Let me answer some questions.

Made it to the lodge before my game dissolved. I guess not even halfway through book one.

Gaandik is from the area, and happens to be passing through. He is not from Hedren, but a nearby town.

He is the ultimate team player and quite heroic. He helps other out of pride more than altruism, but he still does the good things.

His voice is deep and resonant like a horn.

His plans are classic buff, heal for the party with intimidate for debuff. Probably going plate armor and channel shield for defense. His job is to get hit some and take pressure off the tanks.

Because I like characters to have foibles, Gaandik is inherently clumsy and has slow reflexes. He refuses to use missile weapons because he almost lost an ear in an 'archery incident'.

Currently I am in 4 PbPs and DMing 3. Others have become inactive I play in.

And no, I am not on the list as of yet.

I agree that the 15 point buy is my preferred.

That said, here is my clumsy cleric.

Gaandik is a team player, and from the local area but not Hedren.

DM Tarfugal wrote:

I made a human cleric (merciful healer) doctor as a pure support in a kingmaker campaign. His endurance and diehard feats saved him from many possible deaths. He was not built to be offensive at all, but sometimes I played him that way. He finally died after our succubus leader decided to give alchemist fire to a Will O Wisp worshiping tribe for consumption purposes. Our dm immortalized him in our kingdom (statue) because of the fearless actions of his character that struck against how he was mechanically built. ;) That guy could really soak up damage though.

I made an archery cleric, and as soon as his bow started to get useful with feats around level 5, his clerical spells made his bow almost forgotten.

I changed to Erastil and chose animal(feather) and plant(growth) as my domains. Gaandik will worship Erastil and never use a bow. I dropped his dexterity as low as I could to make him clumsy.

Gaandik was stranded just after second level, but would like to try again. He is the ultimate support cleric. He won't even pretend to be good in melee, just possibly buy a tower shield and stand in the way.

May go for the saving shield feat too later.

Here is my cleric. He adds intimidation to the mix. But I play him to keep all the party up through combat and carefully ration the healing.

Here is my submission.

Will switch to a paladin if martial power needed.

Gaandik, the Hedren years.

DM:
Gaandik set out to prove himself and make his family and people proud, but then he met her. The pale, beautiful women was an amazing creature with faerie blood. Her magic was arcane while his was divine. They quickly fell in love and set out for the northern lands where the winds were biting and the Northern Lights exciting. Their three months together were the best of his life. But one day, Gaandik left to forage for food, and when he returned to the camp she was staked to a tree with nails of a strange magick nature. Devastated, he stopped at Hedren, the closest village and lived a sad year of misery getting over his Lilthina's death. He helped by healing others and throwing himself into chores of exhausting manual labor, but then the snow came early...

I do have +6 on UMD checks. I'd like it to be higher, but there's little I can do about it.

CLW should be on your base spell list :-)

Gaandik smiled as they made preparations to open one of the chests.

He spoke to Indras: "Your instincts about the necromancer were dead on. You would make a good disciple of Iomedae. Thought of following the Inheritor?"

He mentions to the blacksmith: "How about this suit of scale mail in trade?"

Gaandik hands the blacksmith a serviceable suit of armor. Most of the stains have been recently cleaned.

Gaandik puts the surviving bandits in the custody of the town. He reunites the lady with her bodyguard.
"The cold iron really helped against these fey creatures--your lady is back safely thanks to your information."

"Thank you for the flaming hands, Indras. I am confident this new armor will protect me much better."

He speaks to all:
"Shall we rest and be ready to continue in the morning?"

Gaandik looks at Roknar with some confusion. "Can you explain in more detail what you do? Did it have any connection with the disease we saw back at the lodge?"

Gaandik looks to the inquisitor: "Those of us with the power of the Gods have the ability to see and know all that is divine. I heard you spoke the words of the Hunter back in the tavern. Mayhaps you can only do it a time of his chosing?"

Gaandik looks at Stigr with hope. It as if communing with the Gods is something he would like to see happen more often.

Aasimar [hp = 10/10; AC15/T8/ff15; F +3; R-2; W+6 CMD 9] Cleric 1 Channel Energy (7/7) Intimidate Swift(1/1) INIT -2

Gaandik is so sure of himself, he did not study much fancy religious book learning. Being divine and all, he felt no need to hit the books.

The celestial cleric looks at the bandit who has proposed to be a necromancer, and it is if his gaze has pierced the man's very soul.

He decides to see what the Prophet has to say on this manner.

"Well, Prophet and Seer of all Divine....What do say about this surprising turn of events? Is redemption in the cards for this one?"

Grayson, sorry to see you go. Best of luck.

Gaandik explains:
"Your band has already paid for its banditry. There is no further debt of justice that needs to be paid in my judgment."

He points to Stigr:
"This prophet is from around here and in the business of granting redemption. Between the two of us, I am sure our word will carry weight in town. Stigr will decide if you are truly deserving of redemption. But I would advise you to be sincere. The disease visited on you should show you the fruits of evil."

Gaandik is saddened by the plight of the bandits.

He looks at the leader, Roknar, and shakes his head:
"Evil deeds have bad consequences. The power of disease is not beyond divine magic."

Gaandik quickly enters the sickroom to do what must be done and then rejoins the others for the trek back to town.

He speaks to Roknar earnestly: "I think your group has suffered enough retribution for its acts. I do not think I need to pass further judgment. I would recommend you ask for redemption, and do it seriously. The sword of judgment can cut swiftly and deeply."

"Luckily you have a disciple of Iomedae here. Justice is my specialty. I already fought one bandit twice today, Indras and I do not want to fight this group again."

He looks at the leader: "Banditry comes with penalties. You will march as a group back to Hedren, carrying those two chests. If you wish, I can dispense summary justice on the spot for anyone not able to travel."
