Some ways Shift-tide could help Spurtz at the GM's discretion: Wiping frost off, taking off his cold weather gear and putting it on Spurtz, shaking Spurtz to warm him up and shake frost off, etc. Let me know if you want me to roll a skill check for it or if he can't help Spurtz. If he can't help, Shift-tide will just watch and hope for the best for his ally. This is to try and give Spurtz an extra recovery flat check immediately, per https://2e.aonprd.com/Conditions.aspx?ID=86
Out of combat, Shift-tide can heal himself 1d8 per turn and has the cold resistance 1, so I think he'll be alright until I eventually succeed on the recovery check, but if you want me to keep rolling until I actually do so, let me know lol He also has diehard as long as his spark is in his scar Edit: Saw your gameplay post after hitting send, have no problem staying in rounds until everyone's ok. Is there any action I can take to aid himself and/or the others with persistent damage?
Dont think Shift-tide's HP is accurate? It would be 5/19 after the hit if he didn't have the 1 Cold Resistance and didn't heal. If my math is right he should have 10 HP (19 start - 6 Piercing - 7 Cold + 4 healed). Unless Rimesnap was below half HP before that hit, in which case Shift-tide did 2 more damage and thus healed 1 more, which would put him at 11/19 HP. Unless I'm missing something, in which case my bad.
THE PLANAR ENGINEER: Shift-tide returns the lieutenant's salute. "You may stand at ease in my presence. I am Shift-tide of the Arcadian Ocean. Well-met. I don't know much about portals, beyond an awareness of some ancient Azlanti ruins and the alghollthu attempts at opening portals to the Plane of Water and...darker realms. I would love to learn more." Nature: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 THE DWARVEN MACHINIST: "There's not much gunpowder in the ocean. How does it work?" Untrained Crafting: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 THE COVEN MATRIARCH: Shift-tide approaches the scowling Winter-Witch, and performs the deepest bow he's done so far. "Coven Matriarch Szvetneera of the Wintercrux Sisterhood, lone adult surrounded by children, it is as much of a relief to meet you as it is an honor. While I understand the impulse towards 'innovation' this..
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
I was planning on playing Shift-tide as being extremely verbose and respectful when talking to Anastasia, but even distrusting her he is still trained in Diplomacy and on a mission, so he's still gonna be diplomatic. Just probably going to be less overtly, dramatically respectful than he would've been. Hopefully what I mean came through in my first question lol
Not usually one to complain, but making a crit fail knowledge check say, essentially, "You don't trust the primary NPC for this scenario" at the start is a strange choice. I was fully prepared to roleplay one way, and now idk, guess I have to rethink. Shift-tide doesn't have any experience on the surface world so I didn't give him Society, but because of the crit fail rules, instead of not knowing anything he instead has strong opinions that the NPC we are here to meet is a fraud who is secretly weakening her own nation? Again, strange choice.
Got my pdf, and I am loving the lore and plot stuff. I was hoping for some mech-related or kaiju killing feats and/or class features, but while there's not anything along those lines, the articles in the back are still great, with tons of info that will help me run this campaign. Also, as I was flipping through I noticed the number 13 popping up a few times, including the title of one of the major sections. Then I realized that this is the 13th Starfinder AP. I see you, Starfinder team.
On page 148 of Starfinder Enhanced, the table says that Olfaction Core uses the "nose" system (which afaik doesn't get used by anything else previously printed) while the item description itself says it uses the brain augmentation slot. Would love clarification about which is accurate. As a GM, for my games I'd rule it was the nose because I think there should be a couple more augmentation systems than there already is, but as a player (specifically in Society play) I would love an official ruling.
Praapses will begin making minor repairs, but not before taking a moment to pay his respects to both the living and the deceased klikharp. I'm sorry, little one, both for your mistreatment, and for your friend. Survival check to aid in calming the klikharp: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 Engineering check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Hello, wonderful customer service people! I was trying to immediately purchase the Starship Operations Manual and Starfinder Adventure Path #32: The Starstone Blockade (The Devastation Ark 2 of 3) using the Gencon discount, and accidentally added them to my sidecart. Twice. Oops. I was able to purchase them normally, but they are of course still in my sidecart. Could you please empry my sidecart of everything in it, including both copies of SOM, and DA2, as well as the single copy of DA3, the Starstone Blockade? Thanks in advance!

In a roundabout kind of way, we can definitely do that; if you go ahead and sign up for the subscription, you can just reply here once you've done so and I'll cancel the FFoD book from the order manually. Let me know if you'd like to go that route, or have more questions! Hey, just checking in. I just got an email that my order was generated including FFoD book 6. I realize in hindsight I should have waited until I confirmed my wishes here and got another response before I signed back up for the subscription. If there is nothing that can be done it is not the end of the world, but if there is any way it is possible to still change my order it would be greatly appreciated. The order number is #36442649

While I was excited for a campaign set entirely in Absalom, I knew none of my players would want to be cops, and I didn't really want to GM a group of cops, either. I'm heartened to hear those elements can be easily replaced, and that the option to do so is receiving support through the Player's Guide. I respect the admission that you didn't listen to concerns from staff, but hope it means that moving forward you will listen more closely to those voices. I have a level of respect for Paizo that I do not hold for many companies, and not listening to staff's ethical/political concerns would put that at risk. That said, this type of genuine apology and clear plan about how to move forward goes a long way towards maintaining that respect. I hope to see this level of accountability and dedication to justice continue even as stories of protests and the importance of Black Lives fade from media attention. |
