Radiant steps into the fog and is lost from sight in the thick churling mess. The sounds of battle continue to echo forth from the hall. Radiant: You can't see anything distinct further than 5' in front of you, which is just more fog right now.

Radiant's Knowledge (nature):

Bursting into the room, Leil throws the tanglefoot bag which quickly cements the eastern construct to the floor. Asami and Jory follow shortly after firing off a volley of arrows, lodging two deep into the western construct. They were flat-footed, so easier to hit, but not by much. Tanglefoot duration: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5 rounds Sparks of electricity flare from their weapons as they activate completely. The western one, obviously heavily damaged now, dims briefly as the metal plating restitches itself around the arrows, then takes a step towards the bow wielding duo. The eastern one breaks free from the gooey mess with ease, but appears to still be moving rather slowly. It moves rather clumsily towards Leil after bursting from the tanglefoot residue. Party's up! Tahonikepsu leads you to the adjoining hall where a 5-foot-diameter crystal hovers a short distance off the floor. The stone hums in response to her chant in Ancient Osiriani; the glyphs on the west door fade and the stone cracks open and melts into the surrounding walls. Beyond, a hallway illuminated with magical light extends 30 feet and then descends down a twisting flight of stairs. The Diamond Sage thanks you again, and welcomes you to rest with the acolytes outside whenever you need before departing for her other duties and responsibilities. At this time you can prepare any spells you fell will be necessary. After some preparations and spell-casting, and a 50-foot descent, you arrive at the Halls of Study. Unless otherwise noted, the floors and walls here are smooth stone. The rooms and halls have a 20-foot ceiling, and magical illumination provides dim light. Fragrant scents float on the warm breeze that circulates around this columned chamber. Jasmine, grapevines, mandrakes, and anemones grow from pots hanging around the room, vibrant and fruitful despite the lack of sunlight. Sycamore saplings fill the alcoves, and a phosphorescent moss has overgrown some of the walls and ceiling. A great seal bearing a written inscription covers the center of the floor. The halls to the east and south seem to be filled with fog.

Which item sheet are these all going onto? It's easier for me to just say ITS#2 - 1721 gp
than to list everything separately. And I don't think I've ever noticed how cheap spellcasting services were. Three hours of mage armor for 30 gp. That's cheaper than a wand, which is 15 gp per hour. Though you usually only need one charge per most scenarios at these levels with the wand, and spellcasting services are only available in large settlements, so I guess it all depends, too.

"I am not sure of the extent of the library. The sage who bore the amethyst jewel was responsible for the archive, along with several assistants. The Diamond sage had other responsibilities. i do know the archive is divided into three levels. Librarians cataloged acquisitions on the first floor, repaired them on the next, and stored them in the library below, which is accessible only through a special gateway. The portal requires a sage jewel to activate, and should activate when I unseal the complex. If not, await my return."

Spell casting services are Caster level × spell level × 10 gp. So a CL3 mage armor would be 30 gp. The various healing the party up to full would depend on which spells your purchasing. A CL1 cure light wounds would be 10 gp, while a minimum level cure moderate wounds (CL 3), would be 60 gp. The party is in need of the following healing at the moment: Asami is down 13 HP, Jory is down 38 HP, and Leil is down 10 HP. I can roll the d8's, or you guys can. It doesn't matter to me. Since you're paying for each spell separately, it'd probably be best if you did it so you could do it all in one post. If you're just going for full HP, though, I can roll that out and let you know how much it is. Just let me know which cure spells you want to purchase. I need the ITS# that the arrows and CLW potions are going on, as well, so I can put it on the chronicle sheet.

"Well, it's the Sanctum of the Sages. Surely you've heard of it. You could say it's the fortress retreat of the Jeweled Sages. Look! We're almost there!" At first, you see nothing unusual, but approaching within about a hundred feet of a rock wall, the wall itself shimmers and reveals a beautifully engraved facade and door carved directly in to the mountain face. Outside you see a small tent community, where a handful of acolytes meditate and others seem to debating the finer points of Nethys's holy text, the Book of Magic. Your guides bring you in through the door into a marble room. Ornate rugs and a small pile of sitting pillows create a small soft space in the room, where a finely dressed Garundi woman sits by a fountain. She looks up from a puzzle of broken pottery fragments as your two escorts announce you. After thanking and dismissing Garai and Helena, she beckons you forward, "Welcome, Pathfinders. You and your venture-captain have my thanks for agreeing to aid us. I am Tahonikepsu, the Diamond Sage." After introducing herself, she requests your letter of introduction. She reads it carefully before again addressing you, "The venture-captain has great faith in you. I shall extend the same courtesy." She gestures for everyone to sit before continuing, "My sage jewel grants me some knowledge of this complex, and my own research has confirmed many of those memories. That said, the site's long abandonment has made exploration difficult. I believe the next most productive step would be to reopen the archive, whose interior has defied our attempts at divinations. On the lowest floor of the library reside the written history of our order and a crystalline artifact attuned to the sage jewels. I would like you to explore the area, inventory the contents, and report your findings to me. Please be careful; these halls contain delicate, irreplaceable cultural treasures and writings."

I'm sorry to hear that. I hate it when characters die, but it does happen. So I know Azeban's situation, what about Kyroden? He probably doesn't have the PP needed for a raise dead, but he has 2527 gp towards it now. What's your plan for Kyroden? You're out right now, so I won't get an answer until at least Monday, but I'd like to know your plan so I can adjust accordingly. I'm guessing Karos is going to wait for the PC rescue team, then, as well? If Asami, Jory, and Leil are able to defeat the two constructs, then that's 5 PP saved. Or maybe it's three more bodies to add to the room. Right now Karos is still alive, just unconscious and stable at -10 HP.

Back at the lodge, Jory goes into preparations for the upcoming battle. You're correct about the wand. With Asami's Warrior of the Light archetype, she loses her spell-casting ability. So unless somebody has UMD, it's just a fragile stick right now. If Karos spends the 5 PP to have his body recovered and then some gold or PP to get healed, he could use the wand. @Jory - just let me know how much you spend (and on which ITS#) in the Discussion tab so I can alter your chronicle accordingly. It looks like Jory's set on going back into the fight. What about Asami and Leil?

Okay, we have two characters dead (Azeban and Kyroden), and Karos is stable but unconscious in the entry hall. Everyone else (Asami, Jory, and Leil) are back at the lodge. Would Azeban and/or Kyroden like to use PP or gold to purchase some services to bring them back to life? Karos could also spend 5 PP to get a rescue team to recover his stable body and bring it back, as well. Healing you up at that point should be a snap if anyone has the ability.

You may be familiar with her as an associate of Amenopheus, longtime friend of the Society and our trusted expert on matters of Ancient Osirion. She has asked the Pathfinder Society to send its best Osirionologists to the Pillars of the Sun to help explore a sealed-off area in the sages’ stronghold there—so I have recommended you." He searches his desk for quill and ink and scribbles out two notes, sealing one with wax imprinted with the Way of the Open Road. "I’ve made arrangements with a caravan to Eto and provided directions from there to the Pillars of the Sun. Once you’ve reached the Pillars, Tahonikepsu has promised a guide to see you the rest of the way. We have maps and sketches from the last expedition if you want to familiarize yourself with the site, and I have also withdrawn several scrolls from our reserves in case your Ancient Osiriani is rusty. Feel free to arrange alternate transport—at your own expense. Don’t try using magic to reach the sanctum directly, though; there’s no telling where you’d end up." The venture-captain rises from his seat to see everyone off, and hands over the two letters. "Show the first letter to the caravan master. The sealed one is your letter of introduction to the Diamond Sage. Remember, the Jeweled Sages are invaluable allies in our exploration of Ancient Osirion, and it’s a privilege to be invited into their sanctum. Treat everything there with care, and help to preserve the region’s past." @Jory - I've enlarged the map and moved you back 10' (due to the two 5' moves). You're fine attacking the one you are now, but the other has total cover from Jory right now. The one you're attacking will probably soon enough, too, if you keep backing up. @Karos - I can do that, yes, but I'm trying to keep a fast pace going, just like I said in the recruitment thread. A lot of GM's want a post a day, minimum. I just want one every two or three days. And I don't think there's been a single round that's occurred completely over a weekend. Most rounds have had 2-3 days to post their actions, with it being longer if it's over a weekend (like this round). You're not losing your turns because you're not posting on the weekends, you're losing your turns because you're not posting. Like this round, it's been going on since Saturday evening, two days, still a day left, but you haven't posted your action yet... @Azeban - I didn't want to come out and say that they made their saves when I said that they were ignoring the shadow demon, but you could probably make a good bet that they did. If you want to redo your action, I'll allow it! Otherwise, fog/wall illusions work just as their counterparts do, with the exception that they're easier to "interact" with. @Asami - fair enough! But saying that Asami's moving back would speed things up if everyone were posting actions so I wouldn't have to wait until the posted deadline. But since that's not happening, completely understandable. I think we can safely assume that Asami's skedaddled by now. I think she can take the run action for 80' each round at this point (I'd have to look up her armor, and that's too much effort... I think she's wearing medium armor). Jory fires another volley of arrows at the other construct, managing to stick two well placed arrows into the grooves between the armored plating as Leil continues to retreat from the disastrous ambush. Okay, I just wanted to make sure that you guys didn't feel that I was somehow railroading you into an unwinnable situation. I'm just trying to run the encounter as written. I will grant you, however, and I've said it before, that this is an unusually tough encounter (notorious, even!) for this sub-tier. One of these fellows would've probably been enough. The upper tier just slaps the advanced template on them, so the fight is actually marginally easier at that tier . And, yeah, the reason I do the rolls privately is because I like my "GM screen". I can be lousy like that, but I think it helps to put some mystery into the fight. Not so much with PbP, because once players figure out what they're fighting, some will have the bestiary ear-marked, but still, it helps. The damage rolls I put in since otherwise they can become lost in the wall of text and forgotten, and we wouldn't want that! Jory's just had some lousy rolls with my dice (a 20 (unconfirmed, naturally) and a 15), while Kyroden seems to be extremely lucky (a 3 and a 5). Just how lucky while surrounded by two of these guys, we'll have to see tonight... @Karos - I need to know if you're trying to pick Leil up, which will put you at a heavy load (I imagine, I... haven't done the math), or reposition her to an adjacent square. I also need to know from Leil if he consents to this action before I can allow it.

It's -3 because there was only 3 electrical damage. The d6 was the electrical damage, so the only way for them to do any electrical damage to you is to roll a 6 on the d6. The d8 is the spear damage, the +5 comes from their strength, feats, weapon bonuses, etc., and the +4 from power attacking. That's why it was only -3. If I rolled a 4, it would've been a -4, instead, or a -5 if I rolled a 5 or 6, and so on. Basically I just added the minus after I saw previewed what the roll ended up being. Pulling the rope out would provoke an Attack of Opportunity (unless you have a handy haversack), as well, and yes, it would be a move action, so are you sure you want to pull the rope out right next to the construct? I'm not really sure what you want to do with the rope, right now, though... generally you use it after you pin your target (grappling) to tie them up (combat maneuver check at -10 against a pinned opponent). So I'm guessing you're just getting the rope ready, and would make a normal grapple check. If you're bothering to get the rope out.
