Hund's thoughts and hopes and desires all went black as he shut down and became an object. His mechanism went faulty with the impact of the last blow - per perhaps it was faulty maintenance from when Rardan last worked on him. Without Mok here to keep him running properly, this was bound to happen sooner or later. What hope did the mechanical dog have?

The gears within Hund continue to grind despite the faults, creating extra pressure. Then a line suddenly snaps releasing heated liquid, and the mechanical dog explodes. Shrapnel of metal fly outwards in all directions, hitting everyone within a yard: 1d6 ⇒ 3 radius.

Having orders, Hund immediately charges the woman, jaws snapping and claws clackering along the cement. His eyes glow an emerald green as he focuses on her.

Hund rushes forward, taking the stairs two astride and he runs full speed down the steps.

As Silas finds the hidden door, Hund is right on his heels. The dog comes running through, claws clanking against the hard floor as his powerful legs propel him forward. He leaps at one of the cultists, aiming to use his momentum and weight to knock them to the floor while he snaps his jaws at their face.

Having driven off all the teens, Hund follows Rordan's lead and heads down the stairs, looking for the lead cultist. Seeing no one, he looks for passageways, hallways, doors, or perhaps more stairs going further down.

As Hund approaches, he activates the controls that Mok and Rordan installed. Clawed s extended from his front paws, extra fluid helps power his legs for greater speed. He was ready to move forward and run every little snot weasel out of the farm and running for the hills.

He rushes in and roars as loud as he can; a deafening roar designed to implant fear into everyone nearby!

Round 1: Move and activate Beast Within. Round 2: Move and activate Primal Might (allowing beast within to last an hour). Round 3: Enter the farm and find the largest group (6 per discord) and use Primal Scream.

Primal Scream. Area; 5 cubic yards.

All the rage and fury of your magic come forth through your scream, which carries up to 1 mile away from you. Each creature in the area must get a success on a Strength challenge roll with 1 bane and a Will challenge roll with 1 bane. A failure on the Strength challenge roll causes a creature to become deafened for 1 minute. A failure on the Will challenge roll causes a creature to become frightened for 1 minute. When frightened in this way, a creature grants 1 boon on attack rolls made against it.

Hund starts to move forward, headed towards the farm house. Obviously where everyone is going is where the action will be.

Per discord conversation, Hund is making two Rank 0 incantations and spending 1 silver plus two hours to create Beast Within and Primal Might. This will be flavored as Mok working on the clockwork.

As the hours bled into the afternoon, Mok and Hund spent their time preparing for what was to come. The young orc tinkered on the gears and cables and fluid lines that somehow kept the mechanical dog operational.

As he did so, Rordan stepped in to ask what they were doing.

"I'm trying to make him better," Mok said. The teenage orc was focused on his work and didn't look up to talk to the goblin. Instead, he spoke through the gears and the grease.

"Can I help?" inquired the goblin. "There's a transfer line here that would work better if you connected it straight to this port over here. And that port? What's that used for?"

Mok answered, "I don't know. I didn't build him. And he's been through a lot. Few wars I think. There's a lot here that I don't understand; I'm just trying to keep him from falling apart."

"Here, give me that wrench," Rordan said. "You hold on to that bolt there, and I'll see if I can loosen this nut; then we can rewire some of this and I think we can...."

The orc and the goblin spent hours discussing, debating, and talking about machines and clockworks and everything else that came to mind as they tried to make Hund work for just one night longer.

Hund activates his night vision (1 hour), and he's ready to charge in as soon as Silas gives the word. How plan of action is to rush to the largest crowd of cultists and roar at them, confident that such a roar will cause many of them to flee as fast as they can. Hopefully others will take the clue and run as well. If not, then a little fire to the fields should help convince the rest.

He remembers the layout; the farm around the building and clear lines of visibility. Going in the daylight would be the same as sending a formal announcement.

Hund moves Mok towards the stretcher, following the lead of the guard. He is completely concerned for the young orc, uncertain of what he'd do without the boy. The years alone were nearly forgotten once he became friends with Mok, and combined with Silas, Baros - and now perhaps that old goblin who looked incredibly familiar (where did he know him from?), life was starting to feel like it used to back in the militia. He was finally starting to feel like he belonged. He couldn't lose Mok now.

Mok! Hund exclaims! As soon as he sees the young orc, he bursts forward, running as fast as he can. When he reaches him, he immediately clamps his jaws on the orc's clothing and starts pulling him away from the fire.

Hund's shoulders shake, as though he is laughing silently at his own bad joke. Come. We hunt. Find Mok.

With that, Hund turns and runs towards the house to look for the orc and the halfling.

Hund doesn't release the cultist until he is firmly in the hands of the militia. Afterwards, he trots over the the new goblin and makes a show of sniffing him.

Smell funny. Don't trust. he says in his low voice coming from the voice box installed near his throat.

Protect girl, Hund tells Silas before the mechanical dog bursts out of the alleyway, running as fast as his can to the other cultist, not allowing him to flee.

He quickly catches up (movement 14!) and tries to grab the cultist, preventing him from fleeing the scene. With the militia showing up, Hund can turn the cultist in to the local law. Just like he did when he was a mercenary.

Stepping into the alleyway, Hund corrals the two women more towards the back and hidden away before he steps into his own position. As the men walk into the alley after their prey, Silas steps out to confront them. Hund waits just a moment for them to assume he's their only target and to get overconfident before he steps into the fight.

As Hund prepares himself for battle, he will step out of of the house to guard the front porch as his benefactors exit, assuming that Silas will automatically take up rear guard.

His sharp claws audibly click against the wood porch, leaving behind scratch marks as he steps.

Hund moves over to sit next to the girl, resting his head against her leg in a gesture of comfort. How much comfort a metal dog can actually give someone is another question, but it doesn't stop the clockwork hound.

As soon as the key was turned and Mok issued his command, Hund bolted from the spot where he laid. His claws dug into the dirt, propelling him forward towards the kidnapping cultist.

Hund caught up to the man quickly, nipping at the man's heels and tripping him, knocking him to the ground.

As the man gets close, Hund moves to go between the girl's legs and props her up on his back, allowing her to ride him like a horse as he moves towards the exit.

Hund moves to place himself between the girl and the cultists, providing a physical barrier of metal between them and nudging her towards Mok, in a dog-like manner. Between the enormous physical size of Mok and the hard metal casing of Hund - who was by no means small himself - they should he able to 'convince' them to let the girl head back home. Or at least force her to be separated from the cultists whether they like it or not.

Hund trots away from the house as soon as business is complete. His first plan is to scout out the building where this is supposedly taking place. He wants to know where it is and how many people are around it.

Hund listens intently to the proposal. This sort of work is exactly what he was hoping to find. He nudges Mok's hand, resting the top of his head under the palm of the orc.

Confident that he secured the location, Hund heads back to Mok and the others. When the time comes, he will wake them and lead them to this house.

Until then, he curls up on the floor next to Mok and looks up at the young orc, eyes asking what the kid plans to do.

As the well dressed man proposed his hiring plan, Hund's immediate thought was to get information. Where do they meet? What's the purpose of the mission? What details can be given?

But the man just turned to walk away and no one was stopping him.

Hund, in response, got up to follow. He wanted to know where the man was going and where this benefactor was.

Being a quadruped, Hund can't really carry anything. Sure, he's got some sort of semblance of hands with opposable thumbs that an artificer had bolted onto his forelimbs, but his general body shape wasn't suited for lifting boxes. If someone had created a harness, he'd be able to pull the equipment to wherever the merchant needed. But at the same time, he didn't really want to. Hund was a mercenary trained in warfare, not a common laborer.

So instead, Hund laid down and watched everyone else work.

Hund is still worried these strangers are more (or worse) han they claim. As such, he keeps quite, hoping they'll assume he doesn't understand them. People tend to talk freely around those they believe even are stupid.

Once he's more or less satisfied with the patrol, he lays down next to Mok, occasionally getting up to patrol the camp again.
