John hustles east toward Augrym looking for a line of attack down the street. As he moves, tongues of flame surround him and start to lick at the mighty bow in his hand. In a flash, the flames snake around the gleaming curved wood and trace down the bowstring until it is a single line of bright flame.

John and his sons take the time away from the path to volunteer their services to the community, focusing on the needy, the forgotten, or the marginalized. They do so without fanfare, and take no credit for their actions.

Wisps of black smoke snake around the bow and in the blink of an eye have completely gilded it with a twisting aura of power. The smoke caresses John's hand almost lovingly, and guides him to a realization that his departed bride - always with him in his heart - is now quite literally with him in spirit.
John is amazed and thankful... But his attention only wavers for a moment and he steels himself to release his arrow!

While on the road (or if the trip won't work out, while at home) John tells them about the strange visitation the gods apparently sanctioned. John retells how their mother spoke to him and offered her support to him... and he is candid about jow he isn't quite sure what exactly that means.
All four Fletchers agree, the sign is a boon and they offer prayers of thanks for it.
John has the presence of mind to ask Taranis if jumping into the water to wash the stuff off is a good idea. If Taranjs says no, John will stay on shore. Otherwise it is bath time.
