He jerks a thumb back over his shoulder to indicate the cell.

He steps aside to let the bruiser of a half-orc through the door ahead of him.

It looks like things have quieted down, but how can you tell with those things? They were damned near invisible.

Utilizing scraps of material scavenged from the corners of their cell, Ibarra is fiddling with the lock. He glances over his shoulder at the half-orc.

"You try opening this damned lock with these." He shakes the bits and bobs he has in his hands. With a growl of frustration Ibarra returns to working at the lock, silently cursing his decision to venture out here alone.

I never got a response about whether or not I was able to use a rope and grappling hook to pull Derlan back, so Mort wouldn't need to run in there and expose himself to what we now know is brown mold.

Unless something seems particularly suspicious or dangerous I don't tend to take 20, instead I'll 'take 2' (twice as long instead of 20 times as long) which is a take 10 followed by a roll. I also don't generally assume that searching an area for treasure will require a Perception check so I have a habit of just saying 'I search for treasure' instead of rolling a Perception check because most of the time an encounter area just says 'the PCs find X', instead of saying 'PCs who succeed at a DC Y Perception check find X' and I'm not a fan of rolling dice when I don't need to. Of course, I have no idea if the situation requires a roll or not, so I'll need to get in the habit of doing one. :)

You're proficient in hand crossbow? Bards don't get that as a standard weapon proficiency, and I don't see it as one of your feats. BTW I imagine that it is medium sized, so it would probably be difficult for you to wield. If you really want it that's fine, I don't care if I get it or not.

A trick to speeding up combat in PbP is for the GM to do initiative rolls for all parties, then post the results and let PCs act in chunks between the monsters.
