Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

I'm having issues with my subscription. Received email that I would be charged next Monday for 2 Pathfinder AP subscriptions even though I should only have 1 Pathfinder AP subscription.

I managed to log in to the Paizo store and check Subscription Manager and sure enough I have 2 Pathfinder AP subscriptions waiting to be charged. My worry is if I cancel 1 of the subscriptions it may cancel my other Pathfinder subscription.

Has anyone encountered this issue? Should I go ahead and cancel 1 of my Pathfinder AP subcriptions and hope it doesn't cancel the other one as well?

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Damn, that was a long time ago. Almost 12 years.

You're right, Majuba. I never did let my subscription lapse but it doesn't seem to be worth the energy to make a fuss over the charter title.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Still here. Didn't follow the 2e playtest that much but I'm eager to see how it plays out.

Edit: Hmmm. I see it no longer says I'm a charter subscriber even though I've never canceled or missed my subscription. Perhaps it was the update I had to do to manage my payments?

Understandable but sad. I'm glad I was able to join your game and come to know you and others in this adventure. Until we meet again... :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Quick question, Aubrey. How long does the Silver Smite feat last?

Silver Smite [General]
Prerequisite: Smite evil class ability, follower of the Church of the Silver Flame.
Benefit: When you use your smite evil ability, you deal an extra 1d6 points of sacred damage to the target of your smite. While this appears as wreathing the weapon in silvery fire, this does not actually burn the opponent.

In 3.5e, smite evil was only good for one attack which meant Silver Smite was only good for that attack as well.

In PF, smite evil lasts until the target is dead. Does that mean Silver Smite continues as well?

Psionics continue to impress and baffle me. What just hit the gambling hall? It seems incredibly powerful, yet the save is pretty doable.

Hit the home team as well.

I suspect it was the Inspired monolith being activated; probably prematurely, since as you stated that the save wasn't that strong.

Anyone else getting shades of Ocean's 11 feelings. Seems we're pulling off a heist at a casino.

Looks like Aubrey has been reading or read Ultimate Intrigue. ;)

Never tried any of those. This has been my first online rpg that I've stuck to for some time. Can't offer any opinions or options.

I'll get the pdf. I haven't had a chance to follow along, but I like what little I've heard through podcasts and the actual play playest they did with GlassCannon.

Sorry to be dense, but when I scrolled back the loot was 50,678 gp 5 sp. Then we need to set 22k aside to charter the ship. So 28,678.5 split... 4 ways? Ez, Kaz, Hal and Gil? Janosz, Rod, and LB were out as they were departing I think. So 7,169.62 each. Is that correct?

Now then, I stated in the discussion forum that the loot we took is worth about 50,678 gp 5 sp. We’ll want to reserve 25,000 gp of that to charter the airship. (Captain Marrius drives hard bargains). Now then, a trip from Sharn to Flamekeep on the lightning rail is going to cost Rod and Janosz 50 gp 2 sp each to travel first class and will take them 3 ½ days to get there. So that’s coming out of the loot. Which leaves us with 25,578 gp 1 sp to split among the four of us with Pierce getting a half share. (I’m counting Pierce as I’m assuming he participated in the battle with Bludgeon off screen so he should receive some reward).

That means 5,684 gp 2 cp per (with Pierce receiving 2,842 gp 2 cp). If you were interested in some of the loot to take ownership (Gil expressed interest in the wand), it’s going to have to come from your share of the loot.

Campaign still alive. However, last time we saw Janosz, he was escorting Rod to Flamekeep on the lightning rail. Perhaps Aubrey may run an ambush that will cause you to turn back and regroup with us. (Also, maybe get some loot from the ambush because you and Rod didn't get a share from your departure.)

Edit: Welcome back!

Anybody getting the Playtest rulebook when it comes out? Or using the rules to check them out?

Surprise. I was down but not out. After checking in with Aubrey he is fine continuing with 7 so I'm back.

Glad you're back! Otherwise, it would have been a real facepalm moment when we got to Sarlona and discovered too late that Ez had the shards with him in a Leomund's secret chest back in Khorvaire. :<

Ok, Pierce’s backstory is much improved and provides a connection to join the band. You’ll need to make an adjustment to your appearance as it still contains some of his previous background.

Also, Resiliency should be DR 3/chaotic. If you were true neutral, it would remain as DR 3/magic.

Let’s see, we have 2 kalashtar and 1 warforged.

Vaisyrharath is a N kalashtar psion 13.
Mintash is a LG kalashtar monk (enlightened monk) 9/Fist of Dal Quor 4.
Pierce is a LN warforged inquisitor 12/artificer 1.

Both kalashtar have similar backstories in being antagonists against the Quori and Dreaming Dark. Both were ordered to Sharn and discover what the Dreaming Dark is plotting where ostensibly they'll run into Rodergo's Reavers.

Pierce’s backstory is more detailed but I’m wondering what’s going to happen when he asks about Gelb and we tell him that the Master ate his brains. Mission accomplished?

Nice background, mellowgoth. Should be fun to interact with Vaisy.

;)

An airship trip from Sharn to Honsaa in Adar is about 9500-9750 miles through the Dragonreach as the crow flies. Let's round it up to 10,000 miles as we'll want to skirt some areas such as Argonnessen and Syrkarn. Using airship travel times, that's about 21-22 days of travel. If we charter the Crimson Eagle, that's 21-22,000 gp to get us there.

All told if we sell the items we kept we'll have 50,678 gp 5 sp.

Edit: the greatsword alone will give us 16,175 gp by itself.

Let's see if this is a fair split -

Fort Galliard
+1 kukris
Masterwork +4 STR composite longbow
2 belts of giant strength +2
3 cloaks of resistance +1
2 rings of protection +1
Masterwork quarterstaff
Amulet of mighty fists +1
+1 adamantine guisarme
Masterwork dagger
Masterwork shortsword
four doses of large scorpion venom
three doses of sassone leaf residue
+2 heavy steel shield
alchemist's formula book
Headband of inspired wisdom +2

Rodergo's Reavers
+1 kukris
Amulet of natural armor +1
2 belts of giant strength +2
2 cloaks of resistance +1
Ring of protection +1
Bracers of armor +2
+1 adamantine guisarme
2 boots of striding and springing
+2 light mace
Headband of mental prowess (INT/WIS) +2
Silver unholy symbol
Wand of deeper darkness (9 charges)
+2 light crossbow
Headband of vast intelligence +2
+1 human-bane flaming burst two-handed sword

If Fort Galliard doesn't have an alchemist, the Reavers will take the formula book to sell. Left the poisons with the Fort, didn't want to get caught with them back in Sharn. Also, if anybody wishes to take one of the items, feel free. Leave the 2-handed sword though, that'll give us the most in sell value to get coin for the trip.

OK. By the way, the Runelords game is effectively in the same situation. If GG wants to consider branching out into that game, he is more than welcome.

Just read this and I was going to throw my hat in the ring but I saw you already got somebody joining. Let's spread your evilness...uh, I mean your cunningness to new blood. ;)

[Rubbing hands together] Sweet! More cannon fodder. ;)

Been busy lately as the students have been taking their state assessments and I've been helping out with monitoring.

Before we derailed Aubrey’s adventure to go save Lightbringer, we were originally going to escort the kalashtar and the shards to Adar. We rescued Lightbringer and now it is time to continue with the main mission.

We’ll need to take the PCs with us in the event Mothy, Ithers, etc. return to the game. For sure we need to take Ez since he has the shards in a Leomund’s secret chest somewhere. The kalashtar need to come as our guides. We’ll need to hire Captain Marrius and his Crimson Eagle airship for transport. So unless Aubrey has a line of encounters for every mile from Khorvaire to Adar, there shouldn’t be much problems. Maybe we can swing by Valenar and pick up Runzyl. ;) Once at Adar, Rod, LB, Janosz, and Ez can fade into the background until their players return. You could recruit another player if you wish, Aubrey. But as it is, we have a paladin, a cleric, and a beguiler. That should cover most of the roles that may be needed in further adventures.

Incidentally, Aubrey, we need loot especially coin to pay for the airship. What were the baddies carrying? We can leave the oil of repairs and some weapons with the warforged Faith and Warforged 773 to defend their charges. Hopefully they’ll be fine until LB returns and launches a crusade against the Lord of Blades.

At least you were okay. Hope the Mrs. has a speedy recovery, too.

Very curious about it. Liking the three action economy I'm hearing about but the proof is in the pudding and will have to wait until the playtest comes out.

So far, so good for the forums.

Also, Janosz is only down 18 hps.

FYI, Rod's and Kaz's righteous might ends after their turns this round of combat 3.

Ah, gotcha. Then add another round to the summon monster VI duration.

Didn't the ones hit by Gil's shadow evocation fireball need to make two saves? One Will for the disbelieve and the second Reflex for half damage.

ithuriel wrote:
Ez is CL 13. Cataclysm Mage stacks there.

Except Cataclysm Mage doesn't give a +1 level to spellcasting class at 1st level. So, Ezreal should have a CL 12 (CL 13 with electricity spells).

Okay, confession time. I have not been keeping up with XP. Does anyone know what's our total?

Can't believe I forgot but...Happy New Year!

Hopefully, I’ve got this right…
Time remaining of buffs (in order of casting) –

All: Telepathic Bond (116 minutes 3 rounds), Bless (5 minutes), Extended Haste (4 rounds)

Ezreal: Overland Flight (12 hours 56 minutes 8 rounds), See Invisibility (126 minutes 9 rounds), Arcane Sight (10 minutes), Greater Invisibility (5 rounds), Summon Monster VI (7 rounds), Shield (12 minutes 4 rounds)

Gil: Invisibility (8 minutes 8 rounds), Fly (8 minutes 9 rounds), Obscuring Mist (11 minutes 2 rounds), Greater Invisibility (6 rounds)

Haladon: Communal Air Walk (16 minutes 8 rounds), Divine Bond (12 minutes 2 rounds), Divine Favor (2 rounds), Good Devotion (2 rounds)

Janosz: Communal Air Walk (16 minutes 8 rounds), Gravity Bow (expired), Longstrider (2 hours 57 minutes), Good Devotion (2 rounds)

Kazadar: Communal Air Walk (26 minutes 8 rounds), Righteous Might (3 rounds), Good Devotion (2 rounds), Divine Power (4 rounds), Chains of Light (6 rounds)

Lightbringer: Communal Air Walk (16 minutes 8 rounds), Weapon of Awe (4 minutes 9 rounds), Bull’s Strength (7 minutes 9 rounds), Ironskin (5 minutes), Good Devotion (2 rounds)

Rodergo: Communal Air Walk (16 minutes 8 rounds), Righteous Might (3 rounds), Good Devotion (2 rounds), Blade Barrier (10 minutes 3 rounds), Spiritual Weapon (6 rounds)

All right, I went back and reread since we arrived at the fort to the last round of combat and here's what I think happened in regards to buffs and so forth (not counting sphere of invisibility since its already gone):

Buff Round 0: Telepathic bond (120 minutes - All)
Buff Round 1: Overland Flight (13 hours - Ez), Invisibility (12 minutes - Gil), Communal Air Walk (20 minutes - LB, Janosz, Rod, and Hal; 30 minutes - Kaz)
Buff Round 2: See Invisibility (130 minutes - Ez), Gravity Bow (3 minutes - Janosz), Weapon of Awe (8 minutes - LB), Bull's Strength (11 minutes - LB), Fly (12 minutes - Gil)
Buff Round 3: Longstrider (3 hours - Janosz), Arcane Sight (13 minutes - Ez), Ironskin (8 minutes - LB), Bless (11 minutes - All)

We then took about 2 minutes to get into position. LB said it was 900 feet to the trenches assuming double move of slowest characters (LB, Kaz and Hal) to keep some stealth.

At 100 feet, Gil casts Extended Haste on everybody(24 rounds). We then took a single move wasting 1 round of Haste before we appeared on the map.

Combat Round 1: Divine Bond (13 minutes - Hal), Obscuring Mist (12 minutes - Gil), Greater Invisibility (13 rounds - Ez), Righteous Might (11 rounds - Kaz, Rod), Divine Favor (1 minute - Hal[swift casting]), Good Devotion (1 minute - LB, Janosz, Kaz, Rod, and Hal)
Combat Round 2: Divine Power (11 rounds), Blade Barrier (11 minutes - Rod), Summon Monster VI (starting - EZ)
Combat Round 3: Flame Strike (Kaz), Summon Monster VI (13 rounds - Ez), Shield (13 minutes - Ez), Greater Invisibility (12 rounds - Gil)
Combat Round 4: Spiritual Weapon (12 rounds - Rod), Fireball (Ez), Chains of Light (11 rounds)
Combat ends

5 rounds of Talking with Darkheart.
New combat

Merry Christmas!

Guys, I just dropped a message to Vattnisse to see how he was faring and to let him know the games are here and ready for him whenever he wishes. It turns out he's had a really brutal couple of months, including health problems, a car accident, job loss and bereavement. He's got some interviews lined up so there's a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. If any of you are either friends on Facebook or otherwise in touch with him, it might be nice to send a note of support.

Oh, damn! If you get in touch again, tell him I'll be praying for him.

Happy 4th of July!

Hey, Heathy's back!

So, let me see - the 5,616 gp 5 sp from the loot plus 5,260 gp from the bank gives me a total = 10,876 gp 5 sp

Subtract 3,000 gp for the flametouched sword, armor and shield leaves me 7,876 gp 5 sp. Also, new set of identification papers with portrait another 5 gp plus a quiver with arrows since I'm down to my last 6 arrows which takes away 1 gp.

That leaves me with a total of 7,870 gp 5 sp.

Just realized I've been lugging around a flametouched iron holy symbol. Does that mean I can channel positive energy one level higher?

ithuriel wrote:

Hal- if you are interested Ez can take your +1 sword and make it keen for the crafting cost if we take one day on the way to rent a forge.

While I wouldn't mind bumping my blade to keen, I have trouble seeing how to accomplish it IC. Ez sounds like he might hold a grudge for Rolund's/Haladon's about face or at the very least will do the minimum to assist the ex-Bone Knight.

A set of identification papers cost 2 gp, with portrait its 5 gp.

ithuriel wrote:
For the atonement he needs to know if Hal's evil days are considered to have been the result of a compulsion or deliberate misdeeds. It's a difference of 2,500 gp worth of incense and offerings and whether Rodergo has to personally intercede with the Silver Flame.

I can pay for the incense since I'm the one that needs atonement.

ithuriel wrote:
How about this for a division just to speed things along? Please adjust as you all see fit.

I'm fine with that division.

Aubrey the Malformed wrote:
Haladon's being given +1 armour, weapons and shield (if he really insists on throwing away his ring, despite what his superior officer said). If you want you can just pay the extra gold for the flametouched element.

I'll take that deal.

Haladon didn't lose divine grace with the archetype so he'll keep the cloak of charisma +4 since its the same as a cloak of resistance +2. I'll take one of the potions of bear endurance and perhaps the levitate as well if nobody wants that one.

With the money he has plus the share of his loot, Haladon will be able to purchase a +1 flametouched iron longsword, +1 flametouched iron full plate, and +1 flametouched iron heavy shield.

What makes Golarion different from Earth is that Earth's continent all have their analogue: Europe => Avistan, Asia => Casmaron, Africa => Garund, the Americas => Arcadia, Australia => Sarusan. But then, Golarion still has another huge continent with Tian-Xia, and if the ocean between Casmaron and Tian-Xia is indeed supposed to be about as big as the Pacific Ocean, then, I guess, Tian-Xia needs to be rather close to Arcadia to fit in.

Where is everyone getting the info that the ocean between Casmaron and Tian-Xia needs to be wider? According to James, that ocean needs to shrink and the one between Tian-Xia and Arcadia that needs to expand.

James Jacobs wrote:

Excellent work, folks!

While we haven't done this officially (and alas, the map of the Inner Sea Region was never really synced up to latitudes and longitudes, which is part of the problem), the one thing that I've clung to as "ground zero" for all of this is that Magnimar is at about the same latitude as Seattle, Washington. I'm relatively sure this means the Mana Wastes line up with the tropic of cancer. The artic circle begins at some point north of the northern edge of the map.

The map of the Crown of the World has good stuff as well, and there is indeed an expanse of relatively barren, unsettled tundra and wilderness between that map and Avistan.

Avistan and Tian-Xia are indeed on opposite sides of the world. The ocean between Tian-Xia and Arcadia is the largest ocean in the world.

In theory, Casmaron is the largest continent, and Sarusan is the southernmost one. It's not QUITE at the south pole, but it's a bit further south than Australia.

In the "rest of the world" map, Casmaron is a lot wider (it got kinda squished in the map we did in Inner Sea World Guide) and the ocean between Tian Xia and Arcadia is quite a bit larger. I would make Casmaron twice as wide on that map, shrink the ocean between it and Tian Xia a bit, and move that extra ocean section to the ocean between Tian Xia and Arcadia.

(The ocean between Tian Xia and Arcadia is intended to be the Pacific Ocean analog, and the one between Casmaron and Tian Xia the Atlantic analog.)

Hope this info helps! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!

Bolded section mine.

I believe Aubrey is using the Dreamscarred Press rules of Psionics. (I have all of them except the most recent one, Akashic Mysteries). You can find the rules in d20pfsrd.

Dreamscarred Press has done a good job of converting the 3.5 psionic rules to Pathfinder. However, I haven't had a chance to read the books since I'm behind in my Pathfinder ones.

Happy New Year!!!

Healed the lieutenant some but a full attack action will take her down. (She's only got 31 hps after my healing). Hopefully she'll withdraw and assist Kazadar.

Of course, Haladon is also hurt and if the ogre mage concentrates on him he'll go down.

Merry Christmas!

Hey, congratulations! A baby and a job. Looks like Christmas came early this year.
