When (because I know it will happen) I play RA again, I will lobby as much as I can for a 2 scout team - beautiful thing to see in action. In fact I may recommend it for any 'dungeon-crawly' adventure.

Sad to see this game finish Komm, but some times it is important to have closure in RPG games - and in this case it seems to work perfectly fine. Thanks to you and all the other players for keeping this going for over 3 years - it is quite an accomplishment in itself. Much like the others, I will keep an eye out for this one, and if you ever decide to continue it, definitely drop me a line please! Hope to see everyone around the boards and Merry CHristmas!!

Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 Grezzor shrugs off most of the insidious magic, and aims a similar spell to the same targets. Same cone shape again I believe avoids Vargrenz. "Burn!" - the goblin whispers again, this time more forcefully. Burning Hands (Reflex DC17): 5d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 4, 3) + 4 = 21

Seeing as their opponents seem apparently overwhelmed, Grezzor moves next to Ranalfus, and casts a simple fiery spell to engulf two of them. RA maps are always kinda messed up :D I think next to Ranalfus and using the second options for 15' cone:
Casting Burning Hands: "Burn..." - the wizard mutters. Burning Hands (Reflex DC17): 5d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4, 1, 3, 1) + 4 = 14 Lots of 1s...

Yeah, think it was the first level 3 spell I grabbed. And agreed on exchanging spells ;) And Varg, you can chip in at any time man ;) Grezzor nods and moves to the door, studying it for a moment. Then he goes through the arcane process required to dispel the magic present therein. Dispel: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Forget about it. "I am unable to overcome it" - the goblin shrugs, returning to the others.

"This door may be beyond our skills, but not Grey's." Turning to face the witch Keil asks, "Magic can be undone, can it not?" "Or mine" - Grezzor adds - "Yes, magic can be dispelled. Shall I try it?"

Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19 "There is definitely magic involved - I cannot fathom what it is though" - Grezzor comments. I don't think I have ever succeeded in a Knowledge in this game.

I am not familiar with the Aegis, sorry Ranalfus :P As for the Alchemist, I do think we could use as many ranged options as possible, but since we already have Keil wanting/needing sneak attack options (such as flanking), you guys could make a strong tag team?

Thanks for all the feedback guys - most of it I am aware, but really very good tips there ;) I am aware Wizards are versatile and powerful, but I am getting the feeling the 'adventuring days' in Rappan Athuk are too long - as strong as Grezzor may become, his resources are still finite (you guys obviously know this, hence the Scribe Scrolls and the Craft Staff/Wand ideas), and when they finish he can't contribute enough (Ray of Frost becomes of course less and less relevant...). The death of Arlok is a straight up example of this - our day was not even at half yet, but a good chunk of my spells were already spent. Yet, simply waiting for me to recover spells wouldn't make sense - characters just don't act like that, and it would be just too much meta and suspension of disbelief not to attack. We did what made sense, and it went very wrong. Also, and unfortunately we have had close to no downtime (as far as I can remember), which puts a dent in most the craft related ideas... Grey, I am planning on getting the Faerie Dragon yes ;)

Thanks for the input guys, I'll stick with him - just sometimes I get the feeling I don't have enough blasts to make him effective enough. Where maybe someone with melee capabilities could continue being useful, even after spells are exhausted (like a Magus for example). Then again Rappan Athuk is a different place altogether :P Sting is too squishy to scout though ;)

No worries Komm - we'll be here. On a side note, I'm starting to think maybe I should ponder the possibility of changing characters... Don't really think Grezzor is being the best contribution here... Maybe a Magus or something more combat able....

With a snicker, Grezzor steps next to Ranulfus, and unleashes a torrent of fire from his hands at the fleeing ogres. Casting Burning Hands - from the template I guess I can get at least 2 or 3 of them. Intensified Burning Hands (Reflex DC 17): 7d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 1, 1, 4, 2) + 2 = 17

With an approving smile, Grezzor casts another spell and the group's speed is increased enormously. Casting Haste. I probably also want to move, but still have no idea where we are on the map - can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Apologies for the delays, I got a little lost with the scouting and a bit demoralized after the last fight - I am ready to go now. Will open with a fireball on the surprise round. Unfortunately I am not exactly sure on which slide we are, but I will try to catch as many as I can with the fireball. Fireball Reflex Save DC19: 5d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 5, 6) + 2 = 23

Grezzor seems disappointed at how his magic has failed him, so he simply plods along, most of the time distracted in his own thoughts. He frequently returns to his spellbook, as if some sudden realization would change anything, but then after a quick perusal he puts it back down and just continues walking.
