Male Human Rogue (Burglar) 1
Hector climbs onto the horse a little uncertainly, and notices the noble's attraction to the young barmaid. He doesn't say anything, but makes a mental note; something to bear in mind should it come in useful. His crossbow is in his hands as the group travels; best to be prepared for surprises these days...

Hector nods. "Aye; if nothing else I could do with a drink," he says drily. "Still, at some point I'd like to do something about those tribes that attacked us; while we sent the attackers running, if we let them think they got away with it they'll only come back with more friends."

Thanadros wrote: Noticed that Hector has not posted in a while, is everything ok? He kinda missed the going to auntie's train, but he was in the area and could have easily joined us to get in on this conversation. Sorry; had some trouble getting my internet working the past couple of days. Should be fine now. Hector might as well tag along with those headed to the auntie. Hector has been fairly quiet since his encounter with the ageing owner of the bakery; more so than usual. He met up with the others who went to Niska's house, and while he greeted them politely enough, he's barely said two words since except when spoken to directly.

"Thank you Alma," Hector replies with a smile as he accepts the loaf. "Don't worry, they feed me well enough - they just make sure I work it all off in the fields," he adds as his smile broadens. He breaks off some of the bread and eats it. "This isn't bad. You know, if I didn't know better I'd say you did this for a living," he adds, his tone suggesting that he's simply joking.

"Thank you, Father," Hector says to Lejes before turning to the others. "Thank the gods they're dealt with. Still, it might be an idea to keep our eyes open in case it happens again - and for that matter, it might even be an idea to search the rest of the streets; just in case one of them decided he wasn't finished yet..."

Hector drops his looted bow, takes a step forward and tries to punch his attacker in the face. "You're all going to die for this," he says to the goblins in a tone far calmer than the expression on his face. "I won't stop there either: I'll kill your brothers, your sisters, your parents, your women and your children. I'll see your whole tribe exterminated, because I'm far more vicious than you could ever be, and you made the mistake of attacking my home." Let's see if I can scare a few more of them away. It may be worth noting that by this point I'm probably covered in goblin blood from cutting that first goblin's throat...

Hector winces slightly as the bleeding from his arm slows, but doesn't stop completely. "Thank you. We shouldn't linger: there's more to the north," he says to the near blind priest. He goes to one of the fallen goblins and picks up a bow and a quiver of arrows. He then sets off towards the north at a run.

Hector curses loudly as the arrow hits him in the arm carrying the dogslicer, causing him to drop it. He quickly moves around one of the tables and attempts to grab one of the goblins (I7) by the throat. Grapple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Edit: Also, I have improved grapple, so no Attack of Opportunity

I'm fine either way. Once the goblins are close enough, Hector stops and throws the severed head, trying to get it into their midst. "GUESS WHAT HAPPENS TO THE REST OF YOU!" he snarls. Intimidate to try and scare the goblins into fleeing - and telling their friends that a second attempt may be a bad idea: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Hector curses under his breath. "If they made it this far into the town, there's bound to be more causing trouble elsewhere. Let's see if we can't make this town a place the goblins fear..." he says to those no longer fighting. He then turns to the children. "Did you see which way they came from?"

I take it that means I didn't just take four damage? Unarmoured, because while I expected an attack OOCly, I reckoned my character wouldn't. Also, as it happens, I hadn't noticed the dice tags... Hector takes advantage of the situation and picks up the dog slicer before trying to slice the throat of the goblin that attacked him. I'm fairly sure it's just a move action to pick something up, so the attack rolls are as follows: Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Unfortunately, Hector didn't expect to need armour today. On the other hand, his training in unarmed combat allows him to take advantage of openings that other's might not even notice, as he stamps on a goblin that's trying to crawl out from under the wagon. "GET THE **** OUT OF MY TOWN!" he snarls at the rest, revealing a fairly violent side of his personality which has thus far remained hidden. I thought that IC, my character wouldn't be wearing armour. Ah well. On the other hand, with my Improved Unarmed Combat, I can make Attacks of Opportunity while unarmed, and that is as follows: Attack: 1d20+2=20

Hector's head whips around at the sound of screams, and spots the goblins almost immediately. He growls something unintelligible, gives off a cry of "GOBLINS!" and starts to walk over to the attackers, a look of fury on his face. 22 Perception (18 on the dice) and 4 Initiative (1 on the dice). I intend to walk over to the nearest goblin and grab it by the throat. I'm standing at F7

Fair enough; Hector would probably consider that a sign that you're wiser than most ;). "I wasn't exactly a regular temple-goer before my arrival here, but even I used to attend on feast days or on special occasions," Hector says with a shrug, though those who have gotten to know him since his arrival will have noticed that he's actually been attending quite regularly. "You don't have to be the most devout man to show up for something like this."

Hector shakes the man's hand. "Ought to be an interesting festival; looks like there's a lot of visitors come to join in the party." Noticing Quar's studying look, Hector simply gives Quar a nod of acknowledgement. Incidentally, in case there was any confusion, I'm currently unarmed and unarmoured.

"It's quite all right, Gornak; I'm sure you meant no offence," Hector says with a chuckle, walking up quietly to the small gathering. Hector is relatively new to the town, having lived here only six months, and has been earning his keep as a hand at one of the local farms, while helping to rebuild the cathedral during what time he's had spare. "Mornin' all," he adds belatedly. He then turns to Thanadros. "Aye; apparently it burned down a few years back, and they've been rebuilding ever since." |
