"Um, Venture-Captain? Have I earned your signature in my book yet? Please?" Ifran says, holding his autograph book out.

DayJob is either a profession, craft, or perform check, unless you have a boon to make it something else.

"For heaven's sake! " yells out Ifran, realizing his climb down the stairs was for naught. Instead of trying to trying to run back up I to the fray, he will cast stabilize on the nearest fallen aspis agent. "What? They should stand for their crimes, not just get an easy trip to the Boneyard!"

"Damn... this... leg!!!" Ifran hobbles his way down the stairs.

When Ifran hears the agents banging around, he casts divine favor. He chuckles when Moe tries to get him to run away. "My teachers always told me I didn't have enough sense to run when I should. I guess they were right. Maybe it was just because I don't run very fast that I never thought it was a good idea."

And then, just to turn the trick around on her, Ifran casts murderous command on her. DC15 Will or she attacks Eenie next round

"Hey... why don't we put that cage in front of a door, or something. Or both cages? Anchor them from behind with a crate, and maybe set them up to lock or something? We could catch us an Aspis agent that way?"

"Yeah, no need for you chaps to fight. We'll take care of it for you, and then you can just say that you had nothing to do with whatever happened here. You checked the warehouse, and found nothing wrong. When you came back in the morning, well... who knows what could have happened.

"In any case, we don't want to endanger you all, so, please go hang out in a tavern and be safe."

That makes me think... what with the electronic parking brake on my Subaru, am I at risk for that? I hope not. I have had parking brakes freeze up before (which is why I don't engage them below 10 degrees or so), but never while driving. Wowsers.

Sounds good. Not all that good at bluffing (yet), but telling the truth is pretty easy for Ifran.

As for light, Ifran has low-light vision, so if there is starlight coming through the skylights, that's probably good enough for him. Failing that, he's pretty much in the dark (no wayfinder yet).

"Bugdip... first, it looks like we need to feed the dog." He pulls out some of his rations, and tosses them into the bowl. "But, maybe, if he isn't going to be a nice puppy, we just put him down in the lower level. If the door is closed, he should have to stay down there. Only problem is that if the Kortos people come, he might attack them. Not a problem if the Aspis people come, though.

"Let's just put crates in front of every door."

"Glarifur. They are just crates, right? Why don't we shove them in front of the doors or something. That way, they cannot get in. Can anyone lock the doors? If only I had bought a skeleton key. I had heard at the grand lodge that those were good for opening things."

Ifran will keep trying to touch the dog, until he is injured, at which time he will use the charge on himself.

Ifran moves up to the dog. "Nice doggie. Pretty doggie." He cast cure light wounds (not from wand) and tries to touch the dog.

"Ma'am... how are we to identify the difference between the Aspis and Kortos agents? I mean, I realize that most Aspis agents are evil looking, spouting devilish horns and the like. But what if they don't?"

"Yes, let us go meet Miss Delroya. I am sure she'll be very happy to get to know us, and maybe we can convince her to come back to Absalom with us, so she can meet Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin again. Maybe she can get him to give me his autograph?"

'She'll probably want to cuddle or whatever that was that the Paracountess and I did. Maybe not that, she was a little... aggressive. But she'll definitely probably want to be comforted'

Ifran does his best to make himself presentable. 'Really should stop off and get some cologne... and not that sulfurous stuff that Ms. Dralneen likes.'

"Fellas, we should really help these poor souls out. Let's bring them to a temple, somewhere they can get some help. Is there a temple of Saranrae here in Diobel?" He starts trying to help the addicts to their feet, in preparation for getting them the help they will need.

Ifran just moves forward as fast as he can, to stand behind Amin. He still has a worried look on his face, and has drawn out a wand, presumably of cure light wounds.

Not close enough to do anything and too slow to get there, Ifran hobbles up. He could make the square of the 'patient', but I didn't enter it just to be safe

"Guys, I am coming! I can heal you of your pain!"

"Wait, what? Weren't we just talking? Oh bother. I guess that means we're really fighting. Ok, if that is how it is gonna be." He looks truly concerned. "Fellas, could we not kill all the patients?"

Ifran looks puzzled, and en just blurts it out. The guy wasn't going anywhere. Anyways,

"Bugdip, I can't lie to them can I? What should I try and say, the captain sent us to retrieve you don't need to know what from his cabin? Yes, maybe that will work."

Ifran moves up to where Edgar has been fast talking.

"Agreed, friends. We should take this argument down a few notches... people are looking. We are all businessmen here, so I am sure that we can find a way to make amends. After all, if Abadar, Apsu, Asmodeus, Calistria, Dahak, Desna, Dou-Bral, Erastil, Gozreh, Pharasma, Sarenrae, and Torag could work together to throw the Rough Beast into his prison, then our petty differences should be able to be worked out, right?" When listing the gods, his voice is very methodical, as if he were reading out of a book.

"So, friends, what are the exact details of our problems here, that we might be able to sort them out Perhaps it is just an accounting balance that we need to address, or perhaps a settling of outstanding debts. Please, let this humble servant help you to balance your differences!"

Sorry, but I should state... Ifran has a -6 stealth and acrobatics, but is excellent in diplomacy. Sorry I haven't kept up 100% - on vacation, and am not online as much as I would be at work.

"Glarifyur, I would much prefer talking my way in, too. As you may have noticed, I am not blessed with agility." As if to punctuate his statement, Ifran manages to trip on an uneven board. "See what I mean?

"However, I am blessed with a tongue that is as nimble as my limbs are not." He sees an odd look on Bugdip's face. "No, I don't mean it that way... or that way. No I did not learn something new from the Paracountess, either... " He sighs... and blushes.

"No, I have been told that I have a way with words. That people naturally believe what I say. I am not a very good lier, however."

He shrugs, and says, "So, maybe the stealthy way is the right way. I can try and work with you. Can't afford a potion or scroll of invisibility, but I can take off my armor, which will help. Maybe pick up some leather armor, just in case. Probably better when on a boat, anyway."

As the team heads out to find their target, Ifran asks around for directions.

"Boats are pretty." ponders Ifran.

It isn't that he's aloof... it is that he's not all the bright. His INT score is more about how he eventually puzzles things out... not how quick witted he is. No offense taken!

"Oh.. that's right. I forgot, Venture-Captain. I am sorry." The other Pathfinders can see a tear or two in his eye, "I will try and do better next time, sir. Take better notes. Diobel we shall go, but since we'll be in a ship, should we stay near the docks? "

Ifran starts taking notes in his very deliberate handwriting.. 'Sail to Diobel. Break up alliance between Aspis and Kortos Consortiums. Don't screw up.'

FYI - #1 and #3 are the ones we did when I played it the first time. We can still do those two, but I was hoping to see what #2 is. No big, though.

Ifran thinks for a moment, and then just wanders away. He starts talking to the dockhands about which ships are where.

As the suli sees a dwarf moving towards the group, obviously looking for the name of a ship (or at least that is what Ifran assumes by the deliberate looking at the names), he walks towards him, extends his hand, and says, "Good day, sir! I am Ifran al-Sharifi, Pathfinder. Are you looking for us? I hope so, and I am sure that we'll be fast friends before long. What wonderful Pathfinders, aside from myself, and Bugdip here, have you met? Have you seen my autograph book? I even have the Paracountess Zarta Dralneen in here, though I don't know why she required that she signed it in my blood? That seemed a little odd..."

It was not long after his...meeting... with the Paracountess Zarta Dralneen that Ifran received the letter. Luckily, she had made sure he bathed before he left, though that might have been to make sure the scratches she had left would heal properly. 'An enthusiastic woman she is... Even though we never actually discussed the Dark Archives. Odd, that. At least she requested I see her again... Maybe we'll talk more about then. She did instruct me on the proper use of that silver handled riding crop. That was interesting. I would have thought it more useful in riding horses. She is very nice, though. I liked that drink she gave me.. But what did she call it? For some reason I cannot remember, though I am sure it will come to me later. I hope this mission isn't long, I could use a little more sleep.'

"Oh, hello, friends! I hope the day sees you well?"

I just have to finish up getting Ifran's purchases done... shouldn't take too long, though. Shouldn't take too long... and he'll be getting a happy stick, for sure.

@GM_PapaSteve I am pretty sure I can make that happen. Worst case is that I'll throw a GM credit his way.

Wait, did I see Damien talking about making it up to Minnesota for Con of the North? Now, you've got me hoping!

If so, I'll let you know, Damien, that we've still got plenty of GM slots available (including the special, since you've already played that). I also currently have room in the block of rooms I have reserved. Just let me know ASAP if you'll want to be in on it.

On for the games...

I am fine playing The Confirmation... it can always be fun. But I am willing to sit this one out so that we're not overloading the table. I cannot play The Confirmation or The Consortium Compact at level 2.

By the way, I've updated Bugdip's tagline. His will save should have been +4. I'd forgotten to include his boon from The Sky Key Solution -> Champion of Time / Defender of Time, free indomitable faith (or other) trait for a new character. I'd given it to Bugdip, but forgot to pop it into Hero Lab.

Jack (or others), just out of curiosity, how do I do the bookkeeping for that? Lort has to have the chronicle on him because it is his chronicle. Can I just take a photocopy of it to carry around with Bugdip? What do I need to write on Lort's chronicle sheet (or one of Bugdip's)? Do I need GM sign-off?

What many people do is either photocopy the chronicle and/or reference it (and make sure they bring the character with them when they play).

I'll have to check to see what boons I can put on Ifran. So sad that I cannot play with you guys next time.

"The Paracountess was very nice." muses Ifran. "She was not unsavory! We are meeting again later to discuss the Dark Archives. I like her." Ifran has a far-away look on his face, one that is now familiar to the group.

"The old lady at the orphanage was not nice. She takes advantage of her kids, though she does slowly heal them. I liked the challenge of the puzzles. I didn't understand them, though. The acid didn't hurt at all..."

Not paying attention to the risk (proving AOO from both), Ifran moves up, calling upon his elemental heritage to add flames to his morningstar. "You are not a very nice person. I don't think I like you." he says very matter-of-factly to the woman. "I think you are lying about sharing a night with Larkin, too."

He attacks with the morningstar.

Ifran sees Tybain on the ground, so smiles and casts Stabilize. He does not do the same for the halfling!

"Wait... what? Why is everybody yelling?"

"She seems to mean well, though. I mean, she does help the children, though I am unsure of what she is doing to send them out to do work. The children get healed... perhaps not as fast as the expensive medicines would heal them, but they are helped. She did smell of whiskey a little, though. She like playing cards as well." Ifran looks confused, and unsure of whether what he said made sense, or would help.

"What do you mean, she can be a meanie? Just between us friends, that is. I won't let anyone hurt you."
