Ghik move and launches an icicle at the frog ranged touch: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 3 - 4 = 8
Unless you have a feat (precise strike) you will get a penalty of -4 for firing into a combat with additional penalties for cover if your allies get in the way. Fortunately the icicle attack only has to tag the target not get past its armour too

Ghik moves into the room and blast the one with the yellower tusks with ice ranged touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Ghik too obviously hasnt properly woken up yet Taken the opportunity to take read magic i/o purify food and drink Have not recast ice armor Merisiel striking before the trogs act is always a good plan

Ghik is almost out of healing but I am inclined to adopt an explore until we are not at full health and then reconsider our options. I do have plenty of rebuke deaths if people do drop below zero but only one other cure spell and no channels

Ghik sweeps the room with detect magic Almost out of spells. I think the wizard is too. I can keep the group alive in the next fight but if they get hurt again may have to suggest coming back tomorrow. No point having to launch a rescue party for the rescue party. Especially as we have seen no sign of this missing pathfinder coming this way

Ghik holds his hand to air above and a final cloud forms channel positive: 1d6 ⇒ 2 As a positive energy channelling cleric he gets to turn any spell prepared into a cure of the appropriate level (with the exception of domain spells which stay the same. Ghiks domain spell was cure light wounds as he has healing domain) however used channel as Raz's pup would also have taken damage

Good plan Ezrens Arcane bond featue allows him to cast one spell from his spell book as if he had prepared it once a day. Shirt rerolls are available in PFS scenarios. (in a level 1 party improving the chances of your one alchemists fire actually hitting the swarm is a good thing)

Ghik has nothing for dealing with swarms probably should have packed a couple of flasks acid. Beat a retreat through the door and close it behind us. Leave tower and sell the magical scrolls then pay for some healing and buy acid flasks with what’s left?

Ghik raises his hand upwards and calls out ”By Pharasma’s grace” A barely perceptible spiral of cloud forms above the party and an equally faint rain shower falls healing everyone for channel positive energy to heal: 1d6 ⇒ 6 Was sure after all that description I was going to roll a 1 on the channel. Happy to do that again but may go with using up my 2 cure light wounds spells first. I’d like to keep one of my two remaking channels available for emergencies if possible Edit having seen the damage left nothing for it but another channel probably two Ghik channels another rain cloud 1d6 ⇒ 4 Then casts a cure on Raz cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

In a face to face game we would have stopped and given you your options. However in PBP the more usual convention is that turns go off in post order as 99 times out of 100 it makes no difference. Trust us to find the one time in a hundred it does in your first game. Given those rolls you are staggered I suggest your move action is to step away "Keep that one busy Val! Look after yourself Meri!" In my previous post is a link on what happens when you are on 0 hp

Merisiel best bet is to stab the red one Ezren just blasted (if its still standing) and then back up between Raz and Ezren so Merisiel is not stood next to one. Other option is to try use acrobatics to get behind one but strong chance that will open you up to two attacks and if one hits then good chance Merisiel drops where she is taking fire damage from both Ezren Sadly Ghiks ice armour tends to melt when fire damageis being dished out GM as both are equally close to Ezren I have chosen red as the one he hit with magic missile

"Undead abominations feel the wrath of PHARASMA!" Ghik shows the tattoo on his palm to the burning foes channel to harm undead: 1d6 ⇒ 4 And a downpour of holy water drenches the undead DC 11 will for half damage

Looks like we have a door drill. Merisiel checks for traps and unlocks, Ghik and Ezren sense for anything magical. Valeros rushes in first closely followed by Raz? Ghik tries to sense any magic ahead

"Careful. If he was running this way there must be friends of stinky ones on the other side of this door" whispers Ghik "Unless..." He cocks his head to one side and looks questioningly at Merisiel No she will have found any keys they may have had thinks Ghik and doesn't complete his question as to whether they had keys

And there I was about to role a dice to determine which door to take Ghik notes Ezren's trying to sense what is beyond the doors and thinks he has some means of scouting ahead of his own. He casts a spell to try and look beyond the left/southern door first. He will repeat on the other door unless Ezren beats him to it spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
In case there are magic items beyond the door If our combined senses come up with nothing Ghik will flip a coin coin flip 1 heads southern door 2 tails northern door: 1d2 ⇒ 1

Ghik smiles in acknowledgement at Valeros and thinks of teasing him Well apart from those three behind you - No if I teach him to ignore my teasing warnings he will take no notice of a genuine one "Let us see if this spider has fed on any humanoids lately or if we can learn of other denizens of this tower" perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Old timers like myself also like to have some one of decent ac right at the back in case we get jumped from behind (it happens so rarely in PFS that it is often overlooked) can move my token Just going to leave the ice armor spell description here for reference Ice armor text (Inner sea gods pg 235): ICE ARMOR (GOZREH)
School transmutation [cold, water]; Level cleric 1, druid 1 Casting Time 1 minute Components V, S, F (5 gallons of water) Range 0 ft.; see text Effect a suit of armor made of ice Duration 1 hour/level or until destroyed Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no You create a suit of armor made of ice. While cold to the touch, it does not harm the wearer, especially if worn over normal clothing (though it can hasten the effects of exposure in cold environments). It offers the same protection as a breastplate, except it has hardness 0 and 30 hit points. If the intended wearer is immersed in water when you cast this spell, you may form the armor around the wearer (who may be you); otherwise the wearer must don the armor normally. Attacks against the wearer that create heat or fire degrade the armor, reducing its armor bonus by 1 for every 5 points of fire damage the wearer takes; when the armor’s bonus to AC reaches 0, the armor is destroyed and the spell ends. Because the ice is slightly buoyant, the wearer gains a +2 circumstance bonus on Swim checks, except when swimming downward. Druids can wear ice armor without penalty.

Ghik put the barrel down and removes the lid and gets in. Pasties the rope and grappling hook to Merisiel and asks her to put some knots in it and attach grapple hook to rope Casts create water at least three times until water fills the rest of the barrel. Then cats ice armour on himself with head poking out the top of the barrel. Gets out of the barrel wearing a breastplate of ice If barrel full after only two casts will get out and create armour in the barrel and put it on Takes a minute or two

"This one" He draws the other "is for when some need reminding they will face the lady's judgement" he offers the blade for Merisiel's inspection Later in the office "Are you saying this Balenor Forsend is an Undine like myself? A human sized man dressed in priestly vestments enters. He carries a barrel on his back by means of a silk rope harness. He also carries a shield with a spiral design caved into its wooden surface. Two daggers are tucked into his belt.If he is actually human he has been covered in blue body paint but his manner and garb suggest that is not the case. He raises his hand in greeting to the gnome and it displays the same spiral design as on his shield on his palm. "I am Ghik Vrizei servant of the Lady of Graves. it appears our paths cross this day"

Position of party healer has been filled 9251-36 (yes started playing pathfinder that long ago) (there is some overlap between core campaign and actual campaign numbers so only about 26 on standard characters.) |
