TODAY IN THE SEVENTH VEIL

Jazzlvraz is eager for an answer from Valkenr but he's not the only one under pressure. Utreth overheard Nyess and Yhora-Gwar secret on "beaver juice". Avary begs Nihimon and Decius to keep quiet. Banesama seeks desperately to trade information. Harad sits down with Stephen and makes sure he knows he's not alone. Fult thinks Vrel is Jatti's father. Lhan vows to get justice for Dakcentury and the baby. Omnichaos takes control by making a bold move which ends with a gruesome conclusion.

FROZEN FINGERS DON'T USE SOAPS... THEY LIVE THEM!

The calculators blindly read the info in the csv files, so oddities like that will followed even if they don't make sense. I suppose it would be possible to sort them out in a reasonable way automatically in the code, but long term that'll likely be fixed in the GW spreadsheets anyways.

Blind reading... weird skill... Fult will tell Phaeros wizards the interest to train in this.

Fult knows well Nightdrifter craft great devices and if they do not work perfectly it is because silly goblins do foolish things with components.

But now, goblins know Nightdrifter and Fult are watching them. <Fult grins>

Frozen Fingers are looking for one or more...

- bards to entertain warriors around bonfire;
- shamans to advice warriors and bless them on battlefield;
- rangers to guide warriors in the wild;
- crafters interested by mines, smelters, armors, weapons, food... well, any good products.
<Fult smacks his forehead>

Fult almost forgot... Warriors, always welcome if they value honor and freedom.

Oooh... and wizards too... for training purposes. <Fult grins>

You do not like to obey or to give orders? You do not want to be judged on your decisions? You hate drama? You don't intend to sell your soul only to be in the powers that be? You already got a life? You like taking your time? You want to pursue your own goals quietly? You are able to have fun without it is at the expense of someone else? You want to remain in control of your destiny? You like reading questions? You wonder why Fult continue asking silly questions? You did not conclude yet Fult is big oaf?

Fult can tell by your nodding that there is something special in you that will interest the citizens of Phaeros. Huh, huh !! Meet Phaerites on The Seventh Veil's website and if you like what you see and hear (Perception Skill DC 5), take a few more minutes to explore the town and discover its sub-communities (Perception Skill DC 12). And if you consider joining The Frozen Fingers, you will make Fult really proud.

You don't really care about nations or governments... but you like to help friends and people around you even if she is an old hag?

You hate wizards and... er... what? oh, this one is not mandatory? Ok, ok... Fult's mistake... you don't need to hate wizards. Sooo... Frozen Fingers are always recruiting persons for fun adventures and... what?!... yes, fun IS mandatory!

Frozen Fingers is located in Phaeros. Go downtown, follow indications for the library. See the bonfire with the crying mages jumping around? <nods> Yup, that's Frozen Fingers company.

<Fult stands up on a table in Jatti's tavern.

HEY, YOU! If your goal is to be part of an organized and powerful structure... to become an elite warrior... to have the best gear ever... to live in a city that dominates all others... to establish your company as a military force that inspire fear in your enemies... to destroy those who oppose your personal goals... to be rich and able to show it... to have power over others... well, go your way, Fult has nothing to say to you.

Those who stay in... if you are willing to share not only your goals but to help others achieve theirs... if you want to be part of a community that built something meaningful... if the company of others is greater than the action you take... if you are willing to give a helping hand without expecting something in return... if you don't like to receive orders and wants the others to respect your freedom... then Frozen Fingers are interested in your application. Others may leave.

Now, serious things... <Fult eyes the few who stayed> JATTI !!! ... BRING YOUR BEST BEER FOR THOSE BRAVE!

My nickle and a half. If one labels oneself as part of a group. Pax as this example. Then you are for all intents and purpose a Pax. Sublabels are pointless at this point because it appears to outsiders as a bs extragrab for more settlements under the subtext of a "different party. Why not have simply dropped the Pax text if all was done in intent of innocence?

@Psvinkle - The PAX text is mandatory (PAX charter, article 5.3) and can't be dropped.

For Fult, having two settlements is not big problem. One big guild with one settlement will have resources X less a cost to maintain the settlement Y and will win a benefit of Z. One guild with 2 medium size settlements will have more resources less a more important cost to maintain the 2 settlements with less people and it is a possibility that the benefit could be more important but nobody can say it now.

The only thing that matters is the autonomy of the settlements. If the benefits of the settlement are reinvested only in its own development, the impact could be minimal and Fult understands that it is what Pax intends to do.

<Fult scratches his head> Well, that is what Fult understood. Fult not really good with politics. Sorry for the interruption, please resume your... er... what you were doing.

Fult likes Kitsune Aou's bounty hunter guild idea.

If Fult was dealing with Deathwatch, Fult would also like to find some kind of... er... judicial services.

Deathwatch could sell diplomat services, send arbiters for conflicts, be judge, jury and executioner, try to resolve mysterious murders, punish stealing merchants...

Fult means... bounty hunting, yes, but hidden under a varnish of justice so not only rangers, but inquisitors, justicars, strange guys to be worried of... Even necromancers. <Fult shivers>

Fult’s name is Fult.
Fult wants to talk.
Have beer and shut up.
Fult comes from North and wants to join a war band.

< A gnome head out from behind Fult > « Our war band, The Frozen Fingers, would be an internal sub-community of The Seventh Veil, a sub-community that have complete autonomy to setup its internal structure, ranks, goals, identity, membership, etc. as long as it remains under TSV umbrella, a sub-community that... »
<Fult bonks the gnome on the head> Quiet, Small One !

Fult says Fult wants to join a war band which follows a handful of principles :
< Fult begins to count on his fingers >
First finger... protection of nation/settlement...
< The gnome adds > « ...martial assistance at war time »
Second finger... protection of people...
< The gnome adds > « ... he means defense-of-opportunity to merchants, gatherers, orphans, nice people...»
Third finger... protection of land...
< The gnome adds > « ... like patrols to prevent outsiders intrusion»
Fourth finger... exploration...
< The gnome adds > « ... aaah ! new worlds, new life, strange civilizations... »
Fifth finger... feasting around bonfire
< The gnome adds > « ...and having great time doing so ! »
<Fult bonks the gnome on the head > Fult will cut your tongue, Gnome !

Fingers order cascades. Warriors can receive demands from TSV councils, or from companies or from members, but petitions never change the order of the fingers of the hand.

Fult sees montly community training, weekly warrior training and daily feasting around bonfires. But other warriors may want to feast more often.

Training is duty.
Good iron is duty.
Honor is duty.

Fult’s principles are :
- Use top quality weapons
- Use varying methods of attack
- Don’t plan everything in detail
- Mourn fallen fighters, allies or enemies
- Bury allies and enemies with their weapons, armor and precious talismans if they fought honorably.
- Outlaws, bandits, thieves and arcane magic users are let for the wolves and their iron will be forged for the company's needs
- If an enemy is hungry, share meal with him. If he is still enemy after the meal, kill him
- Find good battle comrades
- Choose one chief who proved himself
- Be a good merchant
- Don’t demand overpayment
- Consult all members for advice
- Keep camp in order
- Enjoy activities which strengthen the group

Fult not makes differences based on nationalities because Fult not even sure he will see another Kellid before many years. If so, Fult will greatly welcome new Kellids on the block. Druids, shamans, bards, clerics, rangers... anyone honorable can also join.

< The gnome adds > « Ooooh !... and gnome cavaliers on dogs ! Charge ! Woof, woof !»
< Fult bonks the gnome on the head and sighs >

Tribe structure is really really good and really really simple :
Warriors learn to know other warriors in fighting many many battles.
If someone wants to know who is the chief, someone watches the one the others follow.
If someone else wants to be the chief, he runs at the enemies and shouts "Follow me !"
If nobody follows, usually the warrior cannot pretend to leadership a second time.
If everyone follows and it is good battle, then the warrior is maybe future good chief.
If there are two good chiefs and there is argument, two things : one dies or the tribe becomes two tribes. Hopefully with alliance.
Fult never saw bad chief standing more than one battle. If tribe fighters think the chief has bad eye, best for tribe to throw away the bad eye before more die.

Soooo... actual structure not defined because fighters have to fight together and choose chieftain together. Eventually, many tribes of any size and many chieftains who can meet as equals and decide what to do if great dangers. As structure allows tribes to split and joins easily, structure good for small war bands who prefers to fight together and join if events require to.

< The gnome rubs his head gingerly, checking occasionally for blood > « ... yes, yes, but with the intent to become a Charter Company as soon as it is cost beneficial to do so, with the interests of the sub-community and TSV in mind. »
< Fult eyes the gnome and dons slowly his spiked gauntlets>

Fult not aristocrat. Fult not knows strong words to make people follow. Fult not makes words roll in mouth in music like bards do. But Fult wil be proud to fight with people minded like Fult.

Fult said !

< The gnome adds nervously > New members will find the application process here. Be sure to post in your thread that your intent is to join this sub-community. You may also join TSV for the sheer pleasure to enjoy playing in a friendly atmosphere and in a respectful... er... way...
< Forencith the Gnome ponders Fult and dashes across the room cowering from the +2 Spiked Gauntlet of Gnome Silencing >
