Did you add the bonuses from the Touch of Good Isabella's put on you? Since you normally do 1d8+8 I'm thinking not.

Touch of good affects attack rolls but not damage.

Expecting that Forest is probably going to charge into combat, Isabella silently gifts him with a touch of good.

Touch of good domain power:
You can touch a creature as a standard action, granting a sacred bonus on attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws equal to half your cleric level (minimum 1) for 1 round. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Since Isabella is level 9, that's a +4 sacred bonus on all your business this round.

You have to check the items. At the bottom of most entries it says:

Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, cure light wounds, lesser restoration, creator must have 5 ranks in Heal; Cost 750 gp (Normal), 1,500 gp (Specialized)

This is the base price it is talking about. This one is for the Satchel.

I think I am good with the alchemical booster components. They get used when you cast correct?

Isabella can just work at the townhouse (recall you guys have control of Foxglove's townhouse) while Kizzy and Runt gather things around town. They take one extra day since it takes three days to find a buyer for the large items. 4 days down and then they head back with everyone's gear. Sound good?

Yeah, all of the item creation rules say you spend an amount equal to half the sale price to make it, but the rules explicitly state that for most items, "base price = market price." That's the price it sells for. I've never seen anything to indicate that crafting time is anything other than 1 day (8 hours) per 1,000 gp of the market value (= base value) of the item.

Your game your call! Just wanted to make sure I'm not cheating. :)

GM Ironperetti is correct about the times. It is based on the crafting cost, not the sale price. Runt will hold off on the cloak and just buy the crafting materials for now and have Isabella do it when we are reunited and have the time.

That's interesting because

PRD wrote:
For many items, the market price equals the base price.

and

PRD wrote:
Creating an item requires 8 hours of work per 1,000 gp in the item’s base price (or fraction thereof), with a minimum of at least 8 hours.

Together these would indicate that the time to craft an item is 8 hours per 1,000 gp of its market price, since the market price and the base price are the same and the crafting time is based on the base price.

So I would love a link to an errata or update where this was changed.

Let's start looking at time. 8 hours of work can be performed per day:

Specialized Satchel: DC 8 Spellcraft, 12 hours of work, 1500gp
Cloak of resistance +2: DC 10, 16 hours of work, 2000gp
Sash of the war champion: DC 14, 16 hours of work, 2000gp

Isabella has 9 ranks in spellcraft, 1 Int, 3 class bonus for a total of 13. Her character sheet shows 16, where do the other 3 come from? Or is that a typo?

That's five and a half days. Isabella can cut that down to 3 days by increasing the DC of each item by 5. This would mean the satchel is automatic to go to 6 hours. If the skill total of 16 is correct then then cloak of resistance is automatic bringing it to 8 hours. the Sash becomes DC 19 which gets dicey if you are at 13, 16 total is better.

Just a typo, probably due to frequent case of "cat on keyboard."

Note that for time:

PRD wrote:
Crafting a wondrous item takes 1 day for each 1,000 gp in its price.

This means the satchel takes 24 hours (3 days), the cloak takes 24 hours (3 days) (assuming it's an upgrade from +1), and the sash takes 32 hours (4 days).

The satchel is low priority, Isabella will do it later if there are other requests. If we spend a week in Turtleback Ferry recuperating and helping the town to rebuild, she can do the cloak and sash.

Ok, Isabella is gonna take three days to make a specialized healer's satchel.

Someone asked for... a cloak of protection I think? Happy to do that but I can't find the request. We need to track how much time various enchantments will take.

Updated the treasure tracker with my expenditures for the satchel and my new armor.

Isabella—still weak from the confrontation—uses Kizzy's help to track down a variety of special components, including a well-made leather satchel, holy water, sacred incense, and silver dust, all of which she plans to use in some enchanting. (1,500 gp of materials to construct a specialized healer's satchel).

Since Magnimar is a metropolis, she is also able to finally scare up some better armor! A mithral breastplate (4,200 gp).

Isabella will certainly do as much healing as she can before the trip.

Also remember that if we are gonna take a few days to do shopping and recuperate, Isabella can craft magic items. May be worth improving someone's weapons, armor, or miscellaneous gear on the cheap.

As I noted before, Isabella at least is way beneath the recommended WBL. We seem to have missed a large chunk of expected treasure.

Isabella says, "I want to help but I am obviously not equal to the task. Once I have recuperated perhaps we can see what kind of rebuilding we can help to do in the town here after the flooding subsides."

Trying to reconcile my gear with the loot list. The treasure sheet says I should have ~9.6k of gear and money, but I have about ~4.2k on my character sheet. Not sure what's missing, but I could sure use the difference in enchanting stuff.

Isabella wakes up some time later feeling awful.

"Uhhh... hello, Forest. I feel really bad." She twists her neck uncomfortably and squirms slightly under the covers. "Also a bit powerless. I brought everything to bear to defend the town and was swatted out of the air uselessly like a gnat. I think I'm not cut out for this adventuring life. I might go back to Magnimar and join a cloister, spend my time in prayer and contemplation. More likely to have a positive impact on the community that way."

Yes, not having diamond dust has been the major barrier to getting rid of negative levels. I really don't want to spend the rest of the adventure with half of the party down two levels from the expected level, that's a recipe for yet another death spiral.

No, Isa has a total wealth of 4,392, and she should be at 46,000. Her equipment is way, way, way below what it should be at this level, which is a direct contributor to her inability to hang in there. Spending good money after bad to raise her and then pay to remove her negative levels is a bad decision because she will just wind up in a death spiral: unable to face challenges because her gear is so bad, then dying again, having to spend all the money on raising dead, thus unable to afford any upgrades, endlessly.

The correct strategy is to strip her for all of her valuables, then bring in a new healer with appropriate WBL/gear.

I haven't looked at the gear on the rest of the party, but if this is indicative of a more widespread problem of not getting the correct amounts of loot, then that should be addressed before moving on to the next book in the AP.

Isa is killed outright because:

1. The negative levels (2) reduce her max & current hit points by 10, putting her at -17.
2. To add insult to injury, since she has communal water walk she takes falling damage when she is knocked out of the air and hits the water.

We did learn something interesting though: This is apparently a native local outsider, as if it were summoned, the magic circle against evil would prevent it from making physical contact until Isabella attacked it, which she hadn't yet. (It could penetrate the magic circle with SR, but it didn't make a roll. I suppose it could be immune to protection from evil.) So, nobody summoned it, which at least is a good thing.

Anyway, looking up some hyper-optimization guides for healbots now. I thought I could play a concept character, my bad.

Since the group gets a good night's sleep before leaving Fort Rannick and they know that they'll be hustling to Turtleback Ferry the next day, Isabella strikes up a jaunty but staccato tune on the way. Something about the tune keeps feet up and spirits high during the lengthy slog through the mud.

Casting marching chant, which allows us to hustle without accumulating additional fatigue, which in turn should get us to Turtleback Ferry by nightfall without force marching.

By the time the group reaches the Turtle's Parlor, Isabella is well and truly done with keeping on the magical tune. Though the spell bolsters her to keep singing as long as she focuses on it, eight hours of walking concentration still isn't easy.

She gratefully accepts a mug of a local warm beverage to soothe her throat and nurses that for a while before she, too, decides that she'd best have a bath and a chance to clean her garments.

She heads for the baths just as Kizzy is getting out. Stifling a yawn, she says, "Kizzy, I'm a little worried about all this rain. It's going to come down the mountain and straight through the valley here. You or anyone know how to pilot a boat, just in case?"

I'm very confused because there are other folks at level 8 as well. Cannot keep track.

"I will do the right thing before the convenient thing."

Isabella glances around the ruins of the fort.

"But whatever repairs we make here, the fort will not stand unless new rangers are posted, a new garrison recruited. That is likely the captain's task."

I'll go wherever I need to go, just let's make up our minds and move forward. :D

I dunno how we "recruit" new rangers, that may be Vale's job now. It's not like we can just roll into a town and say "Hey! You! You wanna go live in a fort in the remote wilds, that was until recently occupied by an ogre family? There's no pay and you have to rebuild it yourself, plus you're the first line of defense for the communities in the valley."

If we can make it to the city, get the diamond dust, and come back, I can cast make whole upon return to repair an object up to 80 cu. ft., which might or might not do a gate panel, depending upon how thick it is.

"This rain is unseasonal, too. It should be snowing. I'm worried about this flooding the lowlands."
