I just worked on the dragonets ancestry itself (well, and a few bigger dragons elsewhere in the book). I can say pearl dragonets generally prefer their fanmail wrapped in baked goods (we have that in common). Arita wrote: Coming out with an incredible banger of an ancestry right away I see. Please, as the kids say, keep cooking. I'm hoping to see more amazing stuff from you in the future! Aw, thanks! :D
This was the first ancestry I've gotten to write for Paizo, and I had so much fun with it. I hope everyone loves them as much as I do and is as eager to play with them as I am. (I also secretly hope that they make you ask your GM if you can have ancestral paragon instead of free archetype. Though I guess I just spilled that secret.)

The venture-officers have been organized, the other GMs have been generous in sharing their handouts/fancy tokens (shoutout to David Malkiewicz!), and the players have almost all been engaged and a joy to run for. Maybe a little noisy in the room, but not in a way that really sticks out in my memory, especially considering the overall con is IMO pretty overwhelming in terms of its sheer size. The convention center is right near Reading Terminal Market, so lots of good food opportunities too if you're willing to deal with the crowd. I've offered to run games again Friday and Saturday (but will sadly be avoiding coming in at all Sunday because of the marathon). I'm hoping PAX returns to the usual early December schedule again next year.
It's good to see this come out, though I'm sad it's the last issue. As Garrett and Scott said, Wayfinder was very helpful early in my game design experience and I really enjoyed contributing to it. It was important to me to keep submitting (and later editing!) as a way of trying to give back a little to the community.
Hey all, please sign in for the game here. I'd like sign-ins to be done by Sept 1. Thanks!
Hey all, please sign in here to make this all official. I'd like sign-ins to be done by Sept. 1, please.
So, looks like I should have waited to answer a little bit longer. We got a note yesterday saying we should have players seated. Fortunately, we have four people interested, so we now have four players who are definitely in! If anyone else wants to join, I'll continue a lottery for the last two spots. *That* deadline will remain Sept. 1. In the meantime, I'll set up an RPG Chronicles sign-in sheet and post that link in the next few days (or possibly today as time permits).
Hi, welcome to signups for my author run of PFS 2-19 Enter The Pallid Peak for PbP Gameday XII, which will start Sept. 4. This game is first come, first served, and is for Levels 1-4. We’ll be playing on the Paizo forums, and I will be using Google Drawings for any combats. My expectations are 5-10 posts a week from everyone (i.e., averaging 1-2 a day, though I recognize weekends tend to be slower). Please sign up here. Please also let me know your familiarity with play-by-post, and Pathfinder Society / Pathfinder 2nd Edition in this recruitment thread (that will help me know what kind of introduction to the format folks need).
I'm not sure if I ever met Jack in person; if we did, it was very quickly during a PaizoCon. That said, we became friends during pandemic gaming. He showed me how to GM on Roll20, and I was fortunate to get to play with him many times (as players together, or one of us GM'ing for the other). He was incredibly kind, and a blast to play with. I'll miss him. May his memory be a blessing.

I've been gutted by this news since I first heard it. Jack has been nothing but friendly and helpful to me (and many others in the gaming community), helping me get involved with PFS before I was writing for it and teaching me how to GM on Roll20 (back when it was the primary VTT). Thank you, Hilary, for being among those who are helping Jack know how much everyone thinks of and cares for him.
If you're interested, there's also the Legendary Games version by Luigi Lizza. I think it was really impressive. (I did an early read on the product, so have a small credit in it. Luigi did all the writing and IMO knocked it out of the park as a conversion from the 1e version.)

While the mechanical parts won't translate over to 2e, the lore should be usable no problem. Yes, Pathfinder Campaign Setting: The First World, Realm of the Fey, I believe. That's probably the best source of information on the Eldest that I can think of. Pathfinder Player Companion: Legacy of the First World has some too, but IIRC, that's got more mechanics, which would all be 1e.
I think Freelance Forge is great for aspiring designers. You can join at this link. Congrats to all those who got in. I'm looking forward to reading the entries.
Hi Ben, I don't know that there is any specific place right now. I think most folks put out open calls on Twitter (I used to look at Paizo much more for open calls -- there was a sticky thread -- but that eventually stopped being used very often). (I think 10 cents per word is generally considered a very fair rate.)
Wayfinder does not prevent that, since you retain ownership (though it would probably be bad form to do it before Wayfinder comes out and I could see them deciding not to pick your item if you publish it before they've made those choices). I'm not sure enough about PF Infinite's policies at this point to say if there's an issue on its end. |
