DEAD
I see both your points, Vanyel and Tevaga. Maybe our spidey-sense should've been up when we stepped into that scene in the house - been more cautious. And not going in at full capacity hurt - but this is still a tough encounter. I'm not so sure I'd go so far to say it is unfair, but the scales are not in the PCs favor, it seems. I will miss Frunobulax, even though this was only his 3rd scenario, he was a fun character. So, ninja'd by Endless and Vanyel. Consider my comments rendered moot by EndlessForms' explanation - but I shall leave my comments up for posterity's sake. Quick question - can I replay this scenario for credit with a different character? Not sure if character death has an effect on that. Probably not.
DEAD
It's all good. GM - I didn't mean to call you out or anything. I do not feel this death to be unfair in any way - just bad luck on Fruno's part. And, as cheesy as it may be, Fruno is a new-enough character that I think I'll just remake him using GM credits. He was only a level 1 character anyway, so not a big deal.
DEAD
Ouch! Fruno's stern gaze at the image of Chalfon at the top of the stares turns to wide-eyed surprise as the burning sting of the real Chalfon's crackling blade sinks into his side. The half-orc is just able to turn his head and see Chalfon's knowing look that the blade has struck true. Fruno opens his mouth to shout, "Bleargh!" All that comes out is a pitiful wail, followed but the sickening gurgle of blood rising through his throat. He collapses to the ground, blood hemorrhaging from the rapier's cut and his life being completely drained from his body. 7+16+5+13=41. That is a full-on death strike. Wowie-wow-wow. It's been nice playing with y'all.
DEAD
Frunobulax keeps his distance, but follows the party - he has no skill for subterfuge. He pats Rilamon on the shoulder, once out of earshot of the guards, "Good work out there." He nods at Dr. Gunter, "You as well. Your way with words is quite impressive." Once the party walk in on the scene and the Quadiran woman vanishes, Frunobulax does his best to make sense of things. He steps up to the body on the floor and takes careful look at Jacquo. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 He looks up at Chalfon, but mutters to his fellow Pathfinders, in response to Tevaga, "I have a bad feeling that retrieving the armor will not be so simple..." Sense Motive on Chalfon: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
DEAD
What on Golarion is that elf doing? Frunobulax thinks to himself. But as Fil comes around with his off-key singing, Fruno smiles, and whispers to the others. "Aha, the elf is being bold. But a good strategy - playing the fool. But perhaps we should ready ourselves to aid him." Frunobulax draws his great axe, gripping it tightly in his hands.
DEAD
"Hmpf, very useful - to have a bird that can assist with scouting. I... do not have such a way with animals," Frunobulax comments on the raven. Frunobulax crouches behind a bush, but raises his head to get a look at Dalsine's home. "Unless he has moved quickly, I assume he would have the sets of armor that we are tasked with retrieving in there, yes?" Noting that the party has a moment to breath a little easier, Fruno approaches Dr. Gunter, "I apologize for ignoring your inquiry regarding my tattoo - things just got a little busy. I do not know much about it - I have a complicated history with my more savage, orcish heritage. Once we have a larger share of free time, I will be pleased to speak with you more freely on the subject."
DEAD
Frunobulax gives Tevaga a nod of approval, "Have you ever considered taking up the mantle of an inquisitor? You seem to have a natural knack for it." He finishes putting on his armor. "I say we seek out Chalfon's estate. Yes, acting immediately may not be the most prudent, but Tevaga's idea of staking out the place seems sound."
DEAD
"I apologize, I did not mean to suggest that we are helping these people anymore than we already have. I was just attempting the 'small talk' that many people seem to enjoy engaging in." Frunobulax looks to his fellow Pathfinders, "We are supposed to catch this Dalsine fellow, yes?" He turns back to the group of cultists. "The people that attacked you, do you know anything of them? I know one of them is Dalsine, do you know where is place of residence is? Any help would be appreciated, and I promise to bring Gorum's vengeance upon the heads of those that attacked you." Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 6
DEAD
Frunobulax eases his stance as the group around the campfire greet the party and the Sarenrites. He stays near the back of the party, and takes the first opportunity to draw our a needle and thread to fix his trousers. "Pardon me a moment." Fruno quickly repairs the tear - it is obvious this is a task that he had performed several times. With the repair finished, the inquisitor stands and addresses the group of Sarenrites, "So, what is the plan now for you children of the dawnflower?"
DEAD
STR: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 (Wow! An uncharacteristically good roll for Fruno.) "Hurrrraugh!" Frunobulax shouts out a grunt as he bursts through the webbing. Once he's free of the spider's web, he draws his great axe and mutters, "Soon you'll be just a greasy spot on the floor; a gift to Gorum."
DEAD
Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 "Bah, I do not care for Sarenrae or for Taldor's problems with those that worship her. She cannot hold a candle to the great Gorum. However, my superior has asked for us to protect you." Frunobulax lets out a exasperated sigh through his nostrils. Knowledge (Dungeoneering): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Frunobulax points to one of the men (let's say Theodric). "You, what do you know of these caverns? Can you lead us towards an exit?"
DEAD
Frunobulax clears his throat before announcing, "My elven friend is correct. You must vacate the premises swiftly." Noticing that he is not getting the desired results, he breaks out in a booming voice, "You will move, or I shall toss one of you to the guards to buy the rest of us more time!" He draws his ax and brandishes it menacingly. I've got a rank in intimidate. Do the effects from different characters stack?
DEAD
Frunobulax is a Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum. I'll be honest, I'm still working on a background for him. Basically: an orphaned half-orc found by priests of Gorum outside the borders of Lastwall. Raised in Vigil, by the priest, Hanhar, who found him. Gorum is raised to despise his orc heritage. He has fully embraced the faith he was raised in, but was unable to serve as a cleric as the other priests in the temple were not as tolerant of Frunobulax as Hanhar was. Fruno then chose the life of an inquisitor - as a way to demonstrate his devotion to Gorum as forcefully as possible. Fruno decides to join the Pathfinder Society so that he can eventually return to Lastwall able to show that he's been a faithful follower of Gorum.
DEAD
Frunobulax spends the boat ride, swift though it may be, lying on his back with his face a pale ashen hue. Next to him is a bucket that is regularly emptied of his sick. "Urgh. I do not care for sea travel." Once on land and in the lodge, the half-orc stands as near as he can to a window for want of fresh air.
DEAD
"I suppose I could be convinced to head to Oh-pah-rah. I have been resting too long and there are too many creatures out there that must feel the edge of Gorum's blade. I shall report to the Venture Captain." With that, the half-orc, who had quietly been sitting in a corner staring at nothing, gets up and leaves to gather his belongings.

He takes himself too seriously, but his past adventuring companions turn that into comedy. So, feel free to give him a hard time.
DEAD
"But what manner of magic is this?" Frunobulax wonders aloud as he sees Deandre become two people. "As long as you bleed the same!" Frunobulax shouts as he brings his great axe down on the Deandre directly in front of him. (using another Destructive smite: 2/5 used) Attack, Divine Favor: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5 Whiff!. Oh well, he gets another HP back from his judgement, at least.
DEAD
Frunobulax looks back at Hallie, who seems to be calling the shots. "You will feel Gorum's judgement this day." (Judgement of Healing - swift movement) He then turns to the one that shanked him and swings his axe. "Feel my DESTRUCTION!" he shouts. [ooc](Using Destructive Smite, 1/5 uses so far.) Great Axe Attack, Divine Favor: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 = 20 Damage, Divine Favor, Dest. Smite: 1d12 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 13 DF and DS stack for damage - DF is Luck bonus, DS is morale bonus. Healing judgement gives Fruno Fast healing 1. Bringing his HP up to 2.
