Greyfield cracks his knuckles in anticipation. Longing for the clash of bone and sinew, The Mad Monk waits for the sign of a guard with a signal horn. Singing to himself... Nothing could be more morose when a guard begins to choke in the eveEeEeEEniiiiNNnnnggGgGggGGgg....

I concur with the plan. I'm all about jumping the guards in their break-room and then using it as a starting point. I'll roll stealth to keep a low profile. When/if I see a guard I'd like to bash their brain, bash it the f**k in

Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Smoak in front for skill purposes? I'll be second (or first if Smoak wants to hang back)

Sorry for the absence. It's my last week of my last semester in my masters program. Looking to post more in the future.

"Ahhhhh, thank you friend"

That familiar sly smile spreads across his wiry, pale face

"Today is a great day for violence"

Yeah, high perception for me.

Haha! BANTER! I rolled an 18 on a stealth check when I needed it. Other than that, my rolls are as pretty as a dumpster fire.

I don't know. It seems like plans get suggested and then they are either wholly dismissed, or revised by somebody else so I am just going to wait until you all point at something and tell me to punch it. Furthermore, does nobody have Spellcraft? Has nobody tried to identify this thing yet (the veil)? Is Sir Cudjet not evil? That may throw a few wrenches my way. Just saying

Spoiler:
I count two. One from Smoak, and one stashed away in the unholliest of holies in Khara.

We could always not use it. And then when we see her throw it at her feet and claim that we have mad skills. That being said, we have two days until we are sentenced. This has potential to be the shortest campaign I've ever played in if that were the case hahaha

I'm to bed. Have fun you night owls.

Half-elven ears twitch with anticipation, and a wry smile revealing yellowed teeth spreads across his face at the sight of the key.

"Suggestions? Use the Tearbringer's skills to remove these chains and attempt to breach the door. There seems to be a blade on that mystical rag of yours good Sir, and you could use that to...prove a point. I am in no need of a weapon, so by all means it's yours. I am sure Enosh's skills will prove to be a great boon when the need arises...and then the dead will arise heHEheHEHhehe...

As far as our lovely ladies are concerned, if these pathetic excuses for guards are indeed undisciplined, fat drunkards then what could be more enticing than seductive beauty in all its naked glory. That will lull them into position."

Blue eyes dart to meet the transfixing hetero-chromatic eyes of Ana:

"You said it Child; bloodrunning there will be."

Shackled hands reach up to the ashen skin on the chest and his bony fingers trace the outline of a pentagram as hes stares at the matching symbol on the veil:

"Moloch wills it."

Just to make a point, while my character plots doom for other characters, he is just making contingencies for the future if plans go off the rails. I am all about the non-PVP aspect of this campaign. It's simply interior dialogue to show that Greyfield is....unstable.

One love,

Jonah

Male Half-elf Hungry Ghost Monk 1 (HP 10)/10; AC 15/15/13; CMD 19 [21 against grapple]; Fort+4, Ref +4, Will +5, Init +6, Perception +12, Low Light Vision)

At Enosh's confession to necromancy:

HA! I KNEW it. Still, it is pleasing to see one of such dedication here with these other.....additions....

To the plan at hand:

So the Weeper has the means to break us out, hmmmm? Let him lead the way, and stay behind him. The females (once the sultry one is back among us) will undoubtedly bicker with each other in order to flesh out their queen-bee competition.

A sudden outburst flows from the contemplative grey half-elf

heHehHEHEhhahaHAHAHAhHAHAH!!

Immediately the laughter ceases as quickly as it came, and the half-elf dips his head again in thought

DISCIPLINE!! Damn you, Greyfield, discipline! Now, where were we...

This anti-magic field, if true to its purpose, could suppress the necromancer's abilities. You may need to take him here in the prison Greyfield, as much as it pains to hurt the faithful, but self-preservation is key...it is KEY!

This leaves HIM. Noble lost his way? HmmmmmheHeHEhAhAH...

I want him for research, no no no, I NEED him for research. This is an utmost priority.

But, first things first:

I window pane? Intriguing....would that actually throw a window where needed?

Hieronymus Greyfield; I have also never met my match in hand-to-hand combat. Azure eyes sweep over to Swearoath and give a piercing chill And unlike "lofty" knights, I need no sword, steed, or lance to fell the whelps who test me.

My character would follow your lead, most definitely. I'm thinking of grappling a guard (if even possible) and do the whole hostage situation thing.

Ya know, things normal d20 heroes would never do haha

Oops, sorry about the double sense motive roll.

Just to double check, the info underneath spoiler tabs is only for those characters correct? Would it be possible for my character to make a perception check to notice that a guard got pick-pocketed?

This being my first PbP campaign, I'm still getting adjusted to the style. I like it greatly so far. Narrative is a good thing.

The whole playing evil aspect is quite interesting as well; we are all bold characters but in a pretty tight spot. Not gonna lie, I was sweating that stealth roll.

Also, everybody's characters are quite original, which is super dope. You know that episode of the Simpsons when the Asian mob has a huge fight in their front yard? And Marge drags Homer inside and he says "ahhhh, but that guy in the white suit was just standing there! He was about to do something really cool!"...that's EXACTLY how I see Rene's character, haha

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

For my one last action after the scene plays out, I'd like to try and a strength check (most likely in vain) to break the bonds at my wrist

Strength Check/Break DC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Greyfield takes one small nibble from his ration, and upon hearing Ana's jape at the undisciplined and portly turnkey starts giggly in a small wave which builds to a great crescendo.

heh..heHeHeHEheHAhAHAHAHAHA!! Dinner and a show. Simply marvelous.

Then a more straightforward approach. Personally speaking, the legend of Brandiscar Prison isn't the truth. These whelps are soft, drunk, and weak. Too reliant on perceived safety of a legend long gone. With your...assets...I'm sure we can get through these obstacles. Or are those claws merely for show?Hmmm?

Male Half-elf Hungry Ghost Monk 1 (HP 10)/10; AC 15/15/13; CMD 19 [21 against grapple]; Fort+4, Ref +4, Will +5, Init +6, Perception +12, Low Light Vision)

As the attractive beastborn drones on, Greyfield's eyes wander back down to the floor, yet his ears perk excitedly when he hears "or else to kill every/guard soldier that might come after us"

I can help with that aspect of the plan. I'm more than happy to take orders and directives, as of now. Loose these chains, and I can silence a few of the guards, permanently. As for our means of egress, you mention sailing. Perhaps the sea is our means of conveyance?

Male Half-elf Hungry Ghost Monk 1 (HP 10)/10; AC 15/15/13; CMD 19 [21 against grapple]; Fort+4, Ref +4, Will +5, Init +6, Perception +12, Low Light Vision)

To Ana:

Clever girl. In time child, you'll see my skill set

I concur with the Tearbringer. The night time is the right time; and how do we shake these shackles? Hmmmm???

At the words of "Greyfart" from Smoak:

Ha!heHehEHEhe... The Tearbringer has skills in wordplay.

Funny, very funny. Let's see, short yet a little meat on the bones. Luckily halflings starve at the same rate as children due to similar size so calculations for the last 3 experiments should work. Furthermore, halflings are rumored to be gluttonous little heathens feasting and drinking to the point of bursting! What a possible opportunity for my work...damn these CHAINS!

In response to Khara's questions about what Greyfield does:

Me? My profession is...

Should I tell the truth, hmmmm?? That I live a simple life of stealing children away from the busy streets and secure them in my research quarters to watch them blissfully ebb away into nothing as they choke on their dry screams and moan to death while they starve. No. Leave some room for future conversations heHEheHE..

I'm a nutritionist.

Old School DM: Do any of the guards ever get close enough to me for a possible unamred strike (with head, elbow, knee, anyhting)?

Hmmmmm...I concur with the weeper. Perhaps night would be a better time to attempt such a feat, yet in the meantime I'm all for open (and exclusive} discussion regarding exactly how we get out.

Azure blues eyes slide over to the beastborn Whatever trick you have hidden up your sleeve or....where ever else...I will assist in any way I can. Trust me.

Once we get these chains off, we'll sweep over these whelps like a glorious plague. Give hale and hearty over there a sharp jerk of his head towards the direction of the fighter a weapon and we're back in business

As for myself, I require no weapon. I AM the weapon

Responding to his new "brothers and sisters", Greyfield thinks to himself thusly:

Regarding Khara Interesting. Touched by the planes it seems. Exquisite form; near perfect lines. A little plump for my tastes....yet still.

Regarding SmoakPoor sod. Seems to be in a heap of trouble he can't get out of. Grumble, grumble. Mutter, mutter. I'd have my head in my hands where I him as well.HehehAHAHahe

Regarding AnastasiaBright girl. Only one to talk thus far (other than the halfling's grumblings).Seems skilled. Watch closely, and follow.

Regarding CudjetStrong build. Well fed (possible chink to exploit). Yet do not mistake for weakness. A sellsword's arm, but eyes that show better character. Observe for possible future "research".

Regarding EnoshUnfathomable! He lives! This level of dedication to the art is astounding. Must be cheating....magic is at play, yes yes...but if not? Damn! What a specimen!

Responding to Anastasia's question Hehehehe, not touched child, just thinking on better times.

Perception to Notice the Cell: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17

Greyfield concedes to his new comrades request and stays quiet and listens to the sounds of the prison:

Perception to Listen to Surroundings: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13

With two rogues and a bard that seems to have taken it as a skill, I think we have Disable Device on lock-down (pun most definitely intended).

Use Magic Device, however.....

Die Roll: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

The tattered rags serving as garments slip and hang in unflattering fashion upon a form which can only be described as gaunt. Next to his new companions, a half-elf standing just over 6 feet with eyes the hue of the open ocean stands straight with his shackled hands in front of his waist. A thousand-yard stare looks downward, as though the half-elf's mind is lost on some other plane. Every other moment, a half-smile spreads across his lips and he snickers to himself, lost in a comical moment from his past.

When the firebrand approached, the half-elf Hieronymus Greyfield stared directly into his tormentor's eyes, and pulled back from the burning pain when it surged through his body.

Spineless swineherd. Oooo to be home with you in my pit, to watch you waste away into nothing. Sadly, I may have to settle with collapsing his throat. Damn compromises
