Every Edition suffers the Rise and Fall syndrome...
It is hard to keep interest in a singular product line forever. Companies who refuse to change suffer. Maps are a weak point of their product line. Customers are wanting High Res versions of maps to use online. Online is where most of the action is these days, or Digital display is used at even the Table. But they are not providing them. People are wanting 1"=5' "official" maps and they are not providing them. Digital allows rapid Mini use without slowing down game to draw out a Map as you go Many GMs don't homebrew settings so This type of product line is hard to support in regards to Adventure Path users. Adventure Path GMs are only interested in a straight line from start to finish.

With this, I intend to incorporate both into our CoCT campaign in some fashion. I just make my own these days. Great way to have reoccuring maps without having to use the same maps for every single Inn/Tavern throughout the Realms :)

I hope not... Not a SCI-FI fan...I am sure there is still enough Fan Based stuff to have Separate Issues.
How many of us have wanted a good source of printing out 1"=5' Battle Maps. Usually don't endorse to Many Kick starters But I an constantly looking to find a cheap way to print out maps. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nordgames/tabletop-gaming-maps-print-o n-demand-starting-at-j Back at your own risk

It leads to tons of scaling problems when dropping them in VGT's. That is because Most Maps are Drawn and then a Grid is inserted. Some rooms are 12 foot wide instead or 10 or 15..Walls might be anywhere in regards to a grid line. Most are not drawn to a scale..They draw what looks good to them
I am not hear to tattle tale on people, but if Someone from the Company wanted to look, all you have to do is look at the Links in many of the posts going back years..I don't see them leading to a Page with any Disclaimer of any sort. Many simply lead to Cloud storage Quality Standards are subjective...
Would I be willing to learn how to do better Circular walls..possibly...but...why bother..I don't like them. I don't use them in my Maps as a general rule As for Stopping Making them..No you never said "stop" but....Well 95% of them I will never ever ever use..a Waste of my time. I would rather sit around making original generic Maps which I don't have to worry about making sure a disclaimer is Worded precisely right or making Maps for 3rd Party Publishers providing High RES Maps for their Customers and Getting paid. Charity only gets you so far in life. If I ever do need them...I can make then in little or no time. I won't have to worry about no disclaimer. I don't have to worry about storing them somewhere..And I can change what ever I want on them.
Took a look at Many of the other Fan provided Maps...cough cough...I must be blind because I don't see something. Instead I will just concentrate on my own Maps to sale and on Commissions from 3rd party publishers. Several have asked for sample Maps and are looking to provide both VTT Battle Maps and 600 DPI versions of Maps with their products. Seems that the response is always the Same when people ask for VTT Maps ....Cut and Paste from PDF and a blind eye gets turned. Even Told Paizo I have no problem letting them distribute the maps but naw....they don't wanna do that either.
taks wrote: I believe they exist within each PDF (can't check at the moment), just not as a separate package. Please clarify.. Are you saying that if you purchase the adventure path you get Interactive Maps?None of the Adventure Paths PDFS I have seen have included Interactive Maps. You just get the Standard Maps..None have been interactive.
You know if Paizo provided 1"=5' Scaled Maps in VTT (50/72 DPI) and DIY Printable (300/600 DPI) Grid and NonGrid Versions all this could be avoided.... :) :) :) :) :) and
I recreate the Maps as close as possible to the Original layout as possible. (Sorry I can't do Good Circular walls and I tend to remodel rooms to eliminate Diagonals, as those 1/2 Squares tend to be hard to use with minis). I use Art From Dundjinni and Campaign Cartographer Art packs. I use Campaign Cartographer 3/Campaign Cartographer 3+ I have never required anyone to make any payment nor a Donation in order to access any Recreated Paizo Map...Any and All Maps recreated are shared freely with anyone who wishes to use them. I also do not change any Quality for people who donate. If I make a 72 and a 300 or 600 DPI version everyone gets access to those files. I don't just give the higher resolution to the person who sent the Money. I will try and always make at least a 72 DPI grid and Non grid version of the maps to be used in VTT in PNG Format and a 300 or 600 Grid and Nongrid for people wanting to print out. I have Posted the Maps on several Sites ...Cartographer's Guild and on Deviantart and "No Payment or Donation" has ever been required in order to view or Download. Any and All Maps recreated based on the Paizo Maps are accessible to anyone free of charge. The Maps I produce as the Wayward Traveler are 100% my own Concept nor do I claim they are Pathfinder or Paizo products, but since I made a whole $21 last year on Sales I may just make them free from now on also. Every Where I post the files I do tell people that they are based on the Work of the Original Cartographers and credit them. And I do tell people what Paizo Product they are made for. Maps are recreated entirely on my spare time and I will try and recreate them in order of request. Maps I need come first as I need them
Cough...Cough
I love how people always say the costs are "prohibitive" No..it is a service they don't want to provide.
And I have offered to do them for Paizo Officially without charging them an Arm and a Leg...even for free. check out my work at http://jpstodwftexas.deviantart.com/

Then why people keep responding... Each Class has "Abilities" which make them important in the Game...My response stands if Clerics had no Divine Abilities they are merely Fighters...Only
9th Level Fighter
So Based on these "Core" class features Alone...

Would be nice if Someone came up with an All in one..Offline Application. I simply use my Projector and scale the Map to size in Windows Picture Viewer...since we use real minis no need for a program to do movement |
