DireMerc wrote: Strix hates all humans don't have any particular hatred over chelaxians more than others That's not strictly true. "...centuries of bloodshed and superstitious hatred from the neighbors in Cheliax have created a species-wide siege mentality. Strix have developed a deep hatred of humans; the precise origin of this hate is uncertain, but it is known that they deeply resent human intrusions and besiegement." And since Devil's Perch in Cheliax is the only place where Strix are found on the Continent, they should hate Cheliaxans more than anyone. They are also tight-knit so any Strix not in the Devil's Perch is an oddity even if they weren't working for humans.

"Don't the Strix hate the Cheliaxans? Why is one working for them? What if she's brainwashed or something? And the Dwarves may be similarly compromised. Can't we just tie them up or something?"

"Hmmm, should pass visual inspection as long as you don't talk or walk anywhere. Anyway, I'm talking about flashpowder. A sudden bright light in the middle of the night would make an excellent signal that the scout needs to get the Hells out of there."

"Hmmm...I have heard of something that might help in a nighttime raid. But it has two problems: one, I would need someone with less-than-legal contacts to acquire it and two, it would be for emergency extraction warnings only."

"I do have one trick up my sleeve for that. We pick our sneakiest member and I can make them invisibility for a short while. Should keep them invisible enough to sneak past the guards. If they get cornered, we can cause a big enough ruckus that they can sneak back out."

"Still not letting any rapists on our team, Landel. But Mordecai is right, if we can have a targeted prison break and free all political dissenters, it would give us a huge boon...and make the Hellknights look like the buffoons they are."
He has a point about the warnings. And from what I've gathered, the synthesist isn't *that* powerful per se. It's just that it can't help but completely overshadow all martials to the point where they shouldn't be played with any. Freya has a much more powerful class than a synthesist but she wouldn't make the fighter and brawler feel totally superfluous. only *mostly* superfluous The real archetype to ban is master summoner because it's redonkulous.
