How bizarre. I know I am getting old when I totally forgot I made a character for the original Agartha game, but I bailed.

Ah, Hu, victim of my depression when I was laid off

I AM THE LEFT-HANDED HUMMINGBIRD OF WAR!

buzz buzz buzz

Oh a left-handed hummingbird am I

I'll cut out your heart and cook it in a pie ....

Well, they don't call me the Left-Handed Hummingbird for nothing Leafy!

Hey guys, gonna have to bail. I just need a while to think up a better character. I'm not digging this one. I'll keep you posted.

Don't mind me, I'm not feeling all that good today. Sorry if I came across as whiny ...

*sigh*

I can see my original idea of a serious-seeming arcanist isn't going to fly...

Maybe I should roll another guy up ..

Hu is fine. I realized that his name is kinda unweildly the other day trying to write 'flavor' for him...

After scanning the local fires, Hu settles into a corner and enters the trance state the arcanists use to regain their power.

hardehardehar :P

The arcanist's perception shifts and he is suddenly looking through the campfire of a traveller several miles down the road. He then shifts to a peasant's hearth, a witch's cauldon fire, a blacksmith's forge ..

Any chance he's going to see anything good? Or should I build that part myself?

I will attempt to sense what is ahead..

Attunes his mind to any sources of fire nearby attempting to see who is about

Eeek! Gotta catch up!!!

The tall red-robed arcanist has followed the others, observing quietly

Or perhaps he thought I would go to one of the villages in the jungle that were much closer to the Temple." She shrugged.

The mysterious man's pointed ears perk up at this

"If you don't mind me asking, Lady ...?"

Assuming introductions are made

"Lady Aananda, what temple are you from? I come from the Great Temple of the Elements in Chac Mool, within the Southern Jungle of Klesh."

The dwarf's eyes sparkle as he takes in the newcomer.

"Certainly! Feasting is a fine way to meet new people."

"I'm Kannic, of the Three Stones Clan."

"Sit. Sit."

The dwarf signals the waitress to bring more food.

The slender man nods

"Thank you. Three Stones Clan? That is an interesting name. Where does your clan come from?

Huitzilopochtli pauses at the tavern's entrance. He has traveled far, collecting information, and he can see that many things have changed in Agartha since the last time the Mystics of Chac Mool have sent forth a scout. He spies a likely group of strangers eating at a table and approaches.

The folks at the table see a tall thin man with slightly pointed ears and elaborate facial tattoos walk in. He wears crimson robes and carries a gnarled staff with a large reddish crystal embedded at its peak. He is carrying a backpack and has the look of someone who has been on the road a while.

"Excuse me, do you have room at your table for a weary traveler?"

The thick jungle hid the ancient city of Chac Mool. The pale stones had been quarried by hands other than human, long long ago in the days of the Elder Races. The Children of the Quetzal had discovered the ruined city when they fled the bloody Aztecs centuries ago. They had been changed over time in this subterranian realm, growing thinner, paler and more fey as time went on.

The Children of the Quetzal were now known as fearsome spellcasters, harnessing the strange energies available in Argartha. Reclusive, they have spent centuries in contemplation, but with the many new forces coming to the realm, the elders have sent an Elemental Mage of the Second Rank out into Agartha to explore and report.

Huitzilopochtli is his name, after the war god that the Quetzal once revered before the Aztecs stole him for their own bloody purposes. He has mastered the element of Fire, for which he wears a crimson robe. His face is tattooed in arcane symbols which grant him sight beyond sight and ward him from danger. He strides alone, but for his staff of Firecalling, secure in his arcane power.
