Isabella is a bit tired upon arrival at Bitter Hollow, in spite of the magical protections making the journey survivable. Mostly she's worried about the state of her companions, who had to put up with the biting cold on the first day before they made proper preparations for overland travel. She is delighted to take a seat and have some stew.

As she pokes at the warm stew with a wooden spoon she asks, "What kind of ill-tempered swamp dwellers besides boggarts? Thunder lizards? Lizardfolk? Wisps?"

Yep. And while I could cast a second one to get us through eight hours of the day, that would then cancel the marching chant (duration: concentration), so I'd have to renew both of them. It would essentially eat up my 2nd level slots.

But if that's the best way to go overland, then that's what we should do.

I like doing support roles, so don't worry about giving me room to swing a blade. (We saw what happened last time I tried.) I have the Healing domain, so I should be doing a lot of healing!

Those are all great choices. Always keep an eye out for a spell that lets you do something that nobody else in the party can do!

Fortunately, the survival check is DC 15!

Fort save, cold weather gear, bonus from survival: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 + 2 = 15

Isabella shrugs off the cold weather due to the combination of good trail planning by Runt and Forest, an extra layer of clothes, and her own natural resistance.

When she realizes that the hike is going to take an extra day, she prepares for the following day appropriately, with a communal endure elements spell in addition to another marching chant.

As it becomes clear that the group is going to be moving overland for some distance, Isabella starts to intone a marching chant.

Basically we move at double speed until we stop.

Isabella has Cold Resistance 5, so she is unlikely to be affected by natural cold, but she doesn't currently have endure elements prepared.

Isabella nods and says, "Just cut the outside of my arm slightly. I'll heal it up after. I just want a small amount of my blood in a cup."

Once Kizzy cuts her, she squeezes the wound and winces slightly as she drips some blood into a small cup from a mess kit, and then she uses her healing kit to bandage the wound. She stirs the blood a bit and then pours it in a circle around the devil.

"You just stay put, now."

Isabella has the Angel Blood feat, which means her blood causes damage to fiends. This is mostly cosmetic, as she's not splashing it, but it's kind of like... she's insulting it.

Isabella places a hand on Kizzy's arm.

"As much as I would like to have a private conversation, the entity in question already said that it watched our fight with the ogres and trolls, so I doubt we will have much privacy here. In any case, Runt is correct that releasing this entity has a much higher cost than the value of what we might hope to gain."

Isabella removes one of her gloves and does her best to pull up her sleeve.

"Kizzy, if you wouldn't mind? Just a half a cupful of my blood should do."

When Kizzy inevitably gives her a quizzical look, she says, "Just use a dagger. Um, just make sure the blade is clean first."

Isabella may not be able to fight the troll, but she can certainly keep Forest on his feet. She moves into the space directly behind him to help steady him.
