Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

"The dog has a point, Ellie."

No move, as he attacks using his Lunge feat.
Attack 1: 10+22+5(bard)+1(Haste)+2(Good hope)-3(Power Attack)=AC 37, damage 1d10+19+9(PA)+5(bard)+2(good hope)=44.
Attack 2: 12+17+5+1+2-3=AC 34, damage 1d10+19+9+5+2=42.
Attack 3: 13+12+5+1+2-3=AC 30, damage 1d10+19+9+5+2=40.
Attack 4 (bonus from Haste):11+22+5+1+2-3=AC 38, damage 1d10+19+9+5+2=41.

Illes.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Sure, but Janosz can't cast high-level wizard spells. He would be pretty scary when paired up with a bard, though.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Double move to K-L 31-32. Also - holy crap. I'm particularly impressed by Elisile's archery prowess, but that was all-around awesome.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Move to M40, drink Potion of enlarge person.

Lokansir!

As Camlo is currently incapacitated, would it make sense for Nevynxxx to run Hudak or Demiarchos for this fight if all parties are ok with that?

That would be fine with me.

Hudak ploughs into Mokmurian, swooping down from the ceiling. He pushes the giant back, but Mokmurian doesn't fall. Instead, he hangs suspended by a spell of flight.

Although he is pushed 10', which puts him at 40' high and in the edge of the zone of Silence. Does Hudak move with him or stay at the point of impact?

Bah. Not what I was hoping for. If he can (and I would argue that he should, if only just because of momentum and weird spell-physics), Hudak moves along with the giant.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

CORRECTION: Hudak has the Improved Bull Rush feat, so he gets a +2 bonus to the above result. Thus, his final CMB check result is 39.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

After a lot of pondering, I've ended up with this multi-PC sequence. Here we go.

"Surprise, ugly!" With a bellow, Hudak descends on the wall-climbing wizard like the world's biggest, angriest lawn dart.

I'm bull rushing Mokmurian, with the objective being knocking him off the wall and down to the floor he just left. Then Demiarchos can finish his prone ass off (hopefully). So: Bull Rush CMB check: 1d20 + 19 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 19 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 5 = 37 versus Mokmurian's CMD. Bonuses are Size, Haste, Good Hope and bardic music.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Aubrey - if I bull rush Mokmurian, will I knock him off the wall?

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Updated initiative
Mokmurian 22
Elisile 18
Alwyn 15
Demiarchos 15-
Hudak 14
Sefayll 12-
Camlo delaying
Illes 7

Sefayll!

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

In that case, Hudak glugs a potion of CMW and then gets out his sword.

HP recovered: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (5, 1) + 3 = 9

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Being hasted, can Hudak drink multiple potions in the same round?

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Demiarchos is 8' tall at the shoulder, and Mokmurian is an additional 10' tall. How tall is that wall if the big dog can't see at least some of Mokmurian?

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Hudak is on 15 hit points. He might as well do something useful from where he's at, so:

Shaking his head in disbelief at his current position, Hudak pulls out his massive longbow. "Nowhere is safe from mighty Hudak, fool!"

So, Hudak pulls out his ridiculous ogre bow (STR 24!) and lets fly.
Attack 1:12+14+2(good hope)+4(bard)+1(haste)+1(firing at lower target)=AC 34, damage 4d4+8+2(good hope)+4(bard)=25
Attack 2:10+9+2(good hope)+4(bard)+1(haste)+1(firing at lower target)=AC 27, damage 4d4+8+2(good hope)+4(bard)=24
Attack 3:14+4+2(good hope)+4(bard)+1(haste)+1(firing at lower target)=AC 26, damage 4d4+8+2(good hope)+4(bard)=26
Attack 4 (bonus from haste):9+14+2(good hope)+4(bard)+1(haste)+1(firing at lower target)=AC 31, damage 4d4+8+2(good hope)+4(bard)=23

The jury's out a bit on whether Freedom of Movement actually negates the penalty to movement from wearing armour. I checked the boards and there is no consensus. That said, I'm happy enough for it to be the case in this instance.

Freedom of movement doesn't negate his armour movement penalty - that comes from his level 7 Fighter Armour Mastery ability.

"Time to die, little giant," Hudak yells. "Mighty Hudak will cut you into many little pieces, and the feed those pieces to Ameiko's pet fish!"

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed wrote:
Never noticed that about poor visibility, but here it is. Notwithstanding, Hudak's hasted speed is 40', so a double move (at half speed), assuming he heads in a straight line, takes him to AH-AI/9-10. That means he's still in the fog and can't see anything yet. Unless I hear otherwise, that's what he'll do.

Otherwise: As he is not slowed down by his armour, Hudak's hasted speed is 60', which gives him 40' more of movement once he exits the fog.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

The next step is a little tricky - Hudak is hasted and has Freedom of movement running, so he runs right through the fog. He has enough movement to get to the top of the stairs; my question is if he can see our enemy once he exits the fog. If he does, he heads into melee, but where obviously depends on where the spellcaster is.

Elisile!

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Nice saves. Does the explosion burn away any of the magical fog?

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Move to AO-AP 9-10.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

"Top of the stairs!", the Shoanti bark in near-unison. "Get him!"

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Lots of bodies to stack... How about this:

Tiny Camlo (opens door): AS 9
Big Demiarchos: AT-AU 10-11
Big Hudak: AV-AW 9-10
Big Alwyn: AV-AW 7-8
Little Illes: AT 8
Little Elisile: AV 11
Little Sefayll: AU 12

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

5' step to AX 19 before attacking T3. Attack roll 9+22+4(bard)-3(Power Attack)=AC 32, damage 1d10+19+4(bard)+9(Power Attack)=40.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Hudak is slowed. This sucks. So - partial charge to AY 18, attacking T1. Attack roll 17!+22+4(bard)-3(Power Attack)=AC 40, confirm roll 12+22+4-3=AC 35, damage 1d10+19+4(bard)+9(Power Attack)=39x2=78.

Holy s#+&. Not bad for one attack - my dice roller likes us tonight.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Good saves! With that he has saved against all three, which makes him immune to further gaze weapon damage (I think).

Camlo!

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Fort save (DC 18) vs ripping gaze 1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Fort save (DC 18) vs ripping gaze 2: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Hudak moves to AX 16. Alwyn delays.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Hudak prepares an attack in case a thing suddenly pops into being next to him. No move, obviously.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Move to AV 13.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Jesus H. Christ, these saves. Hudak moves to AW 9. Does Thing 2 need a separate Concentration check versus Demiarchos?

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Fort save (DC 18): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Fort save 1 (DC 18): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Fort save 2 (DC 18): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Initiative Alwyn: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Initiative Hudak: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Initiative Demiarchos: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Hudak moves to L-M 20-21 and drinks a potion of CSW. He regains 3d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 8, 7) + 5 = 22 hit points.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Hudak hacks into the newly arrived zombie:
Attack 1: 10+22+4(bard)-3 (Power Attack)=AC 33, damage 1d10+19+4(bard)+9 (Power Attack)=40.
Attack 2: 11+17+4-3=AC 29, damage 1d10+19+4+9=39.
Attack 3: 14+12+4-3=AC 27, damage 1d10+19+4+9=39.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Sequencing this turn depends on whether Demiarchos can use his breath weapon over Enga (from right behind her, obviously).

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Hudak lays into the zombie looming over him:
Attack 1: 11+22-3 (Power Attack)=AC 30, damage 1d10+19+9 (Power Attack)=34.
Attack 2: 14+17-3 (Power Attack)=AC 28, damage 1d10+19+9 (Power Attack)=31.
Attack 3: 13+12-3 (Power Attack)=AC 22, damage 1d10+19+9 (Power Attack)=34.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Didn't see Mothers' init rolls. Keeping mine, that gives us:

Camlo 30
Sefayll 13
Demiarchos 11
Hudak 10
Alwyn 7
Enga 5
Illes 3

Aassorted undead giants ?

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

No move; I keep using my Lunge feat.
Attack 1: 11+22+5(bard)-3(Power Attack)=AC 35, damage 1d10+19+9(PA)+5(bard)=40.
Attack 2: 12+17+5(bard)-3(Power Attack)=AC 31, damage 1d10+19+9(PA)+5(bard)=39.
Attack 3: 14+12+5(bard)-3(Power Attack)=AC 26, damage 1d10+19+9(PA)+5(bard)=37.
Attack 4 (bonus from Haste):12+22+5(bard)-3(Power Attack)=AC 36, damage 1d10+19+9(PA)+5(bard)=39.

Forgefiend!

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Hudak moves to J21 before attacking the golem using his Lunge feat. Attack roll 12+22+5(bard)-3(Power Attack)=AC 36, damage 1d10+19=9(PA)+5(bard)+5(Alwyn's Battle Rage blessing)=46. Hudak is a g$%~&&ned monster.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Nausea duration: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Will save (very high DC) versus shrinkage: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Bah. Thankfully, that magically becomes 8 hp. New feat is Dazing Assault.

EDIT: Hudak's done.

Bless you! The authentic D&D player.

We're getting close to leveling. That always gets me a little twitchy, especially now when we'll be going from level 10 to 11.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

5' step to Y8. He takes an extra attack from Blessing of fervour this turn:
Attack 1: 10+21-3 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=AC 32, damage 1d10+19+9 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=39.
Attack 2: 11+16-3 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=AC 28, damage 1d10+19+9 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=37.
Attack 3: 12+21-3 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=AC 34, damage 1d10+19+9 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=38.

The lamia, then Elisile.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Ha! A nicely timed 20.

"No time for sleep now, lamia. Shoanti never tire of killing their enemies, especially monsters like you."

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Oh crap. I didn't even think about the field of silence that way. Oh well...

Will save (including WIS drain): 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 - 2 = 21

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Hudak takes an extra attack from Blessing of fervour this turn:
Attack 1: 9+21-3 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=AC 31, damage 1d10+19+9 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=40.
Attack 2: 12+16-3 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=AC 29, damage 1d10+19+9 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=38.
Attack 3: 11+21-3 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=AC 33, damage 1d10+19+9 (Power Attack)+4(bard)=36.

If the first blow drops the lamia, he moves to X8. If it takes two blows, he just takes a 5' step to R10.

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed wrote:

Touch attack v Hudak 1d20+12 v touch AC. On a hit, Hudak takes 1d4 WIS drain. He must also make a Fort save of DC 22 or take 1d3 CON damage.

Fort save vs Poison 13+11=24. Is this a multi-save poison, or, as it is a spell, does it only require one?

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Charge to Q11, using the movement boost from Blessing of fervour. Attack roll 17!+21-3(Power Attack)+2(charge)=AC 37, confirm roll 12+21-3(Power Attack)+2(charge)=AC 32, damage 1d10+19+9(PA)=34x2=68.

"C'mon, Enga! Get some!" Hudak yells at the kobold as he rushes past her and crashes into the nearest lamia with bonecrushing force.

EGB, then Alwyn.
