat. See if there's anything left. Second is see if Lovely is around. She's my cut-out. I get all my jobs from her, and if I haven't got any work, at least I can get some leads from her. She should be somewhere around the Crimson Coin. Third is track down that no-good Jerrux. He's gonna pay.
