Cruor Venelli
Faction: Enforcer
Name: Cruor Venelli
Class: Steelblood Bloodrager
Cruor's story begins with a Hellknight raid on a band of rogue mages. Not much information remains on who those mages were, but they had been deemed a menace for the peace and stability of Cheliax, and swiftly vanquished. What is known is that the Hellknights carried home, among the spoils of the raid, an infant, probably the newborn son of one of the rebels. Merciless as they might be, they had not considered it fair that the toddler should pay for the sins of his parents, and they assigned him to the Temple of Asmodeus in Egorian.
Cruor grew strong with age, but otherwise unremarkable. He showed no propensity for theology, and although his blood carried a strong trace of magic, he was a dull student of the arcane, never particularly bright, he worked for room and board, but never with any passion. His attitude changed the first time he saw Queen Abrogail II. At the time, she was sixteen and he was fourteen, but he was instantly smitten with her, an obsessive passion growing in his heart. He started training with the more militant members of the clergy, turning his strength into martial prowess. He courted the Hellknights commanders, begging for a place in their ranks, hoping to manage to raise high enough to have the Queen's attention.
His fanatical passion, together with his natural strength, led him to become one of the most promising recruits of the Hellknights, not officially a member, but acting as a swordbearer first, a squire later, and eventually being trusted with patrol duties and support in skirmishes. He is dead set on rising in the ranks, and looks forward to the day when he'll manage to slay a devil and finally become a full-fledged Hellknight.
--------------------Personality
Cruor is not a psychopath, but that's about all that can be said about his positive traits. His strong sense of justice is offset by a twisted pleasure in dealing punishment, and his devotion to the Queen has him turn, from time to time, into a fanatical, tyrannical zealot. He has little patience for incompetence, and even less for weakness or cowardice.
There is no gentle soul underneath Cruor's hard shell. He has trained himself to be ruthless, strong and resolute, the qualities that are a Hellknight's pride.
He has a habit of licking his lips, and whenever he's excited for something, his breathing grows audibly louder, like panting.
Fair Notice: I have been occasionally known to optimize my characters a bit. I have strayed far from cheese and powerbuilding, but I know that he is still pretty strong. Should something strike you as too powerful, please tell me and I'll change it.
"The Lucky Halfling"
I'll need to take some time to put the character together, but I'm interested in putting forth a Human Antipaladin, with the Dread Vanguard and Tyrant archetypes, of Asmodeus. Through contracts with a devil, perhaps even Asmodeus himself, he has garnered dark power and serves Cheliax through fear and force of arm. If he manages to reach level 6, I plan on putting him in the Hellknight prestige class.
Edit: I think I may have him go Fighter with the Lore Warden archetype into Antipaladin with the Tyrant Archetype before progressing into the Hellknight prestige class as opposed to the aforementioned.

I'm one of the players from the good campaign and just wanted to put my wish list out there.
We have four players and could take up-to two more...
WE have:
Sword and Board fighter... Thinks he's a paladin of Aroden even though he's not.
Brawler... He's a famous cage fighter who has decided to fight outside the cage
A Halfling arcanist who is just as cute as a button... yes she is.
Finally we have another Halfing this one a bard... who is our professional operative.
1. We could prolly use a good divine caster. Urban druid, Cleric(Caiden Cailen, Calistria, Melani, something kinda Chaotic Goodish ), or Oracle. Even a hunter or War-Priest would be cool considering we have a bard who can take a little of the healing burden.
2. We have no trap-finder currently. So... a rogue, trapper ranger, Urban Barbarian, crypt-breaker alchemist, seeker oracle would all fit the bill....
3. Another Physical DPS wouldn't hurt either. Someone good with a bow or a big two handed AXE kinda guy would be fun.
Most importantly... have a cool character concept that's going to be fun to interact with.

Phana Hartsong was once an astoundingly beautiful woman, being that she had the blood of angels in her. With ruby thread-like hair, gleaming amber eyes, and tanned skin, she was quite the looker.
However, she had been briefly captured by a pit lord, which left her hands and forearms badly scorched and scarred where his burning whip held her. The rest of her has less concentrated scars where burning embers touched her. She had been rescued, but not before the injuries were permanent.
Since then, she's taken to a more organizational route in her faith, but uses her magic to support and back up others in battle. She has recently come to Kintargo to research the bells, and has a theory that the underlying bit of the cosmic order that was connected to Aroden has something to do with their ringing.

A very good question. Actually, my character uses the alternative channeling feature available for clerics. She channels envy , which on a failed save, causes those affected to steal from others. Her channeling is more for forcing undead under her control and isn't for healing of any kind. It also gives a small bonus to stealing when used to "heal" others.
But since she's an evil cleric, I can only swap spells into inflict spells. Thankfully, if band-aiding is required, she carries 1000 hp healing, guaranteed, in the form of wands. Why nobody else carries such beautiful wands is a mystery to me. Her healing effectively affects both her minions and others. Though if you expect her to heal during combat, you're out of luck. The best thing to is to prevent damage, not sponge it up, so she has an AOE mind effecting effect.
And heck, if anyone dies, she'll just bring them back as a Juju zombie, no problem.
EDIT: Also, her archtype gives up an increase to her channeling power at 3rd level, making her always behind other clerics by a die, so her channeling wouldn't be a very worth-while sponge in the first place. But as long as the DC remains good, that's all that matters.

so you channel negative. BTW variant channeling still channels the energy at half strength.

I've been dying to play in a Hells Rebels game and have a couple concepts for it, a Roof Runner rogue, a Gunslinger or a Vigilante.
Any advice on which would be a better fit?
How many can we submit?
I would prefer to play as a rebel.
Thanks!Gunslinger would be best fit. lets see what you come up with.
the Vigilante might work, if you pick magical girl archetype, then that would be really interesting but I just don't know enough about the class to know if it will work... also I am the party rogue so don't want too much overlap of abilities.
Thanks Kayla! Ive been keep on trying out a Gunslinger laterly anyway. I'll work on it today and submit it ASAP. When's deadline?

@Kayla. Sure, let's call it negative energy. But her channeling is tied to a different type. Her "healing" channel actually offers a "channel bonus" to certain skills in the form of how many channel dice she has, which is 2. Or it would, if she channeled positive energy. Or if she could channel both kinds.
Other channel variants -do- heal. Some for the full amount, some for the regular half. Some for more than the normal amount on specific critters.
Other channel variants harm, like the normal channeling of negative energy. Some for half, some for full amount.
However, Envy's harmful effect is a compulsion effect that isn't halved. Because it doesn't roll any number of channeling dice and only requires the channel DC of the normal clerical ability.
Woah! You know what Kayla, you are now my favorite person. Upon further reading, her negative energy -does- roll dice. I thought that it was just the effect, but the effect is a bonus.
Okay, so yes, there's a whole d6 of negative energy attached to the will save effect. I would never count a single d6 of energy as any sufficient source of healing though, and will still label my character as the party healing by use of wands. Evil has the best healing for out-of-combat.
TLDR; What? No! Wait! Yes! Sweet thanks! Totes healer, has magic sticks. Magic sticks save lives. Anyone wielding a magic healing stick is a healer, be they rogue, wizard, or charismatic fighter.

Also, my character's current spell list can always change to suit what the party needs. If, say certain classes don't have a +4 bonus to a stat that they'd like, then she can prepare buffs. Or she can prepare just about anything. Right now, she's set up for dirty tricks.
And next level, her secret-loving patron will grant her an at-will ability to make certain that she is always prepared.

And just one more thing. Normally my necromancer etiquette is very good with sticking to one large monster. The biggest and baddest monster is better than many smaller monsters/humanoids.
However, the Death's Head, which is an amazing item for how cheap it is, automatically controls such a large amount of HD to make it very, very unfair. For instance, a Hell Knight Juju zombie would be 24 HD worth of undead. A Hell Knight is CR 11, and could likely wipe out whatever it wanted until the higher levels. The Juju template also adds 1 to the CR, so it would be CR 12.
As a DM, I use a CR calculator to make certain I'm not intentionally wiping out the party with my favorite encounters. A CR 12 challenge would take more than 10 normal, non-super powered level 5 characters, to take it down. 10 doesn't drop it into the very difficult area and it remains in the over-powering section.
My suggested NPCS are CR 5 on their own, if there's two of them. The Juju template adds 1, so those two would be CR 6 each. Still powerful on their own, but two CR 6's can be encountered by a level 5 party without everyone dying.
This is why I'm straying from one large monster under the control of the Death's Head. But in normal practice of necromancy, I prefer to stick close to one monster.

This is Xan Nes's Submission. Let me know if I messed up the math somewhere please.
Born to an Orc mother and a Human father, Thamlin was the perfect candidate to take over as the Orc tribes Shaman. On his second birthday, the sacred tattoo's were placed on him, two red lines coming down from his eyes to his jaw, and a black swirl on his left arm. Thamlin was already learning to pray to Gods long forgotten to him. Two months later his wandering tribe neared the borders of Chelax. Encountering a Chelax patrol, the tribe was quickly slaughtered, with Thamlin being taken for entertainment.
The young half orc smiled during his time being taken to the nearest arena where he was sold without realizing it. He spent the first day talking with the other slaves and was told of Milani, and was told to pray to her each night and hope for freedom. Thamlin did so without hesitation. The next day he was thrown into the arena with nothing but a Kukri, and took down a goblin. He continued this for many years, praying to Milani every night, and fighting every day the next day.
At the age of ten, he had been given the monklier of Mouse due to his short stature at the time. He had amassed a small horde of objects from his fights, and began to feel different. His time praying had allowed him to access powers he thought was only for the owners, magic. He began to call upon this magic in the arena, and he was able to win more and more. His fellow slaves began to cheer him on, unlike him understanding that Milani had heard his prayers and responded.
The slaves began to teach him more about Milani after that, and "Mouse" dived strait into the religion. He began to develop unusual powers, his Kukri becoming as strong as his Faith, and he began to be able to heal without casting spells.
Another five years of being an arena gladiator passed before Mouse rebelled against his owners. Taking his small pile of magical gear, he distributed his non magical winnings among the other slaves, and lead them to escape. He sent the group of slaves off without him, as he went to Kintagaro to take on the slave trade there, and hopefully make friends who could help him.

Ah well. It is an item up for interpretation. There’s no concrete wording that states that it must be humanoid either, but I will accept your ruling. However, I will have to change it to the 10 HD Death’s Head. Cheaper and still functions the same, just with less. Enough to fill an office space full of laborers that may or may not be working off a life-time debt to the city. That’ll refund 1400gp, but that’ll stay in her pocket for now.

I didn't ignore it Roet I just decided to pass. To explain the reason. It's because of the synthesis summoner part. I find it ruins the character. If he was a regular summoner not synthesis or a pure Zen archer with a slightly different background I'd have likely accepted the character. As it is I'd prefer the urban ranger or the gunslinger over your zen archer synthesis summoner.
As for crayfish your character is interesting but I'd rather see something truly evil like a diabolist or a cleric of asmodeus in the evil group.
I really really like the idea of the warpriest Milani in the group write up a background for her I'll give you a spot.
I decided to do six per ground so right now one slot remains for each side.
I am highly considering Landel Seltiss or Aldous Scatterfrack for a slot for good but waiting on backgrounds before deciding.

Perhaps a Chelish (Human) Sorcerer with the Infernal Bloodline who has sold his soul to Asmodeus through the use of the Damnation feats would catch your fancy. He would progress into the Diabolist prestige class once he gets the chance, but this will require he manage to conjure a devil to do his bidding for a day through the use of Lesser Planar Binding. Perhaps an Imp he sends out to spy on the rebels.
"The Lucky Halfling"
I had actually been looking at the Diabolist pretty hard as I was interested in the Damnation feats and getting the most out of the of them. Nothing like running around looking like you belong to a different alignment. I'll work up a backstory and mechanics tonight and get them sent over to you.
I'll need to figure out how to manage that special requirement for the prestige class. I'm considering a scroll or three.

Aldous was fascinated with this object before him. Soon it became his obsession and his goal was to improve this weapon and make it into something much more. It's a little rough, but didn't want to keep you waiting. Thank you for your consideration.
His smile quickly vanished at the sound of a fellow citizen singing praises to the Lord Mayor. Can’t they see their freedoms dissipating? Thrune’s abrupt rule violates everything! Can’t you see what he’s done to this town?! With a shake of his head, he continues to scan the crowd. Landel’s eyes froze on the woman standing before the opera house. The mere sight of her filled his very core with seething hatred. The elf's mind drift back to vague memories of his parents. A shadow appearing from nowhere...sharp talons….tail... so much mayhem...that night he’d become an orphan. Why does that woman remind me of that? She looks human enough…
The escalating sounds of the crowd bring him back to the present as Thrune appeared. The Lord Mayors hands down some new laws and...the crowd erupted. Some started fighting back, but the timing wasn’t right. There’s no way we can take him down like this. Using the chaos as cover, Landrel slinked out. Our time will come Kintargo. he thought. Steeling one last look, he headed for the old district; his home.
This city will be great again. I'll see to it.

Asmodeous? Oh, yes, I'm certain he's evil. But I wouldn't label his followers as evil. His worshipers are respectful, devote, and work mostly by contract. None of which are evil traits whatsoever. Some even declare themselves to be paladins to give themselves a little righteous flair.
Where Asmodeus isn't worshipped openly, his worshipers are expected to obey all the local laws (being lawful and all that) and take only willing sacrifices. All of this can be found on the wiki
I mean, they traffic slaves and work with devils. Abadar works with slaves, just, their called indentured servants. Diabolism is more lawful than evil, especially in Cheliax, where working with devils is a very common practice.
Now, Norgorber on the other hand...
Norgorber is a very evil and mysterious individual who murdered all of those who knew of him after his ascension to keep his identity a secret. His followers are a separated into four different sections, one including the Skinsaw Cult. They commit atrocities only to show their love for their patron. Why, they would gladly kidnapped the homeless and prisoners and anyone who wouldn't be noticed missing, skin them alive, piece-by-piece, and use the skin shavings as ingredients to a most delicious pie. And then sell the pie and never tell anyone, living their life as if everything is just as it is.
Then, on the day of Norgorber, they put on a mask of someone's face (that they cut off ad preserved) and kidnap some innocent off the street. Just, anyone will do. Some orphan child, some old coot. And they would slowly melt their insides with poison, but keep them awake and alive long enough for the process to be complete. And then bury the body somewhere out of the way, in reverence to their god. And then go about their daily lives.
In fact, it wouldn't be too far-fetched for my cleric of supposed lesser evil than the diabolist, to discover the rebel's family members' wherabouts while they're out adventuring, capture them, skin them delicately, and then have her skeletons wear the skin and send them back to their houses as if nothing had happened. Mom's cooking dinner and their father is reading the paper. Mom doesn't seem talkative today, but dinner is ready. And when they sit at the table, Pops leans over to kiss Mom and bites her cheek, slowly pulling her flesh aside and chewing it. It peels slowly, because it's well stuck on there with such care and precision, and her eyeballs fall into the soup. They float to the top of the stew and Pops just grabs her arm and starts ripping, not listening to the hero's cries for him to stop.
And the Asmodeus's most evil thing he did today was have a nice chat with a devil, legally contracting some poor fool's soul to the devil himself, and invite the secret Norgorber follower to have dinner at their mansion to show how better off their religion is in Cheliax than the rabble that don't follow Asmodeus. Fun fact, Norgorber worship is banned in every nation except Absalom, where it is tolerated at best.
They invite the tax collector in because wealth attracts wealth. And the tax collector sits down at the table, wearing some standard, middle class dress. The host asks how her day went and she tells him that her day was filled with filling out paper work and conducting surveys, but went rather well. And the Asmodeus follower chuckles a bit, saying he did some paperwork too. Oh ho ho, so evil is he. Then dinner is served and the tax collector eats politely and with adequate manners, never chuckling unless it is in response to a timely joke.
But dinner is served. Aha..hahaha..hahaha!
But I accept your ruling. I will have to bow out, as clearly, I did not impress my audience with my villain of choice.
DireMerc
Maybe evil wasn't the best choice of words what I meant is someone who will fit in better with the group. In any case I am sorry to say I will be giving the slot for evil to Lucky and his diabolist because I had my fingers crossed that someone would make one.
Ok "Mouse" Thalmin will be joining good and Landel Seltiss.
I will close recruitment down for now and PM those chosen shortly with details.
I thank you all for your interest and I will make a post if a spot becomes open again.
If you weren't chosen it's nothing personal I just need to make sure the group meshes together well and are somewhat balanced in power as well because I intent to have both groups fight it out at one point.
A good backstory or a class that fits the adventurer well also sways me towards particular characters.

They definitely are a strong archetype, broken most of the time - but at the end of the day, it depends of the player. I specifically didn't use the really broken aspects of it because I believed the concept thematically, and invested on making the outsider side of the character match such view. Anyway, like I said - you probably should list the archetypes or classes you don't even want to consider, since no matter what it's to be done in such characters you wouldn't accept them anyway.
