Wow had to transfer this to three devices to get it to unzip.
Files all scrambled in folder and unable to rearrange them.
Three minute sound files that take about 2 minutes each to load up and play.
Taking as long to get each snippet to play as the playtime itself.
Ended up having to delete unzipped file to stop strange abort message from popping up every minute or so on my desktop, even though whole file was playing fine.

Great sound quality and a fun listen, I really was loving the concept.
But I kept losing immersion due to file size, location and buffering. Way too much hassle to bother paying for more of these.
Wish the setup was more like an audio book.

I understand the nostalgia, been running SR since 89 myself the in game time line has advanced. I for one am glad of that. Times change, 22 years have passed in game. Just imagine how much the real world changes in that amount of time. I do miss the old feel though and I never miss the chance to make my older runners feel their in game age. ;)

Who wrote the copy for this? Headjack? Datajack maybe but even they are rare in the now wireless matrix. And decks are gone, commlinks now. With the lose of decks comes a Change of terms, Hackers now. Someone's an edition behind lol.

I recommend the toolkit though while geared towards newer players. The components Are sturdy and well done. Recently started a dawn of the artifacts game Packs, screen and compiled tables have made my job easier.

I think it's a generational thing I never expected to make 40 now I'm almost 42. My brain still hasn't caught up yet. I've lost two players over the years one younger to murder and one older to medical issues. Like our games, life must go on. I've learned to appreciate it.

Grey Maiden first choice but iconic Witch an ultra close second place.

Had something like this happen, depending on how I found the post. Via boards or via my account one sentence was missing a section. I could swear it looked right in preview as well. Didn't catch it till late so couldn't edit.

Just successfully placed order for inner sea magic but when click on download link saying personalizer unavailable?

Still not up?

Oh been really looking forward to this and UC. August is my new favorite month.

Is there any way to edit a post?

Wayne's art is always superb. It attracted me to the original Eberron and it really sets the one for tone me. So very pleased he's doing so much work with Pathfinder.

Still waiting for amazon to ship my book ;(. Really would like to get a chance to read some of this stuff. Think I've learned my lesson next time I bite the bullet and spend a few extra bucks to get it at least in the month it's released hehe.

80 "Pawns"? What exactly are pawns and will this be something available outside of the box?

Wow this is looking to be a great product. Brings back some warm and fuzzy memories of getting my first box set.

Good stuff and almost here, can't wait to dive into this one. It's got me really starting to anticipate the ultimate combat book more as well.

Great minds think alike.

Arcane discoveries look interesting.

Pre-Order in, pitching tent near mailbox now.

An amazing piece of fan work. Congrats and thanks.

I have no problem with device that poorly imitates a low level casters ability. A few holstered wands of magic missiles make a dangerous foe.

I see some folks upset about flavor. Honestly it's your table, the flavor is yours create and adjust. If your a slave to the core RAW then I think it's easy enough to interpret. Gunslingers are just another option certainly not going to overshadow a wizard or a dragon anytime soon. See it for what it is and don't confuse it with our own history.

Getting ready to pick up my second AP and was leaning towards Kingmaker. Now Carrion Crown has my attention. Really liking the Cthulu tie in stuff.

*Big Happy Grin*

Been reading through the posts and just thought I'd toss in a few thoughts.

-A bare knuckles brawler/wrestler would be an interesting concept for a core class. And one I've toyed with for NPC creations. Never seemed right though, deserves a more defined role.
-Goblin Ninja I'd vote for this just to see Wayne Reynolds iconic art though.
-Zombie Smurfs only so I stomp on them.

Edit: Ack my avatars been replaced by a Smurf ...is it Smurf Tuesday?

Gearsman,Technic League or other Numeria info/goodies added?

(Ever since reading this entry in the original guide I've had visions of an "Expedition to the Barrier Peaks" style AP or home-brew campaign.)

Dice Roller: http://epdice.codeplex.com/
From the EP resources page, simple but covers everything and works well.

As an Shadowrun fan I followed Boyle and Jury to EP and finally just got the hardcover and am awaiting Sunward. Loving the Core book, mechanics and the setting. Really wanna try and squeeze in a game with local group as were on a break from SR and in middle of council of thieves and an alt PF game which is just wrapping up. Be up for trying out a pbp though.

Ohh thread necromancy. Played DL 1st edition and D20 little bit. Recently got to play some Savage Worlds "Low Life". Liking the system, just ordered some reloaded stuff, looking forward to getting back to the weird west.

So I've become a Pathfinder convert and been running the most recent adventure path. So when the new classes came up for beta test I made sure to point them out to my players. After some discussion I came up with a plan to take part in the play test. Whenever we start a new game, to work out the kinks I place the players against each other in a mock combat to learn the mechanics and blow off some steam.

Ok so how to build on the grand melee theme. Let them build a lvl 20 beta test character and give them a week or two to tweak it...yea! Five players plus myself meant we could test drive them all. My players are a mix of long time veterans and quickly becoming veteran players with decades of play behind some of them. I knew this should be fun.

Originally I planned on 3 rounds in an open arena (crystal caste grid map), 4 ramps, 4 pillars at 20'and platform 10' high in the center. The gods have plucked you from your cushy 20th level retirement and are forcing you fight for there viewing and drinking pleasure.

Some rules. Base stats 6+2d6 re-rolling 1-2's, max hp's and all standard rules from PF core book. Cash and items from the NPC table in PF core. This put everyone on fairly level playing field gear and stat wise. Each round was to start with a random 1-6 prep rounds to allow those who needed it to make preparations.

Well it started going bad from the start hehe of course. The inquisitor showed up late and didn't have a PC finished. Round one had already started so we just figured he could jump in during round 2. Oh what we didn't know.

Let's go back and see what the PC's brought to the table.

Cavalier was tweak to be a full on lancer and dual wielder and his initial reaction about the class was it appeared weak. He changed his mind after parsing the math on his charge attacks. He came in supremely confident and kinda had me worried as I hadn't looked over his class too well.

Alchemist, hey thats me the GM I wanted to see what this one could do. With bombs for offense and plenty of healing I felt good about my chances. Quick sidenote Eyebite is really a poor choice after the level its available, my only real complaint during creation.

Witch another class I hadn't looked too deeply at but I knew was in good hands and the witches player had smirk that showed he had some tricks up his sleeve.

Oracle's player had an idea what he wanted to do with this class before I even announced this competition. Earth Glide and Crystal Sight made him drool and the rest of us worry.

Summoner was one of two PC's that had messed around with these classes at 5 lvl in a short one shot 2wks before and knew the potential of this class and had his plan pinned down.

Six rounds of prep saw alot of defenses prepped by the caster types. Flights, stoneskins, summons, greater invi's,hastes....etc. While the caviler muttered something about a challenge to the Summoner across the arena.

Oracle drops into the earthen floor along with some earth elemental's, summoners elemental's and the Witches fox changed into a copper dragon follow.

Alchemist initially assaults the Eidelon but decides to back off when it gets too close.

Before Cavalier can even make a move the witch hits him with a successful maze. (ouch)

I originally thought 5-6 rounds per round of fight for these bad boys to duke it out. It took 7 rounds just feel each other out and unleash our first wave abilities. And due to standard table debate and new class ability interpretations (a few of which we've since gone back and realized we made a few mistakes.) our 3 bouts boiled down to 1 bout that lasted the better part of a game day.

After round 7 or so things started to change storm of vengeance overhead, dimensional anchor and a plethora of greater dispels brought the Caviler back into the fight and left me the Alchemist exposed and grounded, nearly out of bombs and everyone still in fighting shape.

The cavalier finally loose he charges the witch who is busy healing his "familiar" who is hiding from the Oracle in Sanctuary. Two actions later the witch lies dead due to the massive damage output the Cav can achieve with his magical adamantine lance.

The Summoner and the oracle have up until now been at a near stalemate, the summoner melds with his eidelon as his summoned creatures continue there assault on the Oracle.

The summoner Dominates Monster on the Cavalier....another failed save. With my permanent true strike potion gone and down to 5 bombs another two passes from the cavalier finish me off. On his second pass he gets off of his horse and draws a magical rapier and scimitar there there bonus damage and his improved crits it was an ugly end. (not as bad as his lance damage which was in the hundreds but still impressive)

With the oracle still in the ground and summoner melded things ground down, Our allotted play time was running short and we hadn't even finished one bout.

If I were to extrapolate the fight It think once the Oracles meld ability ended the dominated cavi along with the eidolon probably could have finished him if his remaining spells didn't finish either of them off.

Thats right even though the magical types stole the show with flashy showy effects and summoned armies only the cavalier put anyone down in the end.

So many little decisions, mistakes, saving throws effected the outcome. A second or even a third bout could have ended very differently. I also realized as GM I'd have a hell of a time challenging a party of these classes at this level.

Oracle: Earth Glide ability made the fight for this version of the class and made him a final contender. The Oracle and the Summoner seemed to be matched well but I time would have been the Oracles downfall. (we ran out of it.)

Witch: A solid class that didn't shine at first but put in a solid showing and with some minor adjustments could have stayed in the fight.

Alchemist: I like this class but I don't think he's a solo fighter. Solid melee abilities to around mid level and steady attack with the bombs but after two greater dispels was left with empty bomb bags and a weak smile as the melee type tore him to pieces. I think this guy works best with a party for support.

Summoner: We all thought this guy was overpowered and put the beta changes from the forums in place. He still put on a heck of a show and stood his ground while controlling the fight at the end. (Note to self, kill summoner first don't try to fight his personal army)

Cavalier: What can I say I thought the player was just bluster and overconfidence before the fight but he proved me wrong with only about 4 rounds of actually being in the fight he finished off two of us and if not for the dominate maybe 3 of us. (fly is your friend...damn those dispels)

I gotta say when I first looked over the classes I wasn't so sure but after seeing the them in action at there peak I gotta say a pretty even fight until the cavalier finally got involved after the spell slingers depowered each other some. I just wish the inquisitor had the chance to join in I'm still not sure were his power level falls amongst the rest.

SOME PLAYER COMMENTS
Oracle
Well 1st off, on overall most classes seem very balanced on a whole with some abilities making classes a little more than others cavalier- and damage:Summoner and its pet: and Stone oracle and the earth glide...

Cavalier
The fact of the matter was, none wanted to take a chance on aggroing me, while i was dominated. I was still alive, and had actually just healed back up to full. Another point is i had the only kills of the day.

Summoner
I still think that a dominated foe is a defeated foe but thats just my two copper. (Cavalier/well unlike defeat, domination wears off.)

Everyone agreed that if they did it again they'd try a lower and work there way up to get to know there class better.

I had a reward in mind I was going to give the winner but after a whole day of crazy fighting and good sports all around I've decided to let an item of lesser value for each pc show up in a future loot in our AP game.

(Feel free to ask questions or tear apart my grammar my boys were playing dad is a jungle gym while I tryed to type this.)

First printings were missing a page from the table of contents. It held up the release.

Guess the important part of that question was simply does attacking after a successful stealth check (meeting all the requirements for making a stealth check) then allow a rogue to attempt a sneak attack. The rules are not clear on when an opponent loses his dex past the surprise round or when affected by a condition. Other then a mention along with invis, I can't find a ruling for attacking while unseen. Thanks for the quick reply.

This problem recently came up this past weekend with out first Pathfinder game.

Gnome rogue dives into swampy ditch getting full cover/concealment from gnome bard across the road from him. He then succeeds in stealth check and bard fails to spot him with perception.

Can the rogue now sneak attack with his hand crossbow?

When does a target lose his Dex to AC.
Against unseen targets? (ie invis)
Then what about stealth, sniping (sub rule under stealth)

This has probably been covered already but theres alot of posts to sift through now. Just opened the mail and started reading. See mention of coming to website to find "Players Guide" extras. Has this not shown up yet?

Shipped on Fri here today...damn fast for crossing country to PA. It's like X-mas!

This actually sounds really cool ... er, frosty. Unfortunately, I'm a 3etard when it comes to Shadowrun rules, too. The curse of 4th editions! Still, might not be too tough to convert. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has this. Does it do justice to the premise? Does it tie into Earthdawn? How are the production values?

I'm not a big fan of edition change myself but when it comes to 4th editions SR4 is a win.

Dusk will be 4 part series concerning "artifacts" from past ages. So while no concrete Earthdawn crossover (license belongs to another company) it while link the old world with the new.

Conversion document (SR4 official site) floating around from 4E's release should be able to make 4th stuff backwards compatible.

And if your an old school fan Frosty is from the first Harleaquin adventure.

I guess so.

That and dozens of fan-made sheets. Which reminds me, I still have some work to do.

Just wondering if there would be something on or around release day...how much difference between beta sheet and final?

Will there be a download/printable version of final character sheets?

What form would you like these books to take? Would you be interested in subscribing to such a line, provided the books cost somewhere around $35 a pop?

More world info, epic, monsters, options, items/gear.

titles/ideas would you like to see us explore?

I would like to see more of the world fleshed out. Would really like Psionics converted.

We're all worried about rules bloat. What is your opinion of new classes and races?

Races and Classes are great as long as there not "forced". Balanced needed roles are fine but don't make 10 to fill space when you only really need 5 of them.

Are you as tired of prestige classes as I am?

Death to Prestige classes! I'm really liking the concept of SWSE's Talent trees to customize your chosen class. It allows you to stand out even in a room full of your chosen class. It really does remove the need for prestige classes.

It includes a map of the Inner Sea region, which is the only area we've really detailed in any way so far. We're keeping details on other areas of Golarion sparse, so there will be opportunities to reveal more good stuff for years to come.

May seem like a little thing but in a world were people can fly and teleport at higher lvls and having to go back and retcon whole pieces of geography and story make me cringe. Keep seeing references to an eastern culture and lands, which at least one of players will be interested in. I hate railroading players and alot of our game time over the years has been freeform, I hate haveing to hand wave things or try and railroad them. That being said this has been a complaint with most of our favorite fantasy worlds and just wondering if Golorian were any different. But other then that I'm loving the Pathfinder stuff!
