I still don't see how running CORE is any different than running regular mode, since they aren't changing the scenarios. I'll run it, but I don't see why I'd ever play it. I looking forward to the TPKs in season 4+, personally. I'm not giving people a "CORE break" on enemy tactics. All hail the King of Storval Stairs.
Glorious, I look forward to the challenge. I have only had one PC die in 3 years.
Before I start this discussion I would like to say that I am with Mike Brock, I am against replay in most situations.
However, I think this could be an excellent compromise. Since season zero is getting a makeover, they will be fully updated and refurbished, using new feats and tactics then what they were originally given, better CRs, access to fancier spells and combat abilities. So with the coming of season 7 they will release 2 updated scenarios of season 0 and 2 new season 7 scenarios. Season 0 scenarios will be repayable once if you have already played it before season 7 came out. This would continue with season 8 and season 1 would be repayable once. Monsters and combats and traps would be the only thing needed to be updated.
This would allow organizers to draw in oldtimers who have played through everything but also add excitement because the combats are different. It would also encourage new and old players too see where we have been.

Oh I have been there, I had an existential crisis when I played EoTT Part 1.
After we had saved the Red Raven, he asked where his wife and friends where, which we totally murder (I was a Paladin), because they were the bad guys, I had a mental break down and realized I was a horrible person. I knew I was getting an atonement after that.. but just the utter shock that we had been bamboozled....ugh, I will never forget it and it always makes me a little sick thinking about it.
Here is my Mr. Plugg, though it doesn't use ACG, it is far superior to the one in the book.
+1 to Trollbill. Walter is correct that the winds of change are moving towards more good aligned missions or meta narratives. PFS should incentives playing good, or at least some loyalty to the society. So far as shown in season 4, not so much.
Season 4 Spoilers abound:
I personally thought that at the end of season 4 if you had all those boons your soul should of been sucked out at the end and your character should of been retired from play because of their treachery against the society. Multiple people WILLFULLY compromised the entire society for their own personal gain. What negative effects do they have? Oh in the finale fight he can spend his precious action economy to make a minor negative effect. Please, the second you fight Krune all your bonuses should of just turned into auto penalties.
Flite. I am not going to tell you how to run your area, I am saying that your area will be healthier in the long run if you can establish a community that has actually invested capital in it. As someone who has GMed in an area where they do not do this, they are consistently scrambling for GMs and you have a large part that are purely consumers. You will burn out your GMs if they are not getting more then the players. There is a reason why at conventions like Paizo Con or Gen Con, they Shower Gms with gifts.
I think you might have skipped over a post earlier where I explained that the GM would buy the scenario, and the store would reimburse them. Gming doesn't just start in a vacuum, but if you want to play PFS you have to have a GM and thus someone is going to have to suck up the bill to buy all that stuff. Usually that is the person who is already committed and is setting up the event.
Send me your address and I will send you 15-20 minis to help start your Lending Library if you buy 2 plain Flipmats for poor judges to use.
Yes, players need books if they want to use things in them, you can make a pretty good character out of CRB, you don't have to buy every book and if you can spend 10 dollars on a book for an awesome feat, you can spend 8 dollars to use that feat for 16 to 20 hours.
Flite, you do what you think is best.
It also means that if some of our players can afford it, and some can't, we don't shut people out.
Oh no. This person who can't "afford" it can GM twice a month and then spend the credit he has to play twice a month and still have a 6 dollar bonus in credit, and 2 scenarios for free. Seriously if a person plays 4 times a month (once a week), then he is spending 8 dollars for 16-20 hours of game play. The person who can't afford this are straight up lying. If some one told me 8 dollars would break them a month I would be hard pressed to believe them.
If you don't do this, your GMs carry a huge load versus playing. They have to do the following
I seriously wish I lived where Dragon's store is. I don't understand why more stores don't do this. Two dollars is seriously nothing. When I move to Michigan, I will hunt down a store that has this policy, and if not I will find a game shop that will do this and install it.
Use 4 dollars to reimburse the scenario and then give 5 dollars of store Credit to the GM.
And the negatives are?
Ok so I have been working through this since I am going to be hosting a party of six. I have the Wormwood Mutiny done.
So here it is
We are pathfinders not a country with established laws. They have gone through a process and are deemed guilty of committing crimes that are evil. Context is king.
Agree with Jiggy and that the actions does not depend on the perpetrator, I also agree that the GM should have warned him about it but I think we have to look at the spell in general.
It kills a helpless opponent (which is wrong towards most mortal beings but Evil outsiders are different, they are irredeemable) and gives you a bonus for sucking the life out of them. That is pretty evil, to say the least. Good is about being Altruistic in Pathfinder, that is not altruistic in anyway shape or form. It is actually extremely selfish and thus not a gray area but in fact an evil act. Casting a spell that has
You cannot compare this spell to infernal healing.
I think it should be removed, along with animate dead.

Better start Gming to take advantage of the boon.

Hey could you do this on xcel or google doc for all the tiers and upload it to the shared drive. Many GMs, myself included, will praise you for this.
