Yeah the comic medium and manga mediums tend not to worry about scaling and physics.
That said full power I would totes take Goku...
Superman Has demonstrated infinite strength so we will see.
Now one punch man could be interesting.
Of course Popeye beats them all. Punched so hard he broke the 3rd wall. That a serious punch right there.
Just to give an example of comic scaling. Smartest people in all literature TV and what have you pretty well comes down to comic book character first then you can spread to other fields. people like lex luthor tony stark Mr. fantastic set the bar so far above everyone else its just redicukous. The longer the comic line goes to the more absurd they get too.
True, power scaling is hard enough across the same story, let alone other story lines.
They tend to ignore any stats other than brute strength, and what not...
Also, not really my intent, just wanted to crunch some numbers and see what happened.
Don't be feeling to bad for All Might quite yet, he has quite the student to teach.
Deku's estimated full-power:
961,024,474,944,854,345,728 lbs of force per punch
7,450,580,596,923,828,125 lbs of force is the lowest possible full force.
TONS of MATH:
I caculated that number by utilizing the way the quirk is described to work, i.e It stores and multiplies the full potential of each holder.
I then looked up the average punching power of a black belt in karate/average human athletes punch
Took the highest human potential for two of the holders (all-might and All-for-One) and multiplied them all together
So the top one is my educated guess, and the bottom one is the lowest stats required for inheriting the power without exploding.
This means at minimum, Deku's acceleration potential is 827,842,288,547,092,013 in./s^2
Which is just shy of 70,139,170 times the speed of light
I'm nearly positive that this makes him more powerful than Goku has ever been. and proves beyond a doubt, that 1) we've yet to see his full power, and 2) his quirk does strengthen his body.
*Fanboying intensifies*
Seriously, this show just keeps getting better and better, raising the stakes, but not to the point of absurdity!
WHOO, can't wait till next week.
semi spoilers:
I hate to say it, but I was right about Bakugo not doing much.
I don't normally stress the details on a TV show, but it's still a pretty stupid law, and this series is good enough it deserves to be taken seriously, and yeah, we saw that the police prefer to sweep these kinds of things under the rug, but you've got to admit, it seems like way more of a headache than it's worth.
I don't think Bakugo will do all that much before everything else goes down.
also, is anyone else annoyed by the fact that they basically stated that self defense is illegal for non-heroes? That's... stupid, and technically means Bakugo just broke the law, as did the lady with the force-field in episode 1 of the whole series.
shoot, I let myself get dragged back into that conversation...
But, hey, the series is still awesome. also Mat-Pat has some neat theories on the show, if you don't mind some manga spoilers, which aren't all that spoiler-y at this point.
This season has been really great and that last episode was amazing. Basically every warning Deku has ever been giving about crippling himself with his own power just came and slapped him in the face.
also, damn Toga is scary when animated

Saying he doesn't see himself as evil is a cop-out. Most villains, even the ones willing to commit genocide, still think of themselves as being on the right side.
It's a rare villain who actually sees themselves as being Evil, but they are out there.
Actually one of my favorite comic book scenes involves Dr. Sivana on a tropical island beach wearing a Hawaiian shirt and straw hat, coming to an epiphany of "You know what....I'm an Evil Genius....and I'm ok with that"
I failed to word my argument properly.
I would list Stain's actions as evil, but since he is in his eyes, being unselfish, and trying to do the best for everyone, I believe that a good case for his alignment under pathfinder rules could be set at NG.
I also don't believe that the alignment system is a good argument for objective morality.
Beyond that though, yeah, season 3 is really, really awesome, and All-Might's reaction to this has shown me that what I thought he looked like pissed, was really his annoyed and concerned face.
Can we just say that season 3 is AMAZING and Allmight was outstanding in the latest episode. I CANNOT WAIT FOR SATURDAY!
Edit: I thought that the tournament arc would be a waste of time, but we saw great character development, which was totally needed before the events this season. 10/10 great planning and foresight.
I don't know.
I've always seen alignments as more of what the people think of themselves, rather than what others think.
He caries out his own justice, and whatnot, and probably views it as his "task or fate" to have to do it.
I don't really think that objectively he was "right" or that he was "good" but if he views himself as in the right and working to improve others lives, then he would ostensibly be on the "good" side of the alignment block.
Also, I understand that Alignment is one of the most hotly debated topics of the RPG world, so YMMV.
All Might reminds me of the old 60s comic book compilations that my library used to have when I was growing up. I daresay he's a good object of study for people who want to RP good Paladins.
And Bakugou makes for a good example of a heroic Chaotic Neutral character.
SO... I just realized, if we want to assign alignments to the characters in this show, Stain would probably be best defined as NG!
He believes himself to be doing the best thing for society as a whole, the very essence of the "good" side of the scale of alignment, but he distrusts the Law, so he can't be Lawful, but doesn't want anarchy, so he isn't Chaotic. Rather, his actions, while extreme, are what he considers to be the best thing for society as a whole, and he is willing to throw away his own reputation to achieve a better future. That's dedication to a cause, and can be best defined under the alignment system as NG.
I don't think I've ever seen a more compelling villain one could define as "good"
More! More time wasting! She's pretty good as far as individual reactors go, but I think I still like the renegades just a bit better, but each of them is a good reactor and they do it as a group, so it's not even a fair comparison...
First off, nice getting that alias...
Second of all...
Of COURSE!
It is the second best anime I've ever seen, the top spot being reserved for One Punch Man of course. (YMMV) (I won't bring it up again here, as this thread is devoted to MHA not OPM)
I don't know if anyone likes watching reaction videos here or not, but I know a decent video reaction group currently working their way through the series. Can provide links if any are interested.
I also thought this episode was a bit weak for the season. It's actually fairly standard fare for the show though.
** spoiler omitted **
But yeah, this episode isn't going on my "top five" list for this season.
I don't like making assumptions either, I just also dislike making normal ponies out to be incompetent, which, has thankfully become less of a thing since season 4. So, if I have to assume something, I prefer making an assumption that makes ponies look competent.
On your Second point: Perhaps a new infestation has occurred?
It would be possible, as there were technically two infestations in the original episode (Thanks Fluttershy...) This is just a plausible explanation, and neither proves nor disproves the complaint.
Also, can happen in real life: Eradicate mice one year, get more the next.

The sphinx can cast spells? Don't get me wrong, I think that every living thing in Equestria has some sort of magic, but actually casting spells is sort of limited to unicorns, as well as other creatures that have a horn, such as the changelings (hence why I hated how their new day-glo forms had some of them without a horn, as I mentioned before). If the sphinx is casting spells without a horn, that catapults it up to the ranks of creatures like Discord, or at least the Sirens. But if this is "a" sphinx and not a unique creature... *sighs* And we can't even write this off as folklore, because the spell is still active. Doggone it.
The sirens aren't technically unique, as there are three of them. Two sphinxes would be enough to earn the moniker "a sphinx". Just a thought. It is possible to be rare without being unique.
I also thought this episode was a bit weak for the season. It's actually fairly standard fare for the show though.
Triple Threat was a spike episode so... yeah didn't care for it that much. Better than most spike episodes but still a low point of the 2nd half so far.
I'm odd, but, I've enjoyed nearly every spike episode. (princess spike is probably the only one I don't enjoy, but I still don't hate it...)
His character appeals to me, probably because he's the most flawed out of all of the main cast, but his strong points, are, well, strong, and also, very honorable.
Also, he does learn from his lessons, and you don't really see him making the same mistakes again. yes, they are all caused by shortsightedness, but, on the other hand, they are all caused by a different form of shortsightedness.
I realize this is an unpopular view, but I still like Spike.
Some thoughts on The Perfect Pear (spoiler'd for those that haven't seen it yet):
** spoiler omitted **...
I agree on everything, except:
Spoiler:
breakfast for dinner is actually a saying here in Ohio, so it's relatively true to AJ's form.
But yeah... This was the pinnacle of episodes so far.
Some thoughts of my own:
Spoiler:
This was TONS better than Romeo and Juliet. For starters, you actually see a love story, not some whirlwind romance between two kids who have no real idea what love is, but are lusting after each other, but rather you see years go by, and they get closer and closer before their marriage. Also, they were smart enough to not kill themselves after a familial confrontation like one young couple.
MY ONLY ISSUE is that Misses Cake calls it romantic to elope. Pragmatic? Yes. Romantic? A little, but it WAS NOT the most romantic thing they had done.
END RANT. Sorry.
In other words, this episode took it's source material and improved it!
Some thoughts on Discordant Harmony (spoiler'd because I'm considerate like that):
** spoiler omitted **...
Er... On your third point...
Spoiler:
the show writers came up with the name. Cherrilee says it first. (S2E1)
Also, why doesn't a unique entity need a taxonomic classification? The point of the taxonomic classification is to show that there is a biological difference and to name said biological difference. So it doesn't matter how many are in the taxonomic classification as long as it can be shown that the new classification is necessary.
Equestria Daily just dropped a bunch of screenshots for the movie.

So, anyhow, It isn't like I'm a big cat-folk person, but I love pandering when it isn't overly heavy handed, or when it's done cleverly (as I felt was the case in episode 100). So to me, having a character in the show validate some pony-famous individual's non-pony OC if done subtly is going to be great! I doubt we will ever see a hippogriff, but I'd much rather see the cat/dog people anyway.
Equestria Daily just dropped a bunch of screenshots for the movie.
WHOA, WHOA, WHOA...
screenshots:
Is... THAT a CAT PERSON?
IS THAT A CAT PERSON??
Why does that feel like such a nod towards the community (and especially Doctor Wolf?) I mean... It almost DEFINITELY looks like some-ones non-pony OC!
It's official, the movie has a PG rating. Not that I am surprised considering how rare G is and of course it wouldn't be PG-13. Though that would be interesting if it was:)
Wouldn't any amount of combat give this a PG rating?
Idk, Starlight was a truly devious villain, and I like that they redeemed her, but I thought it may have been a little rushed.
I agree that season's 5 and 6 had some bad episodes, but they had some amazing episodes as well, (times, they are a changling, while awkward at times, has a great moral, and some great character building, and slice of life is the episode that truly pulled me into the fandom; just to name a few)
Took a look at the Season 7 part 2 teaser trailer.
Everything I have seen of season 7 has been, IMO, a huge step up story-wise, from season 6, and I personal thought that season 6 was better than most of the first three seasons (season 5 probably has some of my favorite episodes still, but season 7 has some strong contenders)
I do not doubt at all that what awaits us in the second half of the season may be some of the best material they have ever produced.
Personal head cannon is that the sirens and the wendigos are one and the same. The backstories are only marginally different, and that can easily be attributed to history becoming legend.
Wait wait wait...the portal in the base of the ruined statue still works? I was sort of under the impression that when "Midnight" Sparkle smashed it, and then when we saw magic leaking from the ruined upper portion, that the portal itself was no longer active, or at least damaged. But it seems to be working just fine now...
Umm... you mention the solution to the continuity problem later. Pony-Twi comes through the portal later on in that friendship games, so it was never broken, just damaged.
Some thoughts on the second Equestria Girls special (spoilered just to be safe):
** spoiler omitted **...
You raise some good questions, and some good points.
Some are answered in the third one, which was the best one IMO. I thought all three were better than any of the movies though, and I didn't especially hate the movies like some bronies. (Not naming any names, I just got here and haven't looked over any of the pages to see what others thought of them.)
