Idgethun makes a poor attempt to cover a snort of laughter into a cough, and her mirth at Kevin's clueless comment is as plain as day. Chuckling, she slings the bound Tseka over her shoulder and leads the way westward.

Idgethun carefully notes down each of the locations of the map markers in her journal before removing the maps from the wall and stuffing them into her pack. She tosses a coil of rope onto the floor next to Tseka. "Anybody mind tying them up? Let us be sure there is nothing else of value here."

If possible, Idgethun shoves all of the detritus out of the way of the door, allowing the group to avoid the pit to head west along the unexplored passageways.

Idgethun chuckles. "No! It is not. We are happy to share what we find -- it is what we do -- though I do worry that on this particular occasion what we find may not be altogether, ah, wholesome." Her smile takes on a sad slant. "But! We will not know until we do, no? Shall we?"

She motions the pipefox forward, eager to get moving.

Idgethun puts out a hand to halt Kevin. "Just a minute. Pay you for what service? You cannot lead us to where we are taking these goods." She glances around the establishment. "Perhaps someone else here can."

Perhaps it is the unnerving visage of a wayang, perhaps it is the depth to which the party has descended, perhaps it is nothing... but Idgethun drifts toward caution.

If I do not get a sense that the question is a trap, Idgethun replies:

"We hear that a certain Consortium may be hiring in the Deepmarket."

Sorry, very busy day.

Idgethun flashes a smile that glints in the gloom. "Might even be able to make it worth your while."

The Undermarket is quite this sight -- but Idgethun has seen many sights. She knows that most places like this have some sort of guides' guild, and she makes efforts to find such an establishment.

Ignoring the chitterings of Bodo and Kevin, Idgethun greets the shopkeeper politely. "Good day, good sir. We have traveled far in search of... let us say, particular wares." She makes a perfunctory glance around the shop. "Though I do not see anything we seek on your shelves. However, if you could kindly point us to where such unusual commerce is conducted, we might be willing to part with a curio of our own."

I literally lol'd at this.

rats, guess Bodo will get the hat of disguise too.

I think there is a scroll of disguise self still available. No dice for the croc though.

"The Society must generally 'pick' from among its own," Idgethun replies to Gavin, slightly muffled. "And the Society is rarely attractive to the ordinary sort."

Standing, she claps her hands. "If you all have finished with your dilly-dallying? There is a ship leaving in two days that I would very much like to be on."

Are we ready? I can lead us to the entrance.

Ha! Nah, I have had this character concept for a while. I even have a GM baby named "Caravan Guard," which will now grow up to be someone else someday.

Idgethun sorts through the kit and selects a set of Tien shawls, which she uses to cover up the more obvious Kelish and Garundi motifs on her clothing. Total bonus +9.

Ooh! I have a great idea. If you just... hang on, kettle is boiling. Brb.

Idgethun reties her heavy scarf over her face, this time covering her tattoo entirely. She gazes thoughtfully at the disguise kit.

I would like to make a case to the GM to use Profession (merchant) as an alternative check. Idgethun's background is that of a caravan guard who has eventually worked her way to caravan leader, and has bought and sold all manner of goods all over Golarion. The Undermarket is also a place where goods are bought and sold; perhaps she could even use the Disguise kit to modify her appearance to more 'Tien/black market' oriented accouterments. Thoughts?

Idgethun smiles wider and sips again. "My other nickname is also well-earned." Thiefbane. "Has any intelligence reached your ears regarding the Aspis hideout and operations? Their strength? Their defenses?"

The tanned stranger removes the scarf at the offer of tea, revealing a fair, if hard-faced, woman with burnished copper-brown hair. An intricate tattoo of a golden key adorns her cheek. "I am not called Idgethun of the Highways for nothing," she nods, "and my travels have even taken me to this fine far city of Goka. I know of this place, the Undermarket." Her accent is slight but noticeable, a mix of Kelish and Osiriani and something else. "Some of my clients have used an entrance that is not far from here."

She sips lightly from the cup. "I have even heard," and here she smiles, "that the Aspis have been busy recruiting."

She waves off the offer of a disguise. Her reputation as a professional caravan leader, merchant, and protector make her a natural fit for this mission. Though some followers of Abadar might frown on using contraband, Idgethun takes a more practical view that commerce is commerce, and there are many crimes more heinous than mere smuggling.

Stepping through the door is a figure outfitted in well-broken traveling clothes, worn neatly in the Kelish style, that hint at a sturdy frame underneath--or perhaps only heavily armored. A thick scarf obscures much of the visitor's face, revealing only attentive, golden irises set in a heavily tanned visage and a hint of a tattoo on one cheek.

After surveying the room's contents, the stranger produces an intricate silver timepiece from a hidden pocket and checks the hour. Satisfied, the figure returns the instrument and stands patiently to wait.
