I tried searching the site to no avail. But I have a simple question: How many types of performance does the skill cover?

Slightly less simple question: If each iteration of performance skill only covers one type of performance, how do feats interact with that? Does each feat need to be taken separately for each type of performance? How does one (player or GM) keep track of all of this?

Or is this all a case of GM adjudication?

...did you save the family in the burning farm house?

...you incinerated the priceless manuscript with your fireball!

I have been thinking forward to the next campaign that I run. I want things to matter. I know that building a compelling home brew story, or even running a bought adventure path is the first step. But I would like to see other people's ideas of how to take the small steps. How to make combat about more than just rocket tag, stat blocs and go-to feat combos.

So let see your ideas. They don't even have to be original. Take from books, shows, movies or even real life if you want. It goes without saying that this could be a good exercise and/or tool for everyone. And also, it's a subject that is very rules-agnostic.

So, just complete the sentence "So you won the fight, but..." with your own takes. I look forward to reading them!

Does a dragon, or any other creature with a breath Weapon, know how long until it's next available usage of that breath Weapon?

Are there any tell-tale signs that such creatures are ready and able to use this power?

Do these creatures always begin an encounter able to breathe?

I have a mini that I am currently painting, and I like to stat up my painted work. I think she is meant to be a Druid, but that isn't carved in stone.
She has a fire spell effect in one hand to and carries a natural looking wooden staff in the other. But what I am trying to explain to myself is the fact that she has seven belt pouches as well as a largish satchel/purse thingy.
Any creative ideas?

I read about what is a class ability, I think. But it may have been a feat. It provided characters that were in mental contact with each other serious buffs. Namely that one couldn't be flanked unless all were flanked, or flat-footed unless all were, or surprised unless all were.

I thought it was part of one of Dreamscarred Press' psychic classes, but now I can't find it. Can anyone give me some direction here?

I recently started playing in a new campaign. I am playing a human slayer and am getting ready to progress to 2nd level. I paid the feat tax for archery already, having taken Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot. The natural thing to do is to take Rapid Shot as my 2nd level talent (Ranger Combat Style) and continue the archery path.

But there is a twist to things. The party also includes a (goblin) rogue who could really use a flanking partner. I know how to get to Snap Shot and Point Blank Master by 6th level, but that doesn't help my little buddy in the meantime.

Also, my GM has ruled two things in favor of character versatility: I can delay deciding on Stygian Slayer until level 4 as long as I eschew medium armor and shields before that point; and by taking the human favored class bonus up until that point, I will be allowed to take 2 Ranger style feats at 6th level (the normal one allowed and the the one gained 1/6th per level).

So I could potentially use regular feats to become a competent archer and style feats to grab the basics for two-weapon fighting (or another style path). This would probably entail me forgoing the Stygian Slayer just to retain the 4th level talent (probably needed for Rogues Finesse, if nothing else).

I am open to any ideas. Thrill me hive-mind, thrill me!

A little background:
The campaign that I am currently running is something that I more or less fell into. I hadn't played any RPG in about 10 years, but I had some people who wanted to play and we just jumped into it. I hadn't even played PF before, only that other game. So there was a bit of a learning curve.

But I am back. I am ready to start again, this time with a better grasp of the rules, the possibilities and the resources available.

Hello, Resource! Glad to meet you! :)

Some of the things that I have decided on, and some of the things that I have decided to exclude are not really negotiable issues. Other things I have a more open mind about.

But, anyway, this is going to be my test-bed for my ideas about this next campaign. I would appreciate input from both the player and GM perspectives.

So to start, some mechanical issues:

I am going to be using the Action Economy rules from Unchained. Probably the Rogue and Barbarian class rules from there as well.
I am thinking about including the Stamina rules, but I am wary of the additional level of complication. Perspectives on this from those with experience with that sub-system would be especially welcome. I am generally in favor of de-nerfing martial classes, but is the additional bookkeeping worthwhile?

I am saying no to Mythic and Occult Adventures material. I would rather run a gestalt game than mythic if I felt the power level needed to be increased and occult is, from everything I have read, a bit of a mess (and doesn't seem to bring anything new to the mix).

There is a document out there, which I am not sure that I should link to here. It describes a series of feat consolidations, elimination of some feats in favor of them being abilities accessible to anyone and some other minor tweaks. See above about de-nerfication. Does anyone with experience with this have any recommendations? I kind of like it.

Some very basic stuff:
PC's get full HP every level. Probably Animal Companions (and Special Mounts, etc.) as well (for HD).
Classes that do not get at least 4 skill points per level get 4. I may boost high-skill classes; thoughts?
Perception and Sense Motive are class skills for everyone.

That seems to be enough to start with. Thanks in advance for your input!

Can a Slayer take the favored class bonus of 1/6 of a talent from level 1 through 6 and gain an extra Ranger combat style feat at level 6?

My thought is that in that specific instance the answer should be yes.
