I'm very sorry to have to do this, but effective immediately, I am pulling out of all my games. I don't want to, but to put it simply, I have been out of action for awhile anyway, primarily because I caught Covid from a guy at work and it very nearly landed me in the hospital.

I'm technically on the mend, but I have no energy, have body aches, and have trouble concentrating. As it is, even as I'm starting to recover, I also have walking pneumonia, and while I'm taking antibiotics for that as well, I am utterly exhausted all the time.

I know eventually I'll recover and will probably want to come back to this site, but for now, I'm not reliable for pretty much anything on any given day considering my physical state goes up and down so much. I know you guys are cool enough to understand, but I still feel guilty, so let me once again apologize, and say it was a blast roleplaying with you.

Grael/PD

Sorry if it wasn't clear that this was me...

Grael is gracious and offers his thanks for the expensive gift, but generally scowls at the mounts in general and eventually chooses a pony for himself.

As they ride, the crimson-haired dwarf does his best to adjust himself on his steed, but finds the whole experience rather uncomfortable and frankly awkward. He mutters quietly to himself,"Dwarves just ain't supposed ta ride like this. Much less to go huntin'."

Still, Foxglove seems genuine enough, if a bit pompous, and Grael does his best to be pleasant. "Can't speak for my companions, Master Foxglove, but for myself, I plan ta see a bit o' the world and see what's what, and what help I might offer in Torag's name."

Work is extremely hectic for me right now as we had a couple of people test positive which meant almost a dozen people were put out for two weeks on quarantine.

I like the game, but likewise am stretched rather thin. Apologies.

Grael rubs at his chin through his thick beard, examining the doorway along with Fiora. "Mayhaps they thought the robe was still charged an' usable? As fer the bones..."

The dwarf moves to Father Tobyn's tomb and looks inside with a critical eye, seeing if he can spot either something odd or unique about the tomb itself, or is he can perhaps discern if there had been something more than bones inside.

After a few moments, however, Grael shrugs.

Arrgh. Dwarves are SO SLOW. lol

Shield up, The warrior priest takes off at a run, moving toward the skeleton, bellowing in righteous fury!

Double move, then go full defense, hoping he has the skeleton's attention.

"Bah! To the nine hells with ye, scatterbones!" Grael snarls in defiance as much as pain, and he winds up and swings his warhammer at the skeleton with full fury!

However the undead warrior proves to be surprisingly nimble and Grael misses.

Moving quickly (double move) but in the deliberate way of dwarves, Grael hustles past Biggs, banging his hammer twice on his shield to make sure he's got the skeleton's attention. "C'mon then, ye blasted pile o' bones! Come at me, ye daft thing!"

Not goin to shoot a crossbow or waste a spell on this, but Grael will go full defense and try to keep the undead focused on him rather than the group until he reaches it.

Grael makes an involuntary face when Father Zantus objects and quietly mutters, "Everyone has enemies."

Knowing that his own list of prayer-spells wasn't exactly meant for detection and discovery, the crimson-haired dwarf stands back out of the others' way, and keeps watch.

Not seeing anything he could offer the interrogation other than whacking a few of the goblins around, Grael continues to scowl and sigh occasionally.

I think we've learned all they're willing or able to tell you.

Still scowling, Grael gives a dark chuckle of appreciation for Fiora's ability to persuade the goblins into confession, such as it was. He bites his tongue, however, not wanting to break the diplomatic young woman's cake-driven 'spell' over them.

Grael, despising pretty much every goblin he sees...other than Biggs...perhaps...stands against the wall outside the goblins' cell, his arms crossed and glowering at the creatures.

Apologies on my slow down for replies. OT picked up at work.

Grael shrugs and grins, "I don't see why not. I'm sure'n our help might be welcome, while the guards here shore up their defenses. Can't hurt ta' ask, an frankly...I weren't doin' much a'fore this, anyways."

"Arguin', sounds like. Marriage is like that...I've heard." Grael answers, distracted and unsuccessfully trying to flag down someone to bring him ale and food. The bushy-eyebrowed dwarf frowns, and while continuing to scan the room for someone to serve him, adds, "Aye, apparently we're indeed a bit popular around here. If'n I have ta listen to one more tale from a farmer with a story 'bout the 'biggest-dire-groundhog-ya'-ever-seen', I'll go batty as Mr. Biggs..."

Grael enters the Rusty Dragon, glances around, then heads directly for Gareth's table as well. "Well met, you two. Quite a festival, eh? Ya done well out there. Do ye mind if I sit here?" without really waiting for an answer, the dwarf pulls up a chair for himself.

After a pause he glances back and forth from Fiora to Gareth, and seems only then to notice to young man's disposition. "You alright, lad?"

Eventually Grael makes his way to the Rusty Dragon as well, still doing his best to be civil to the various "heroes" from around town that follow him there, several of whom he suspects may have been hiding when the goblins attacked, rather than defending the town.

Well now, that ain't exactly fair. Ain't their fault they haven't seen combat a'fore. True enough, I need to be a bit more tolerant...their tales ain't hurtin' no one...

"Yes. Well. That's quite a story..." Grael does his best to be gracious to the townsfolk surround himself and Fiora as the two do their best to help or at least comfort the wounded. Occasionally he frowns at a tale or an obviously bit of over-exaggeration, but overall he does his best to contain his disdain. Gotta keep in mind, these ain't dwarves...

To Aleks he says, "Ye got that right, lad. This almost had the look of a warband, and they ain't usually this brazen...'less they're being driven on by Hobgoblins or Orcs. Didn't see any o' them, though."

The fiery-haired dwarf pauses to listen to Gareth's version of events, nodding and grinning as he does so.

After waiting for whomever else wants to go, she heads there.

Let's say Fiora has a small apartment somewhere near cathedral square, seems to make the most sense. She is an adult after all :)

A small, tiny frown crosses Grael's face as he contemplates the delay in garnering ale, but he gives Fiora a nod and says, "Aye. You've got it right. We have a duty ta help a'fore we settle in. I'll join ye."

Searching at least a few...especially the war-leader seems a good idea.

"No 'Sir', madam. Just Grael. Don't place much on ceremony, unless less, y'know, tis part of a ceremony." The warrior of Torag grins at the Bard with a twinkle in his eye. "As fer burnin' them or what not...I think leavin' the bulk o' the work to the guardsmen seems ta be the best idea. I've found that disposin' of yer foes helps a man ta' deal with any trauma they might be feelin'."

Grael shrugs and moves to help Fiora despite his words. "Here. Lemme give ya a hand..."

"Twas simply what needed doing, sir. I'm sure, Master Foxglove, that no reward is necessary...unless yer offerin' ta buy me an ale or two, and if so, then reward away." Grael gives the overly dramatic man a nod, then looks to the others.

"This is gonna be quite the mess to be cleanin' up, sure." the dwarf sighs, removing his helm and running his fingers through his red-brown hair. "Blasted goblins. Need ta find out why they were makin' such a fuss."

The dwarven warrior of Torag grunts in pain as his breastplate takes the brunt of the goblin's attack, and he frowns from behind bushy eyebrows and focuses himself on his attacker. Ain't takin' this one seriously enough...that's twice he almost gutted me...

"There ye be, ya sons o' mud scum! Know that ye have been judged ta be foul and evil in the eyes o' the Father o' creation, and as a servant o' mighty Torag, I say to ye now, Flee or be Destroyed!"

As he and his companions advance, Kraghelm moves with an air of confidence brought on as much by his faith in his deity as any sort of ego or bravado. Readying his hammer and shield, Grael summons the divine power bestowed upon him by his chosen patron, and he casts Bless on himself and all of his nearby allies.

Determined, he moves with a tenacity only a dwarf can summon, seeking to inspire the others with the power of Torag.

Move and Cast Bless. It fills your allies with courage. Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.

The fiery-haired dwarf smiles and nods in approval of how Fiora handles the two townsfolk, offering, "Aye, ladies, the Lass is right. You should be safe in the Cathedral."

"And you, madam..." Grael continues, lowering his shield and hammer, though keeping it ready, "You handled yourself rather well, if I do say so, meself. Grael Kraghelm. Servant o' Torag, at yer service."

Exhaling, he continues, "Yer not wrong in thinkin' there might be or people in trouble. It's not a good sign that we ain't seen them what's leadin' this attack...or more o' these danged gobbo raiders...speakin' o' which..."

IF the Cathedral seems a reasonably safe place, then I'll add the following bit. If not, then I'll only stick with what's posted above.

"OWW! Dagblast it! Stupid Gobbo!" Grael roars when the goblin gets inside his defenses and frantically wounds him again, and he staggers...but only for a moment before Fiora's healing energies restore him completely to health. "Ahhh, thank ye Lass! That'll do me just fine!"

Unfamiliar with Aleksander's twin-blade style, Grael reacts to it with professional respect, and moves out of his way as the Fetchling attacks. Just a heads up, this week will be hit or miss for me as we're finally getting to move stuff into our new house starting today, though the BIG move will be on Monday when we move the furniture. I THINK I'll still be posting most days, but things happen, so...

Bare minimum, I'll check in with my phone, but just in case I wanted you guys to know.
